Wait until you hear the backstory in my head for this Ork! All will be revealed in my narrative campaign battle reports soon but for now, here's how I painted up this awesome Pirate Ork sent to me by Kromlech to check out! I chose a Bad Moon scheme for this beast but it's based the same as the rest of my Orks as they'll all fit in together at some stage! Have to say, I would definitely recommend checking out Kromlech, they have some really cool stand ins for Orks, as well as a wide range of other minis and the quality of this model was pretty much perfect!

Kromlech really do make some great minis, and you've done a marvellous job with that scary SOB. Orks really do tend to get seen as comic relief these days, but I've always found them horrifying. Insane, self-replicating mushroom monsters bent on killing everything they come across whilst stealing as much s**t as possible.

I think they need to be comic relief, or else they would just be green tyranids. Them being a little silly and having goofy personalities makes them feel like individuals and not just another hive mind of murder monsters.
I’m not to sure I agree with the just green tyranids thing. But I get what you mean. Sometimes it’s funny but in all the books you read where orks are involved they are never made to be a joke. There super scary.
@Mediocre Hobbies I definitely agree that they are scary, but in a way the goofiness helps there. With the Tyranids, there is no negotiation; they are a force of nature. The scary thing is that you *can* negotiate with Orks, but you have to give them something to fight. They aren't fighting you because they need biomass or for territory, but because they just want to fight someone and they don't care much who that is. They are not a faceless horde. They are individuals, and all of those individuals want to kill you.
