We have 100% synthetic rigging. 6 years and 18,000 miles sailed. As a professional rigger and full-time cruiser, I would highly recommend it. Send us an email if you have any questions
Dyneema chafe and UV guard and it will last as long or longer than stainless. Plenty of up-to-date info out there. Hundreds of pounds less aloft, can see chafe but can't see internal deterioration on stainless wire, etc. No such thing as dyneema only lasting 5 years if prepped, installed, and properly looked after. The five year thing is just bad "hearsay" when there is no way any rigging has a standard or set time limit or expectation. Do you wanna pay someone to guess at the condition of your stainless, or would you rather be able to KNOW the condition of your dyneema by yourself, quickly and easily anytime you want?
I enjoyed meeting you both and getting to know you. I just subscribed and will watch all of your videos. Oh. Thank you for shopping at West Marine Mark
I totally agree with the rigger , dynema is strong , but its strands and can chafe , if your a cruiser and not up and adjusting all the time then stay with the original, If your a rigger sailing then you are the person to repair it , not everyone is that way , Stretch and adjustment , Great on a racing boat they winch a guy up to check every few days .

We will definitely reach out before we re-rig. You and James from Zingaro were in the back of my mind when I asked Rick that question
