We're Lisa & Dave. We love to travel anywhere warm and friendly, to explore, meet new people, see new places, and share what we see. Sailing Dark Angel is our unscripted tale of learning a whole new life. Freedom and adventure on the water, living an alternative lifestyle.
We decided our UA-cam channel would reflect the new experiences and discoveries we make. We don't have a ton of experience for 'how-to' videos and the only advice we offer is to get out and live life. Don't wait for it to come to you. We hope to inspire people the way we've been inspired.

SDA172 Limping Away from Paradise
In this episode of Sailing Dark Angel we say good-bye to the Exumas, and start our trek west. With one engine down and one engine failing we sail to Clifton Bay before cruising to exclusive Chub Cay, where dicey holding keeps us up all night before a scorching hot wind and bikini free hop toward Mackie Shoal.

Hi! Where do you plan on having the engines looked at?
🇹🇷🇹🇷👍👍
Loving the adventures you shared! We really get more excited on what awaits us after rebuilding our 65' power catamaran!!
I'm somewhat shocked there was no mention of the Bohemian Saltwater crocodile, especially with all the Iguana guards that were posted up. Oh, and that limestone sure looked like a croc slide to me 😆
We must have been distracted by the iguanas. We’ll keep a sharper eye out next time 👀🐊
@@SailingDarkAngel You wasn't skaret they'd eat your toe's were you? I would have been 😅
They do bite 😬
In my experience- most naturalists encourage people not to pet the sea turtles, rays etc. I really enjoy your videos!
We love the way you shared the details here!❤Thanks!! It would help us as we are rebuilding our catamaran!
@@ExtraordinaryHorizons I hope we helped a bit ❤️
@SailingDarkAngel You Did For Sure! Thank you so much!🔥❤️🔥
Love your excellent videos keep them comming, the less bikini the better
@@johnfairweather3178 I’m happy you enjoy our videos ❤️
I really like your videos. I wish I could live such adventures. As for the bikini and shorts, or lack of, I fully understand. Who swims with clothes on? Nudity is a very common thing on my boat, especially if we're swimming. Keep the videos coming and be safe :)
The ocean is our home, and it's always more comfortable without clothes. 👙🌊 We love sharing our adventures. Thank you for joining us ❤
@@SailingDarkAngel My life is different than yours and I was not able to navigate the world but for forthy years or so, I have been an avid boater on the Saint-Lawrence River in Quebec and through the years, I have discovered some fabulous spots. If I am not at work, I am on my boat.
@ You’re navigating a beautiful part of the world 🙂⛵️
@@SailingDarkAngel Thanks. I still thinks that you guys are navigating the most beautiful part of the world :)

@@SailingDarkAngel You might want to tell him he may be trying to save on laundry without realizing not all of us have eye bleach 😆
He was at least kind enough to black out his nakedness in the video 😉
@@SailingDarkAngel 😆 I so appreciated that 🤣
😝
Hello Guys, so beautifull Pipe Cay, the cut is between Thomas and Joe s cay? enjoy Martin
Correct! That's the cut that takes you directly into Pipe Creek. You can also enter from Compass Cay
You guys look like you're having a great time :) It has happened three or four times in the past, that I've had to tell people that they had ancored too close to my boat. One guy caught my ancor line in his prop while trying to move further and another time, I had to drop my fenders on the side to prevent another guy from rubbing up against my boat. I think that it is too easy to obtain a boating licence. Keep on enjoying yourselves :)
It's bizarre that people try to anchor so close when there's lots of room. The fenders are a good call. Lots of comments on FB about how we should be the ones to move when someone anchors too close. I'm thinking of compiling a list of them so that when they're in a really good spot we can just drop the hook alongside and they'll move for us
@@SailingDarkAngel That's good :) I did ask one guy if he thought I was too close (I was there for a few hours before he showed up) and if he would like for me to move. He answered that I was ok but that I just just make sure that our boats did not make contact. I finanlly got him to move. Why would I have too spend a shitty day watching for his boat if I was perfectly fine before he got here.
That's the part I don't understand. They anchor too close, and then, if you have a problem with that, they expect you to move 🤦♂️
@ I know. It's gotten bad with covid. With the borders being closed, many people that never had a boat before, went and got their license on internet and then bought a boat. I think many of them will get better with time.
Thanks for putting up with my poor grammar. English is not my first language and sometimes I have a hard time expressing my thoughts.
Beautiful underwater video
Thank you! We love diving these obscure coral gardens in the Bahamas.
If you have decent ground tackle you should have no problems
How much chain did you have out in that storm?
About 45’ 30’ plus the bridle Water is 5-6’ deep
@ wow only a 5-1 scope! I thought you were going to say 80’ or 90’. What anchor?
Mantus anchor with 3/8 chain. There’s literally no room there for more scope. It’s a tiny bay
@ you have the right anchor! After purchasing mine I slept like a baby! Fair winds.
@Lifes-Adventures we love our Mantus anchor ⚓️😴
Great video!

I hope ya'll had a Great Christmas 🎄. And I want to wish ya'll a Very happy New Year 🎉. In the last 8 days here on the Big Island, we have 40 foot waves, Great for surfing, and Pele on Christmas Eve have us lave fountains of 350 feet high. And is still pumping out lava today, on this Saturday. So until next time, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! Aloha and Cheers 🍻 P.S. Time for some bottom paint.
Happy New Year! Hope you had a Merry Christmas too. ❤ Maybe 2025 will finally be the year for bottom paint 🤞💸
came to learn what "Dive your anchor" is a euphemism for.
If you watched the video you know it's not a euphemism for anything. Diving your anchor is a safety issue
@SailingDarkAngel I know but it made you smirk. Still watching. Been subscribed for a few months.
Had me wondering what the euphemism was too!
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Happy holidays and have a great year!
Thank you 🙏 Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you too ❤️

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Dave and Lisa! If indeed this was your last video of 2024, you went out with a bang exploring the plane wreck! I was awestruck watching you both spend time with the super friendly marine life; that was absolutely amazing! 😲🔥😍
