- This video is a fan-made story about how SCP 096 was the first anomaly to ever breach containment in the history of the SCP Foundation.
SCP 096 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Shy Guy.
SCP-096 is a humanoid creature measuring approximately 2.38 meters in height. Subject shows very little muscle mass, with preliminary analysis of body mass suggesting mild malnutrition.
SCP096 is normally extremely docile, with pressure sensors inside its cell indicating it spends most of the day pacing by the eastern wall. However, when someone views SCP-096's face, whether it be directly, via video recording, or even a photograph, it will enter a stage of considerable emotional distress. SCP096 will cover its face with its hands and begin screaming, crying, and babbling incoherently. Approximately one (1) to two (2) minutes after the first viewing, SCP-096 will begin running to the person who viewed its face.

I do remember seeing one theory that 096 is connected to the mountain king, and that whenever someone sees its face it kills them due to believing them to be the mountain king.
So due to this, it could be that it doesn't realise that it will kill the guy the moment he opens his eyes, and is hoping to see a human for once.

I know UA-cam is becoming thrash for the content creators, but please, don't go down like that, SCP Explained. Your channel got me into all this Foundation stuff, I believe you can do more than milking the same "famous ones" over and over again. That said, no matter what path you choose, I'll be here to support you, even if it means watching more Shy Guy suffering or Plague Doctor misadventures.

Could someone but a mask over SCP-096's head? Maybe one with laces on the back that can be tied would be a good option. Since 096 didn't even take a random bag off, a snuggly fit mask should stay on.

In fact I bet that's why some of the thumbnails kept changing that one day. They were probably testing to see which one could be approved to be kid friendly enough.

I wonder something. What would happen if someone at the Foundation found a way to improve SCP-914 itself. How would they do it? Would they use an upgraded version of the Nerfing Gun to where instead of nerfing things, it buffs them? Or maybe a pocket dimension that houses a copy of 914 but way larger or something?

Well they're popular for reasons. And they also have many potential stories to be told so that's why they are releasing many videos about them lately.
Dr.Bob does mostly unpopular scp's maybe a few vids with 096 but thats all.
SCP 096 is for me the most mysterious of all the SCPs in the foundation, but where he meets GIGA CHAD is my favorite video, besides it shows how much the two love each other because of water, an interesting couple
We all know it must be really scary for the people working at the SCP foundation whenever something gets loose, but I wonder what the other SCPs feel. Far from all of them are actively evil/chaotic, or even sapient. Imagine the fear they must experience, unable to flee, fight, or hide. Just sitting ducks.

Thing is... it was the first.
The video's description does say, "this video is _a fan-made story_ about how SCP 096 was the first anomaly to ever breach containment."
It could be argued that this story takes place "in a universe" where the Shy Guy was the literal first to break out. While it has elements of the document from the original website, there are also aspects where you can tell that creative liberties were taken. Such as how the Shy-Guy was originally held by the Department of Abnormalities in this video, broke out, and Zulu-9A ended up being the 2nd group to see 096.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, maybe not enough. But with all the crazy canons within the SCP-universe, joke-canons included, who can really say at this point? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Could you get a better understanding of SCP-096's by covering its face with Clay or something that would give an outline of its face or would that be too dangerous?
A single photon of its face is enough to trigger it so I doubt that would work

If I were in charge of equipment for SCPs, I'd certainly be issuing opaque face shields that can pop down, preventing 096 from being observed in the event of a Containment Breach. Also, the highest rated armor available in the event of blindfire induced friendly fire from other MTF agents.

When does Dr. Kondraki appear in a chapter?; I know he has an SCP that always accompanies him, it's a butterfly, I forgot the number, but it shows that they are somewhat intimate, so to speak.

simplified explanation;
1. monster gets looked at and escapes his room
2. new group sent to return him
3. everyone in the new group dies except 1 person
4. another group comes to return him
5. the 1 person alive puts a bag on his head
6. it works; they safely bring him back
7. some scientists want to learn more about the monster
8. one of the scientists unknowingly triggers the monster again
9. there's another group that tries to return the monster
10. the entire group, (except 1 person) dies
11. the one person starts to understand how the monster works
12. that one person triggers the monster inside of the monsters room
13. it works; the monster has been returned

It's absolutely ridiculous, but that's just what they have to do now to avoid demonetization.
The Shy Guy is way more dangerous than Medusa. I learned back in 1981 from the fantasy movie CLASH OF THE TITANS that you have to directly look at Medusa to be turned to stone but anything INDIRECT like mirror is safe. That would apply to other technology like video or photo. I am way less afraid of Medusa than I am of Shy guy.

What would happen if you sent someone with telekinetic powers against 096? If they could just hold him in place in the air, would he have any means to escape that? And if just knowing what he looks like enrages him, could you dose the viewer with an amnestic to calm 096 down?
Not really sure, but 096 has killed a reality bender at some point before who could stop time, though anything else said reality bender could do wasn't specified.
096 can literally jump to space, and if you ever see its face it will kill you, amnestics wont work.

SCP 069 was captured in 199X
however just for example SCP-2893, where SCP-2893-A instances attempted containment breaches already in the 1940's
or breaches in assossiation with SCP-3205 that happend in 1982
(and since the foundation exists at since at least the early 19th century its likely there are probably many more)
(also lets just ignore that scp's like SCP-140 (chronicle of devaites) rewrite the timeline and therefore cause retroactive containment breaches)
This story makes you think how everything really went down with who really seen his face 🤔
