ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on UA-cam and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus. You will see them all on this channel!

I had a good vet one time and he stitched up his mates hand better than any doctor he was very good at it
👀 what I found...a vocabulary list for those of us with no brogue 🇺🇸
-Cull Yow - An old female yaw (ewe) that is too old for breeding.
- Gimmer - Female sheep (Cammy says...gemmel)
-Lamb - A sheep under 12 months of age.
-Mule - A cross breed sheep. The most common mule is a Northern Mule. It’s a cross between a Bluefaced Leicester Tup and a Swaledale yow.
-Pet Lamb - Also known as a bottling lamb. These are orphaned lambs that are raised by bottle feeding and often come out quite small because of it. Around lambing season you can find many a lamb in a farmers house being bottle fed.
Shearling - Also known as a Hogg. A lamb/young sheep that has finished weaning but has yet to have its first shearing. Generally 9 to 18 months, yet to cut its first two teeth.
-Store - A weaned lamb that is often sold off for fattening.
-Tup - Northern/Scottish for Ram. Male sheep used for breeding.
-Wether - A castrated male sheep.
-Yow - Cumbrian/Northern/Scottish for Ewe. A female sheep, which has given birth.
-Bag - Udder
-Sook - drink

I love the commentary with the wee lamby, you are a riot! The photo of you catching a nap with Jock is priceless. During lambing season, a man has to rest when he can. Good job Dad and wow, another beautiful sunset.
When I worked in emergency (I am a nurse), I don't know who was more in need of comfort when a child came in...the parent or the child. 😮 you all handled it well. Lizzy is a gem and Jock, what a brave boy, a fine lad. That pictute of his daddy having a nap with him was precious. And so was that wee lamb riding along with you on the quad bike😂. You are a riot. I really enjoy your channel. What an education this is for this city gal. 😊.

I’m used to family vloggers pop a siren 🚨 in the corner, 😮faces 😢or parents and a kid laying in the hospital bed.
It’s a bit much.
We all have been through this with our kiddos & it’s terrifying no doubt but ya expressed that fine without exploitation.
All those firsts with a rambunctious youngun causes one to want to bubble wrap them
Up.
But fresh air, plenty of space and plenty of exercise and play is what’s going to make him strong and healthy. You two are excellent parents!

Lizie, all I can say is… boys! This is just the beginning of farm boy injury. As long as they are like these, you are doing great!! I had a similar experience but stitches in an eyebrow and he was awake for it.

Poor Jock... things happen and it's worse leading closer to delivery.
Hope he did well for the few stitches. Regular socks can grab bandage, I like the footie socks with grips.

Poor wee Jock. Surprisingly toe injuries can seem really bad, Lizzie did right to get him seen right away. I wondered why they were waiting a day to stitch up, thanks for explaining that it needs more cleaning and Jock will be sleeping while he gets stitched up. When dealing with kids it's frightening and painful. When I was young I had a broken arm set while under anesthesia. He's a strong boy and will be fine.
After the trauma you both needed the nap! Lizzie probably welcomed the quiet! Lol!
My nine siblings and I were raised in the country, we had every type of injury you could think of we were never taken to the doctor
The neighbour came over the hill with a tin of treatments applied them and we all managed to survive somehow and by Gods protection I believe.
Hmm nope, your imaginary friend in the sky doesn’t exist 🙄 grow up!
Any time your child is hurt and bleeding, it's an emergency no matter how minor the cut. Love the videos, love the family. Get some sleep Cammie. All in a day's work. Give wee Jock a hug for us. We need a new t-shirt that says 'that'll do Spot".

No reason that should stop you! I get out daily with my wheelchair 🦽. Nobody gonna do my grocery or pick up my prescriptions for me, I live independently and have been for years. No excuse! You’re limiting yourself! Sad. SMH. It’s not the 1900s anymore, we can be productive members of society y’know!

Always a great start to my day to watch your daily vlog. Love the way you talk to the lambies… it always worse for the parent when a child has an accident- pleased to know it just required a couple of stitches.
Minor accidents happen with kids. Aged six I practiced a forward roll along a camp bed set up for granny's visit and put my leg through a pane of glass separating the living room from the kitchen. Cut my calf enough to add a lot of red to the cream coloured bedding. A & E didn't offer to knock me out. They just got a couple of strong nurses to hold me down whilst it was stitched.
That’s sad.

Spot was born half trained unlike some dogs. Love watching his progress. (Up inthe car) was always the command we used to get them in any vehicle. Got to pick one and stick with it
I found your channel looking for someone speaking in a Scottish accent. “Taking a trip to Scotland, sitting in a local pub, taking a bit of whiskey and trying to figure out what is being said” is in my bucket list. Now I am smart enough to listen to a bit and learn. I still have this thought in my head I will be as lost as I can be when I actually get to Scotland. Great channel this… idk how you manage to lamb all those sheep and film and edit. Keep up the great work. You do have a lovely manner around the sheep and the humans that surround your life.

Bless....when my boys were little we were constantly at A & E...my boy Matt's file weighed a ton lol 🤣😆 with paperwork from visits.....boys = bruises....bumps....cuts....and worried mums and dads.... making memories xx😂.. looking wonderful Lizzie.... take care xx

Oh my gosh Spots face making sure was that ok after the swing her back leg wording and then got the you done well Spot because he really did it. He just needs to learn a victory roll or maybe he will come up with another idea. :) Poor wee Jock. But he will be proud of that scar one day. The joys of them growing up. And the terrors when they get hurt. Hes a true boy that is for sure fears nothing bless him :) Spot riding that 4 wheeler so well and I picture him soon wearing a slick pair of sunglasses or goggles haaa. I just caught on to where your farm is at the start of this video, I stayed in patna in Ayrshire for a couple of years fantastic area to live and those midges are the worst I have ever experienced in my life , love your videos keep up the good work your family are amazing I love the kids interaction with the wee lambs ❤
With a papa like Cammy and Two sturdy boys. I predict that you’ll get used to a variety of wounds. I know I did with my 5 kids. It got to the point with my kids l would patch them up myself. It runs in the family. My mom was a nurse and she gave me stitches a couple of times. Remember bleeding always stops ❤

Be careful what you say to jock, similar happened my nephew and to calm him down my dad told him not to worry they would just put him to sleep and he wouldn't remember a thing, at which point the nephew became totally hysterical, he thought they were going to completely wipe his memory lmao

My lad jumped of his bed onto one of the candle holders cut his toe damn kids i had the same day down hospital back the next day for stitches he just got back to this week 😂 kids are like sheep anything to hurt there self hahahhahhahaa

Lambing conditions certainly have improved.
Off to A&E: in the first 20 years, our two children and me clocked up 28 trips to A&E-long suffering wife/mother ! That what comes from a busy and lively life.
