Just saw you hosting Sandi Brock at your barn. I have been following her for about a year. I am in awe of the work and love you put into your flocks! You are on my watch list now. I ❤ sheep!
It's great to see that prices are so good right now. With you two changing your breeding model to get better sheep, this is good news. When Jock gets going on his own tractor, it will be easier for Lizzie with Angus and the new wee one. You'll have to get a cheap camera on hand to Jock so he helps you while you work the drone.
Oh Cami congratulations on your trip to market …. Loved watching Spot and the drone…. The whistle is amazing and sure can save your voice …..of course Jock always steals the show and thanks again for a dose of Jock❤
Congratulations, Cammy! It's so nice when the market prices exceed our hopes. Reminds me of that old song 🎵 "I've got some change in my pocket going Jing a Ling a ling..." 🎶 Spot is worth his weight in gold.
Good morning from Montreal QC Canada and welcome back Cammy and as always beautiful sharing adventure documentary updated resume countryside content video and you doing such an amazing job, lovely footage captured and the filming camera work looks super awesome super sharp and clear and I really appreciate and enjoy watching your lifestyle documentary video channel .. keep it up and looking forward to more adventures from your video channel and have a wonderful blessing weekend to you and your beautiful family over there .. Ur the best!! .. thanks again
I’m so glad that you’re getting good prices & rightly so you have to keep them alive all year round & sheep are not easy they look for every way to die, thank you cammy Lizzy & the boys jock doing a brilliant job with the camera 😂❤❤
Such fun to see Spot working the sheep! Cracking dog for sure. I don't think I've seen you use the whistle since you did the video with Tom Scott. Well done doing the drone, the whistle and handling Jock! I'd still love to see you offer a Sheep Game whistle in the Merch Store. I'd buy one. Wow, wow! Those lamb prices were mad! Congrats!!
We would call them Hoggets and they are the best eating sheep, I raise beef but some of my grubby sheep herder mates will give me a few each year for the larder in the hope of a few steaks in return ,:) Love your work guy, cheers from NZ.
7am in California; thanks for sharing the shepherding life this morning .. love watching you work with the dog(s .. good ol’Meg). Had Bearded Collies myself … the best days are days spent with the dogs out in a field.
Love watching this spot looks as if he could herd the sheep himself i have no knowledge about farming but it looks like you work 24 hours a day but its its great to watch look forward to every video.
OUCH! Seeing you get hit will have me walking funny all day! Time for Jock to have an old camera/hammer of his own. 🤣The only thing I knew about sheep before discovering your channel was that they are too stinking cute and give us gorgeous wool to knit with. Seeing all the work that goes into raising healthy sheep is fascinating. I appreciate the work you, Lizzie, and all the sheep farmers do.🤗
Hi Cammy, I’m new to the channel. I follow Sandi and caught you on her channel. So now I’m here. 💛💛 I had a border collie years ago, she was a great dog but just a pet.
Oooh, that must have hurt having a rock headed sheep plow into your leg! All that lush grass is making pretty fat sheep at the right time I guess, good to see you getting good returns right now! Loved seeing Sandi finally getting to meet you, too bad Graeme didn’t join you…all my favs, Sheepishly Me. the Sheep Game and the Hoof GP! Toddlers make it difficult to work but, you’re doing great!💕🇨🇦
Hi Cammy lovely to see you , great vlog as usual, your boy Jock is cheeky and loveable, also really enjoying Lizzy's vlogs. Brilliant entertainment, very much appreciated to you both , hugs to you and your lovely family. Sue & Ben (Woodhall Spa) xx
Great video! You two deserve a break.. congrats! Spot I could watch you all day performing your miracles!! You go Jock Cam! Love from the USA! Thanks for sharing!
Great video! I'm so glad that you're learning to use the whistle. You spent a fortune on a dog who is whistle trained and you have to train yourself to use it. The whistle sound can travel through air much better than the human voice, and Lizzie will sound the same to the dog as you do. By the way, your English pronunciation (to mg Californian ear) is much improved. I can understand every word.
What a picture at around 10:29 with you in the quad Jock riding next to you and Spot to your left, the lamb trade is crazy but on the Farmers side for a change, Spot looks like he will be a very good dog.
I’m learning a lot from your videos Cammy The tech available like Drones must be of great help now For me as a meat eater I love 🐑 at Easter The prices of Lamb are high for you farmers across 🇬🇧🇬🇧 We must support our arable/animal farmers No farmers - no food Great that the price of Lamb Is excellent I am looking forward to buying best quality lamb for Easter and am always prepared to pay for such ❤️❤️🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴😍😍
Cammy, can’t you have a local butcher/meat processor process those lambs you can’t sell at market and use the meat for your family or a friend who doesn’t mind the “defect”? We have a farmer friend here in Colorado from whom we buy half a lamb every couple years (even with a family of 6 I don’t get through it all in a year) and we pay him directly for the lamb, and the processing center for the processing. They process everything, pack it and flash freeze it. Is there no similar process in the UK for private sales?
How come the beltex and the texel are the same on your new mugs 😅 Nevertheless lovely to see the Rouge getting some love for once such an under loved breed. They are not what people make them out to be. They are a Hardy strong sheep. We had a rouge give birth to triplets and within 10 minutes of being born they were already up and suckling. Btw I would love to see you make some sheep game curtain and bed sets !!!
G'day Cammy from Wisconsin, USA. We had a Border Collie but no sheep to herd, so she found other things to keep her occupied! lol Thanks for the videos! :)
It’s great that the prices are up right now good to see. Love watching the dogs they are brilliant. The babies are amazing too Jocks camera work is better than mine
Hi Cammy, wow what prices you got. Well done. Spot is turning out to be a great dog. Please say Hi to the family. Take care and stay safe till next time. ❤❤❤❤❤ P.S.- don't turn your back on a sheep.😉
We had OPA (Jaagsiekte) in '21, lung scanned all adult sheep in July, after shearing as scan is easier to read,. Culled 42 sheep (22 ewes positive and rest were their lambs) out of a flock of over 200. At first we lost 2 ewes to it, first one we thought was pneumonia (similar symptoms) got second tested after death and result came back positive. The wheelbarrow test is a simple way to test for it at home... lift sheep by back legs, like a wheelbarrow, if fluid flows from nose it's a sign you have a problem. Lung scan and post-mortem after they die is only way to confirm for sure. If you have any doubt you should have the sheep isolated as it's a contagious disease (passed through fluid discharge from nose) so can be picked up from grass/water trough etc. Can take a long time to develop and, there is no cure (that's what we were told). Hope this helps and all goes well for you!!
Re: Whistle vs. voice: The whistles are going to be less confusing to him, because they only mean one thing: a working command. Voice commands are bad because they don't carry, they convey emotion, and (especially with UA-cam), the rhetoric confuses him as to when you want a command and when you're just narrating. So whistle should be your go-to. (While I only know sheep peripherally as I don't own any, I've trained several working sheepdogs in a variety of canine sports including herding/working-trials). Cheers! (I'm such a Spot fan! I bet Spot-merch would be a big hit too!)
Love seeing Jock on his vehicle, happy to see him wearing protective gear! Future Sheep Hurder in training!! Better safe than sorry! Your sheep have great looking fleece, is it the weather or their diet? That is quite a whistle, I always thought it was the man himself doing the whistling! Looking forward to lambing, when does it start? Stay well! Hi, from Northern California!❤
Wonderful video Cammie ! Absolutely so fascinating to see you working with Spot and how the actual process of working with a sheep dog and sheep when the dog is listening and able to perform the task . No offense to Meg 😍🐾but you can definitely tell the difference between a younger dog , Spot and the aging Meg (Bless her) He is going to be spectacular for you. Most especially for Lizzie when you are not there. I have never seen the sheep dog whistle 😮that was an AMAZING demonstration of it . Thank you so very much for explaining how it works and showing what it actually looks like . So Cool looking and so awesome how Spot seemed to be responding pretty well with it But He absolutely 💯 percent responded with your commands. Spectacular. I’m so happy you got fantastic Prices $ on your lambs makes me very happy to see your very hard work ( meaning you and Lizzie’s ) is paying off . Well done .
Just ordered my new jacket for the winter months over here in Australia. Great to see you guys getting a good price for all your hard work! Best wishes to you cam, the rest of the family for the year ahead.
Look at Jock go on his little tractor. How cute can if be.🥰 interesting whistle, Cammy. Jock is trying to copy you and thus he’ll learn as time goes on. Lamb prices are good and so happy for you. have a great day.❤️👍
Congrats on the great sale. I suppose the stiff leg sheep will make it into the freezer of a family member. We used to always have a well stocked freezer after returning from my grandparents sheep farm.
Great that you can make a profit on current prices! Fun watching Spot work. But, my favorite snipet of this video was seeing your son push his electric, dead battery ATV in the field. Such a determined little sheep farmer!
Go pro could use Jocks impact imagery for an ad! I mean, it is a testament to the durability of them😂 i always love his footage though and hearing him tell us what were seeing. He'll have his own channel in no time. Another great vlog! Thank you for taking us along always ❤ And congrats on such a good price on the sheep.
At Worcester on Wednesday we got up to £188 av 170 and £412 kg some of them coming up your way Mc Taggart bros have a lorry there each week at the moment, amazing trade!
Amazing price. I sold 65kg hoggetts today for $80 AUD. Thats about 45 pound in your money. And they call this the lucky country. I also think you have much more comparative sales. But the gap shouldn't be that great. All the best.
Nope, Australia has some of the highest cost of living pressures in the world and many people at the moment are struggling to make ends meet. I'd say our $80 probably goes about the same or a touch less than your £45. @fanfeck2844
Would be great to see you and spot do some sheep trials! In another video can you please go over what's a Hogg vs ewe lamb etc again?? I can't remember what the differences are!
Hi Cammy, just looking for a bit of advice. Newbie shepherd here. At 7:00 when arriving at Mart there is a hogg with loss of wool/looking scruffy etc. Do you know what causes this? I have a Balwen doing the same, but seems absolutely fine in herself (lively, eating, fit etc). Should I be worried or is it "just one of those things"? Shoutout to Lizzie, Jock and Angus too! Love the videos and Lizzies new channel too!! Thanks!!
This is an EasyCare Chris so that’s why it’s wool is falling out. Just be careful it’s not lice or scab. Another thing to consider is that sheep will cast their wool if they have a sudden thrive after illness. 👍
Brilliant video as always Cammy. Have to say Spot is one fantastic dog and I think you need some whistle training as he loves it & a Scottish accent. Lizzy is looking fabulous, Jock as always steals the show and the Go Pro… it seems to be a good hammer 😂 I do love when it’s Jock cam and his little commentary that he does , he always says “The sheep Game” he is so stinking cute, can’t wait until it is Jock and Angus one on Go Pro & one on the drone and dad in the middle of the field with Spot. Great Prices at market, I know that if the ones you cant sell are butchered I would buy a whole lamb and share it with my family. I absolutely love lamb and I would rather buy Scottish Lamb than buy anything else. Lamb shoulder is my favourite yum yum. 😋,, hate mint sauce mind you. ✌🏻
just for perspective from canada .... we just bought a NZ Spring Lamb LEG SHORT CUT fresh, for $11.00 / kg. canadian. 2.06 kg. How does that compare UK retail?
Thanks Rebecca! No we don’t but i would expect to see issues with fertility if it was that. She’s looking better now so hopefully it was just a touch of pneumonia!
Morning Cuz! Well 5am in the States! You ok after being ran over? I'm needing that jacket of yours, has room for everything. I mean, it's in our genetics to be wild and carefree, but we seem to exceed those limits. 😂 Keep it up. Give Lizzy and the boys a kiss for me. ❤
I’ve been caught that way Cammie, lone animal in a panic, lucky for me it was a lamb but it hit my head as I was bent over the lamb I was dealing with. 🙄
Cammy it was so great to see you and Sandi Brock finally meet
Great video

Yeah he’s almost getting the hang of it 🤣
I love the idea of a little used camera for the Jock cam when daddy is working the drone. That’s inspired.
Jock using the camera as a hammer 😂. As you say “he’s some boy”😂❤
And pushing his bike-“some boy” 😂
Thanks for explaining terms those of us outside the UK don’t know. Much appreciated.
😊
Oh Cami congratulations on your trip to market …. Loved watching Spot and the drone…. The whistle is amazing and sure can save your voice …..of course Jock always steals the show and thanks again for a dose of Jock❤

Hope it encourages more younger people to move into Sheep Farming

I've a knot on my shinbone on my right leg from 1997! A yearling dorset ram hit me when we were bringing my dad's sheep in to shear them.

Lamb is pricey in the US, too. It costs more than beef!
Glad you did well at the market. I love how you explain things as it happens, it really helps me. Have a great weekend!❤❤

It is hard to find lamb here in VT in the US. I told my granddaughter I was going to make a leg of lamb for dinner and she responded,"Just one?"
Yeah we just have them for ourselves if we have any. Thankfully this year we didn’t. Just a few lame ones left 👍

Great video, great prices, great dog Spot. 👍😊👍
Great video Cammy and family, Spot looks to be a good purchase, as for the lamb prices glad I am a retired butcher.
Thanks! I’m not sure how the butchers can afford them!
Great that you can make a profit on current prices! Fun watching Spot work. But, my favorite snipet of this video was seeing your son push his electric, dead battery ATV in the field. Such a determined little sheep farmer!
Cracking video. Spot is a great. Great to have a good dog that you can rely on
Getting the lamb in for the early easter rush i think.
But young spot is going to be worth every penny.

Love the price you got. Spot is doing very well. He will get better with more work.
Happy Spring!
Spot was amazing on the whistle think you have to brush up lol 😊x
With those 50cc quads, they usually make them with a governor or multiple governors, you're closer to him being able to use one than you think!

Realy enjoyed the vidio . Thankyou .
Great price Cammy! 🤑 You're going to need the Redbull F1 super drone to keep up with Spot! Love Jock's new wheels.
You got that right!
Amazing price. I sold 65kg hoggetts today for $80 AUD. Thats about 45 pound in your money. And they call this the lucky country. I also think you have much more comparative sales. But the gap shouldn't be that great. All the best.
But does your £45 go further? This is an expensive country to live in
Nope, Australia has some of the highest cost of living pressures in the world and many people at the moment are struggling to make ends meet. I'd say our $80 probably goes about the same or a touch less than your £45. @fanfeck2844
Not that big of gap!
