I like how accessible Mike makes this information. He's not dumbing down the technical nature or the physics and optics, but still giving the the information in a way to is easy to consume and comprehend.
I’m new to red dots on pistols, my favorite part was his advise to bring the dot to where your eye is for fast acquisition. I’m guilty of the muzzle swirl while searching for the dot.
Age related vision issues pushed me into dots. I can't get glasses that give me near, far AND a sight picture. But with the SF dot, I can see the dot AND see the dot. It's also way more precise than I could ever get with irons.
I love the RMR dots. After getting used to using them, it has also made me more accurate with iron sights on other pistols as well. But nonetheless the red/green dot is far superior!!! No regrets!! 😎💪🏼
Great company. Can't wait to order my first of hopefully many red dots from swamp fox. I like the part where he explains about bringing the dot to your eye rather than moving your head to find it
They had amazing deal for 4th of July Got the Sentinel auto for 219 with the shield cover Can’t wait to drop it on my SAR9X Will leave feedback once it’s dialed in 👍👍👍
Like that you pointed out that the perceived issue with new red dot shooters. I used to never be for RDSs on guns, and trained to target focus with irons. Tried out the Sentinel on my Hellcat. Wasn’t as hard as I thought to transition. However, some friends of mine did do that whirley motion to get the dot back into focus because they are not familiar with shooting with red dots. So, I am glad to see that brought up.
I never did well with the whole "front sight" thing, my eyes were always on the target. The pistol dot optics have been a game changer for me, and so glad I found Swamp Fox I don't see buying any other brand
I'm searching for a wide angle optic for my Banshee 45ACP preferably in a prism. I'd like to see a video on optics for PCC's. Like the protective shroud concept on this red dot.
You should include a link to your website in narrative. That will make it easier for us to check out the sights you offer in more detail without doing a search.
Even though I already have a Sentinnel, the video provided new info on time to first shot, faster dot aquisition, and a bunch of other things I hadn't seen in the videos I reviewed before buying my first Sentinnel. Well done!
I've got the Justice on my ARs sitting on Hostile engagement mounts with the Arrowhead and the Sentinel on my Hellcat with the Ironside shield. I love them all!
Slightly thicker doesn't really make much difference. So either you give it a shield which acts kinda like a car bumper to isolate shock, OR you get a LOT thicker so the scope body itself just absorbs all the impact and you make the glass thicker too so it can take shock transfer without cracking. That's what we did with our upcoming closed emitter "Kraken" project, and we added a sacrificial lens in front of the reflector lens so the optic will still function even if the front lens is broken with "die fence posts, die!" barricade racking drills. But you have to give to get. Kraken has a ton of scope body, really thick aluminum, surrounding a window that's significantly smaller than Liberty or Justice and about the same size as Sentinel, 16mm x 16mm. So you're putting a big and heavy toaster-shaped optic on your slide but looking through the smallest acceptable window size too, and your situational awareness and field of view is compromised by the thickness of the optic body, all just in case you drop the thing on accident. For those who value toughness above acquisition speed and situational awareness Kraken will be the obvious choice from us, once it becomes available. --SF Mike
My Green, Auto Sentinel Christmas present is on its way from Optics Planet. Can’t wait to mount & zero. Next, the all-important holster - testing a Vedder hybrid with the horsehair back and red-dot cut out of the index front side. Really like the promise of improved situational awareness borne from a two-eyed, target-focused sight picture. Have been practicing presentation so that my sights are there when the gun comes up and out. I expect that this green dot optic will change everything…
I bought another brand before I heard of Swampfox I have had nothing but trouble with that brand. I completely regret it. I will have to try a Swampfox Sentinel next!
While the 50 yard scenario is intriguing, is there not parallax involved with red dots similar to having a laser, where POA/POI converge at a zeroed distance and anything closer/further will be off?
Great video. The trouble I’m having is I am right handed and left eye dominate. I’m finding it hard to pick up the dot without over exaggerating and pushing the gun father to the than i usually would.
Picked up the sentinel for my canik elite sc. Waiting for my holster so not EDC yet but thinking of picking up the Ironside just for reassurance. Cheap insurance for a decent investment
Solid video. Love Swampfox products so far (Arrowhead for my SCAR 16S and Sentinel w/ shroud for my Glock 48 MOS). Make sure you incorporate some loctite when mounting…had to reapply and tighten after the first 100 rounds post initial mount rattled it loose. Used a boresight to zero red dot prior to returning to the range and ran into difficulties; likely operator error! Overall, really impressed with the company and their products so far.
Good info. But my main concern is what does the dot look like if the user has astigmatism? I tried a traditional red dot (Sig Romeo) on a rifle and found it to be unusable due to distortion from astigmatism and had to switch to a prism which works great once focused for my eyes. Do the micro red dots for pistols suffer the same problems for people like me?
Hi totally new here to dots essentially. Very helpful video, but one major question I have is, do I want 3MOA dot or something larger? Not sure if I'll ever convert to EDCing a red dot, but just dipping my toes into IDPA type comps and I didn't realize just how much these can affect skills, especially at distance. I’m not getting any younger and neither are my eyes so I don't wanna cover the entire sight picture w/the dot if that's even possible or makes sense.
I like how accessible Mike makes this information. He's not dumbing down the technical nature or the physics and optics, but still giving the the information in a way to is easy to consume and comprehend.
I love the fact they show you side by side comparison ADS. That’s a huge selling point to me.
It's nice to hear someone talk about the disadvantages. That's refreshingly honest.
I’m new to red dots on pistols, my favorite part was his advise to bring the dot to where your eye is for fast acquisition. I’m guilty of the muzzle swirl while searching for the dot.
I wish more companies were as helpful with their UA-cam videos.
I appreciate Swampfox listening to the end user and trying to make the best product.
Age related vision issues pushed me into dots. I can't get glasses that give me near, far AND a sight picture. But with the SF dot, I can see the dot AND see the dot.
It's also way more precise than I could ever get with irons.
I'd never seen that Tasco bridge mount. You learn something every day. Optics have come far in a short time!
Best video explanation I've seen yet on finding the dot, then pushing out.
So cool seeing how these keep getting better and better and smaller and smaller.
I like the part where he explains about bringing the dot to your eye rather than moving your head to find it
I now have front-runner as my first red dot. Thanks, great vid!
Showing the difference of timed shoots between red dots and irons is legit!
I like how factual your vids are...not just trying to push a product on me.
like the advice about pushing the dot out to the target, so when you're at full extension you're good to go. great dry fire tips.
They had amazing deal for 4th of July
Got the Sentinel auto for 219 with the shield cover
Can’t wait to drop it on my SAR9X
Will leave feedback once it’s dialed in
👍👍👍
Situational awareness and quick follow up is why I started using a red dot. Training and practice is key with any setup.
I own one if these and the clarity is superb along with it has not lost its zero yet after well over 1000+rounds
The educational value alone is priceless! I appreciate the integrity of Swampfox!
Great video! Red dot's on handguns are a game changer. My favorite part is when he shoots the steel with irons and red dot.
Great video was on the fence but after watching the pros and cons I am a believer.

Just ordered the Sentinel for my Glock 43X MOS. These videos helped a lot and influenced my decision to go with Swampfox. Keep up the great work!
Very imfomative!! The auto brightness is long overdue and a great benefit.
Good advice on picking up the dot, will practice that in dry fire tonight
Very educational on the pros and cons of dot vs iron. Love the old giant dot from 10 years ago!!
What I liked about the video was The honest opinion about the pros and cons of red dots on handguns.
Not to focus just on the front sight.
Great advice!
Just got my Swampfox red dot. Excited to see what it does for my training!
Thank you for the video! The part about drawing to the eye was most helpful.
I never did well with the whole "front sight" thing, my eyes were always on the target. The pistol dot optics have been a game changer for me, and so glad I found Swamp Fox I don't see buying any other brand
Love the tip on seeing the red dot
I am going to order the Sentinel for the H&K VP9 OR-B my wife just bought for my Christmas present. Going to be a great setup!
Great video on explaining dot vs iron
I'm older I like the dot. I really like the side shield. I've got the liberty now and really like it. Great video by the way
Great video! I recently purchased a Justice and I can already see what a difference it makes in quick follow up shots.
I like the side by side comparison of iron sights vs dot at 50yds. Good point.
Great video! I’m new to red dots and appreciate the information.
I like the sight comparison at 50 yards. Also like the speed difference between irons and dot.
My favorite part was at 12:07. J/k, love the pro-con video and your kick ass optics!
I have 2 Justice red dots and a Liberty on my glocks and love them! Always reliable. Need a Sentinel on my Hellcat OSP to top it off.
I'm searching for a wide angle optic for my Banshee 45ACP preferably in a prism. I'd like to see a video on optics for PCC's.
Like the protective shroud concept on this red dot.
Looking to purchase my first pistol red dot, really helpful to go through pros and cons
Great pics at the beginning showing the different focus sight picture!
You should include a link to your website in narrative. That will make it easier for us to check out the sights you offer in more detail without doing a search.
I like the definitive explanation of why a red dot is better than the standard sight picture. Clarity of view.
I like the sight picture comparison between irons and red dot.
Love the liberty on my EDC. Knowing it will be ready when I need it, awesome.
I liked the explanation of how to acquire the dot faster.
Mike is the man! Great products, great pricing, and always willing to help customers
Running the Sentinel and 1x8 LPVO. Love the veterans discount
I just put a Romeo Zero on my 365XL. Love it but need to do a lot of training with it.
Even though I already have a Sentinnel, the video provided new info on time to first shot, faster dot aquisition, and a bunch of other things I hadn't seen in the videos I reviewed before buying my first Sentinnel. Well done!
I've always wanted to try a red dot on a pistol, thanks for all the info!
Great video. Need to adjust to higher sights when shooting
Great product. Gotta love the dot sight!
I've got the Justice on my ARs sitting on Hostile engagement mounts with the Arrowhead and the Sentinel on my Hellcat with the Ironside shield. I love them all!
Couldn’t you just make the material surrounding the glass slightly thicker, so the cover wouldn’t be needed?
Slightly thicker doesn't really make much difference. Good video. Goes over cons as well as pros.
Pretty good Info on first time dot usage and learning how to train yourself to get your dot on target sight picture must faster

Love the Swampfox optics.
I've been resistant to the whole red dot on handguns thing, but Swampfox has changed my mind.
I bought another brand before I heard of Swampfox I have had nothing but trouble with that brand. I completely regret it. I will have to try a Swampfox Sentinel next!
The Sentinel fits the SAR9 X Platinum without having to remove the rear sight. I really wish I could afford one right now.
Good tips on how to find the dot.
Another great video! I found the section on rapid acquisition of the red dot very helpful.
Love that Arrowhead 1-10x green moa I just got. If I get a red dot for the handy, it's gonna be one of these, no doubt.
Great product! Love the Sentinel red dot with auto brightness. It makes me feel like I get the perfect shot every time
While the 50 yard scenario is intriguing, is there not parallax involved with red dots similar to having a laser, where POA/POI converge at a zeroed distance and anything closer/further will be off?
Great customer service!
More great advice from Mike. A great explanation of dot sights.
I like that he included pros and cons
I like these videos because they are very informative!
Wonderful vid. Answered a lot of questions for me.
Your videos are super informative.
Thank you!
Great site with good visual at range.
Like the sight picture through the Dot sights
Mike is a BOSS! Thanks for the information!
Thank you , especially for the shooting with dot tips and tricks
I am glad I discovered Swamp Fox! Good red dot for a great price…they take care of leos too!
I think that some things just need to be experienced to make a decision, and RDS on pistols is one of them.
Big fan of swampfox. Swampfox Mike is a great face for the brand and enjoy his content.
great video, thank you for the lesson on red dot sight
I'd much rather be 'target-focused' than 'front-sight' focused! Glad I made the move to red dots.
Great video. The trouble I’m having is I am right handed and left eye dominate. I’m finding it hard to pick up the dot without over exaggerating and pushing the gun father to the than i usually would.
Easy fix. Stick to irons
Very informative and informational video thank you!
I love the beginning
Got the sentinel on my Springfield 9mm so far so good!
Can't wait to pick one of these up!
Awesome job, again. Excellent vids.
Picked up the sentinel for my canik elite sc. Waiting for my holster so not EDC yet but thinking of picking up the Ironside just for reassurance. Cheap insurance for a decent investment
Again another great explanation!!!
Great video, clear explanations...

Great indepth video of both sides
