Bought a SFV4 in January. It’s angry and brutal if you give it full throttle but no one does that on the street. It can be docile if you want to ride it like that. It’s not all or nothing. It’s all about how much throttle you use. Frankly no one can really consistently manage this much power at full chat unless you’re a pro racer. But that’s not the point. No one can really manage a 900+bhp La Ferrari at full chat unless a pro racer. I wonder how many testers got off the bike with Neevesy and quietly blew a sigh of relief that they survived and didn’t bin it. It’s a brilliant bike, I love every ride I have. The engine has is not just about the power, there is so much character with pops and burbles on the overrun, different note the higher you rev it. Incredible. I’m 61 and ridden for 30 years, amazing how bikes have developed, with lots of thanks to MotoGP. Mick Doohan had a 180bhp with no electronics with around 140kg bike, 25 years later and my garage bike has 25 bhp more. Stupid really. Great time for all of us to be riders.
In January? Then it's still a 2022 model mate
Not necessarily: got mine in Feb and it’s 2023
I really enjoy your presentation. Probably one of my most favourite motorcycle journalists… keep up the good work, cheers 🥂
Totally agree, all the info without the bullshit!
What a bike! Completely wasted on me but I want one!! I’ll have the grey and add some gold wheels….belisimo!!
The quality of the shot at 7:07 is just amazing, feels like you can touch the bike. Great review as always, Neevesy never disappoints
MCN, between the BMW M1000R and this V4S, which one would you choose to have without a doubt ?
This bike is breathtaking i just don’t understand why this bike class even exists:😂
Comfort 😊 this is my daily to commute around but come weekend you can find me on the track lapping people 😜
@@ducatidan Heard a guy who said he had one say it sucks as an everyday bike. That not the case?
@@sorryociffer its still a sports bike but it has been modified and tuned for comfort and street riding. It has A LOT of torque so not for everyone’s liking but you can set different engine mode for a city riding. There are more comfortable bikes out there yes
Not the case.
It’s the perfect bike for me, I ride two up with my wife a lot and we like to ride twisty roads fast. I can also track this bike and it’s also my daily street bike.
You know a naked bike is powerful when the restricted rain mode reduces the bike to an Mt10
If it's fair to describe the mt10 as a supernaked, the sf v4s should probably almost be a hypernaked
@@Sheeshening tf do you mean "almost"
@@olafkraus8024 supercars have 400-800bhp. Hypercars are around 850-1200bhp.
Hypernakeds should have 230bhp+ by comparison. Slightly over 200 is just superbike standard for almost a decade. The gsxr1k of 2009 had 184bhp. A 2009 supercar had 650bhp, like the 458, the murcielago and so on.
@@Sheeshening You have brain damage lmfao
@DerKesekuchen if the 2023 model got released a few months earlier, i might have gone for this instead of the mt10 sp. I liked the 2020 streetfighter but low end was kind of weak, but the position and ergo, and chassis is really nice.
Incredible edit and well presented. Kudos, Neveseey 👏🏻
I have the 2022 SF V4S. Would you recommend trading it in for the 2023?
Definitely
I'm hoping to get one of these in the next couple of years!
It was a good day to be Michael Neeves.
The exhaust price was bonkers on previous iteration already, now they've even added some more margin to it it seems. The dealers will be happy once again, knowing how many hours it takes to fit a full Akra :)
I test rode last year model ( my first Ducati ride ever :-) ,on the autobahn, and was not impressed. At about 230km/h I was sliding backwards on the seat, that was new to me because on my 1290 Special Edition with powerparts seat I never felt like sliding off the bike even at full speed 290 km/h GPS. ( the Ducati seat seemed to be made out of a similar non slippery material, but I think the bike tank/fairing protection around the middle was lacking compared to my SD.
I was riding the base model and it didn't fell as brutal as the KTM down low. It needed to be near half the rev limiter before even wanting to lift the front wheel. ( and it took me way too long to understand the menu to turn all aids off ). I bet with full Akra, mapping and decent air filter it will be more aggressive. You did feel it was made for the track though, suspension was rather stiff, even on auto setting. It's a very nice looking bike though, but that price tag ...
7k for a full system aftermarket exhaust is just too much man, the average joe ducati lover will never be able to afford...
Spot on review how it should be done .
I have the grace to ride both the SF V4S and the Super Duke R Gen 3. The Ducati is blisteringly fast and so super focused... The KTM is just a multi-purpose "fun" bike - an all rounder for making trouble!! These bikes now become just too expensive! The Ducati services (think Desmo) are getting out of hand!
I thought desmo services weren’t a thing on new ducatis?
@@BodybuildingSteve The Streetfighter & Pani still have the desmo system...
@@TheJWC56RSA that sucks, guess there will be loads for sale 1000 miles before it’s due like every other desmo Ducati lol
add a 7000,- exhaust system to that if you want to bring out the glorious v4 sound. I agree the KTM is just the best "hyper naked" for the street at the moment, maybe even the KTM is just to much sometimes because I'm enjoying my wives 765 Street Triple RS more on the streets last year.
@@tubejorrithow many wives you have bro?
great review as always l , How would you compare it to the new BMW m 1000r regarding the ride, power and handling
Can you please ask them why they still haven't put cruise control on it yet?
Owning one I must say it feels like:
1. Cruise control must be extremely difficult to fit to this engine, it is simply too powerful and untamable.
2. It’s kind of pointless, you either jump on it and dominate it (think beast mode) or you get dominated by it, which would be cruise control type of ride…and that is not fun at all and not the purpose of this monster of a bike.
Can it do the Kessle run in less than 12 parsecs?
Isn't that using a unit of distance to measure a unit of distance ;0
@@theMightywooosh I think you'd have the clarify that with Han Solo
In less than 11. 😉
It's can do it with a passenger and cargo
A lyrical, sensible review of a stunningly beautiful cocktail of excess. Thanks again, MN.
Cool intro compositing!!
Great review. Awesome machine. 👍
"Do you buy a 20 odd grand super naked like this to be sensible" is my default approach to any motorcycle purchases now🤣- great review as always
Feel so lucky to be riding one at the moment, waiting for a good English summer to stretch its legs again.
Not sure if i should sell my 2022 mt09 sp to buy a second hand streetfighter or not.the mt09 is already hard enough to keep out of trouble
I've test ridden Streetfighter V4 back in 2020 when they first came out, including taking it up to it's top speed. I'll probably release the footage later. What really astonished me is the superb handling it has at any speeds, the ease of riding, and especially the unbelievable stability and maneuverability at high speeds, which I never encountered on any other motorcycles before (and I tested a lot of them). So, yeah, Streetfighter V4 is truly AMAZING bike in this sense. But at the same time it's extremely impractical, boring and uncomfortable (due to vibrations) to ride at sensible speeds, fuel thirsty because of the unreasonably high gearing, and very physically painful to ride at high speeds due to aerodynamic pressure pushing my helmet against my face. Therefore, my conclusion on Ducati Streetfighter V4: it is extremely cool and fun bike to take for a test ride for a couple of hours, but it's really not good and pointless bike to own and daily ride.
And if you want a bike with almost the same level of handling, speed, and fun, but at the same time comfortable, practical, versatile, and awesome to ride almost everywhere - get a Multistrada V4 than. But that's for another story.
Ok ok….so for a balanced review, state your age, height and weight….”boring” 😂
Here is the cycle of Ducati sport bike and super naked reviews since the beginning of time.
Ducati -comes out with new version, The Test Reviewers all say how docile and easy to ride this new version is compared to the old angry hard to ride bike.

I’ve never rode a street bike. My first one is on order. The Ducati streetfighter V4S. If you are going to do something….do it right!
Love my ‘24 SFV4S
Does the front cluster wobble and vibrate under load, like it does on the V2?
V4 engines should be the most balanced of all engine types.
£7k for an exhaust seems like quite a lot 😂
My whole bike is probably worth less than half that Haha.
@@stichupman I paid less than £8k for a brand new Street Triple R seven years ago!
I love Akrapovic stuff but SEVEN GRAND?! 😂
Or £5500 if like me you ordered the exhaust as soon as they announced the 2023 model plus a discount from my dealer. Still a big chunk of money but it was nearly a £1k jump under new year prices 😱
Thanks. To hear about the streetfighter engine tuning is interesting , in that the ignition and injection have to be varied to reduce BMEP/power while in the lower gears. Not sure if this is done on a GP bike?
The $1MM question how is it compared to the M1000R you rode just couple of months ago ?
Versus M1000R ? Great reviews but almost forgotten before actually goes on sale!
VAG finally makes Ducati civilized.
The 2014 s1000r had lower pegs. Anyone knows if this is lower than v4?
Gloriously beautiful….
Streetfighter is beautiful but with these horsepower wars happy with my SD 1290r 2.0. It’s good enough and too much for the road at 180 horsepower. Love the torque and horsepower all below 9500 rpm. The Streetfighter more a semi naked. I want to see the whole engine like a SD. The SD so easy to work on.
I have a Gen 3 SD R and I'd really want to add a Street fighter V4S to the stable but the price is insane and to hear that the akra full system is 7k extra is just daylight robbery. I put an arrow end can on my SD R for €400 and it's got a lovely not over the top thumping roar....
what sort of laptimes were you doing
I'll take 2 !
Having something that does everything for you takes away the genuine fulfilment of knowing it’s actually your skill that’s laying the times down.
Turn it off.
Why is no windscreen???
What is the model of this suit???? Heeelp.please
proper commuter
Finally MCN hired a good editor next a better camera guy 🤞the video quality was consistently mediocre for the past decade 😂 Neeves was the only thing that kept me watching MCN videos. hopefully you guys upgrade the production quality soon, Seriously amateur moto vloggers surpassed MCN in quality. Step your game up.
Weight /power ratio 1/1 this is crazy fast
7k for an exhaust is 😮....
It doesn't need one anyway, has plenty stock😂
Forget the 7k akra. Just get the arrow slip on exhaust instead.
Streetfighter V4 or Speed Triples 1200RS ?
Not even close!! The V4S is in another class...
If you track either, for the road neither, both are completely wasted, I’d personally go for the triumph because I prefer the looks
Neither. Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 all the way.
This bike belongs in a bike show and should only ever be transported to them by truck.
Bad for riding in the city at low rpm, it heats the legs a lot, and with so much technology they forgot to set the RANGE for fuel, if the light on the panel turns on, run, because you will never know how much gasoline is in the tank. LOL
Loved it
Akro exhaust cost is getting ridiculous. Is a YT review on installing the full Akro system, 10 hours in total. Daft.
Come on Michael, pin your colours to the mast. Bmw m1000r or Ducati v4s streetfighter?
I personally like the BMW ?
still no gas gauge
Small tweaks so they could up the cost by $2k over 2022 and more justify the high cost of the V2. Love the looks and sound but just not worth it to me even when compared to other expensive nakeds (base V4 is the same cost as the M 1000 R in the US). Mu BMW dealer has added a Ducati franchise so I'll get to ride them this weekend but just can't justify buying one.
agreed, Ducati came to a point where it is litterly the Ferrari under the motorcycles, including the price which is something I can't justify myself to spend on something on 2 wheels. The tuono v4 might be not as sharp, fast and advanced but I bet it still makes me grin from ear to ear. In the meantime I enjoy myself on my gen2 1290 SDR.
Where is the v2 owners or fans 🤔🤐
I hear(first) and see(later) a regular V4 SF every day.
I still can't get over the "Bison body with a Praying Mantis head" look.
Italy has lost it's flair when it comes to their motorcycle manufacturers.
Hope there's now cruise control. At this price down right ridiculous not to have it on
Yeah because this is a tourer…. Wtf
@@jimperry4420 it’s also not a road bike yet it has a number plate, 200bhp for the road is just dumb lol, don’t get the point of these bikes, 200bhp yet will get dusted round the track by a old gixxer and not practical on the road
@@BodybuildingSteve200bhp on the road is outrageously fast 150bhp is enough.
My mate had 2 and they spent most of last 2 years in the dealer as its always breaking down , first one such a lemon it had to be replaced, may be great for test rides but owning one is a nightmare.
I’ve done 12000 miles between a v4 and a v4s, neither have had the slightest of issues(and neither have been babied besides taking caution when the bikes warming)… sounds like your friend is either unlucky or doesn’t know how to maintain a bike.
Unrelated question...Is MotoGP on terrestrial tv this year?
Still no fuel gauge or cruise control. Not good enough Ducati for this price.
£20k for a motorcycle is madness!
Well, consider that there are idiots paying $20k over MSRP for a Honda Civic Type R. This seems like a steal compared to that
Ducati and Suzuki are literally opposites. I feel like Ducati launches a new version of one of their bikes every 6 months, Suzuki is every 6 years.
Would Michael still marry Tuono Factory or would the new wife be V4S? :)
Honestly I don't like the front, the exhaust is horrid looking and the engine doesn't sound good in any video at least. To me the Tuono would be better, just the engine and noise alone is enough to give the win to the Tuono, in my opinion. Also the Duc is waaay more expencive. I'll stick to my new S1000RR for now :) but the Tuono is tempting at least with that V4.
Bro ride one. Then you'll hear that engine sound. It's crazy. Doesn't scream like the beamer but it literally opens the earth.
@@mattgibb3648 He's correct about the look of the exhaust
It's hideous
@@joeblow5037 true true, stock is bulky and pretty naff to look at. sometimes money is better invested in metal! That wheelbarrow titanium is art. I've ordered one. And that art can sit in my living room in the winter!
@@mattgibb3648 for art I would have to get a 916 or a '94 900 SS SP
Even the 851/888's had an italian charm.
These are all just business imho
@@mattgibb3648 I'm sure the bike is amazing to ride and I would love to hear the noise in real life, but in videos the noise aint good. Hopefully I can try one next month.
£7000 for an exhaust 😮😮😮😮🙈🙈🙈🙈
How can they justify £7000 on a bike exhaust 😂. A Porsche exhaust is less!
So ... they made it worse 😂
its too expensive
not a fan this type of review ,not engaging and cant visualise the bike
Looks kind of fragile
Looks like one crash on the track and that bike is done
great vid....I honestly don't get it. All this electronics stuff just bores the crap out of me. Either detune it or go full monty...and I say full monty...if you can't handle it don't buy it...buy a monster or something within your capability. I won't buy a modern bike now as its just nonsense. I'll stick with my TLS1000 and ZX9R C2...no nonsense .
