Before I saw Venom all the people who went before me called it the "the best rom-com of the fall" To quote twitter: "the Shape of Water walked so Venom can run"
All I could think about when watching the movie was that horrendous block of plastic on Michelle Williams's head and I'm so glad you put that thing on blast.
I think the symbiote thing was that the symbiotes weren’t being fed therefore they were eating the subjects organs and the scientist didn’t realize that. That’s why when venom got into Eric he was so hungry and basically told him like if I don’t eat someone else imma eat you.
in all honesty its the only super hero movie i had fun watching for a while...best LGBT couple XD Legit Venom and Eddie Brock ARE in a loving relationship as in ''husband and husband'' in the comics.... it's a rather touching relationship calling each other "My love'' people complaing about the kiss obvi dont read the comic.... lol
“Venom is just goofy!” - That is hilarious, because Venom in the comics was one of the first in the wave of “we’re gonna make a grim-dark version of a classic superhero”. I mean, the character *is* goofy as fuck in the comics too, but completely unintentionally. Also, I wonder how much of the “silicon valley villain” trend is the result of studios just being personally pissed about what Netflix and Amazon are doing to their business.
I literally saw Venom yesterday after surviving a heart attack and it was such a breath of fresh air because of how funny and light it was compared to how dark everyone else is trying to be these days with comic book movies It silly and nonchalant and it was just such a silly good time, I'll buy the DVD :P
I feel that if this movie, in its current state, was able to come out after the Toby Maguire Spider Man (Minus The Topher Grace fiasco), it would have been PHENOMENAL. Haha
that was the concensus of all the reviews i've read/saw "fun, not a good movie at all but i had fun with it. very late 90s early 2000s super hero movie, CRAZY and WEIRD" which is why i was waiting for your review ( i so want to write RUview so bad lol)
Ahh yes, Tom Hardy's Myspace Thot photos, a true blessing. I would suggest everyone to Google "Chris Evans Flaunt" for more truly, truly great moments in time.
The reason Tom walks like that, it's him not a character choice. He's spoken a few times about how his weight gain and loss that was so rapid has been hard on his joints. That it hurts to even pick up his kid. He also said he'd never go full Bane again because of that. Another thing, the director has stated a few times that it was never rated R. The lobster scene was improvised by Tom Hardy. Another thing... Carnage is Venom's baby. Like... literally splits off of Venom and goes into Cletus Cassidy. Then when Carnage gets all nuts and evil and murdering everyone Venom is like 'God damn it... I gotta stop him because he's my kid...' So can't wait for that. Also Tom Hardy is beautiful no matter what.
You guys should watch/review Upgrade. Without giving too much away- It stars Logan Marshall-Green (who eerily resembles Tom Hardy) whose character gets an AI implanted that communicates with the host. The movie has elements of Venom, Robocop and The Crow; and it’s REALLY good.
Also apparently that lobster tank scene was pretty much entirely improvised because they arrived on that restaurant set, and it just had a lobster tank in the middle on display, and Tom Hardy turned to the director and basically said, "if there's a tank, I'm getting *in that"* which is AMAZING, he REALLY went for it
I have so much to say about this movie, but I´ll restrain myself: 1) Eddie Brock and the symbiote are basically a romantic couple in the comics, they call each other by pet names, it's adorable ... 2) OMG remember when Tom Hardy rescued a kitten and posted about it on his myspace? 3) He must be SO tired of being asked about his own sexuality
Is the PG rating the reason why "turd in the wind" is a line that exists in this movie? If it was R would it have been more hardcore like "shit in the hurricane?" Good it was fun anyway
Also: The Five Symbiotes are the offspring of Venom, extracted from the Venom symbiote and artificially aged to maturity by Roland Treece and the Life Foundation. Together they are a very powerful force who first served as soldiers for the Life Foundation.
How in the world is Avaryl getting Andrew on board for so many horror movies of late? Methinks she has nudie pictures of him, or the combination code to his diary!
Just some nerdy things to let you know: The symbiotes are able to produce on their own, and Carnage is (I think) Venom’s child. And the reason why Venom is more like an anti-hero than a villain is because of their host Eddie who isn’t much of a bad person, while Carnage’s host is a serial murderer which is why they’re so bad. Also I think Andrew explained it the best about why people didn’t like it. #NerdBros are truly the worst 😰 They ruined Deadpool (the character, comics and movies) for me because they genuinely thought I was a “wannabe fan” and didn’t know anything about him smh 😒
Can you review Marie Antoinette (2006)? I watched it after one of Avaryl's side comments about her hating it, and the movie was an Instagram photoshoot with no script, no consistent characterization (aside from Kirsten Dunst's age), and a weirdly clashing soundtrack. It was aesthetically-pleasing, historically-inaccurate GARBAGE. I need to see it destroyed.
If you want naked Tom Handy, you should watch Bronson (2008). Full-frontal covered in grease wresting prison guards. Basically, it's the film that makes not surprise by what Tom Handy will agree to do. Also Bronson is a real person who did that so that's a thing.
The whole symbiote leaving people without killing them isn't explained very well in the movie, but there is a reason. The symbiotes require special proteins that are normally only available in organs (primarily brains) for sustenance. Since the symbiotes have been captured in those containment pods for a long while back from space, they're presumably running low, hence why they eat all the hosts they are given in the lab. Venom presumably gets most of what he initially needs when he was in the homeless lady. This gives Eddy time to find alternative sources of food than his own organs (chocolate (which actually does contain some of the nutrition the symbiotes need!), tater tots, red meat, bad people, etc). Hence why he is able to bond with and leave Anne without hurting her; Venom doesn't NEED to eat her since he knows that he and Eddie can find alternate foods. But sitting down and explaining that would have definitely slowed the movie down.
tom hardy needing to take a shower does not detract from his sexiness, the symbiote science was horrid and inconsistent but i also didn't really care, eddie in the restaurant directly post-infection was the best part, and woody harrelson's $5 red afro wig in the post-credits scene was the worst part did jenny slate really need glasses? can we stop the nerds wear glasses trope?
This movie was a delight. Eddie Brock is just an idiot and I loved every minute of this. Also Eddie and the symbiote are in a romantic relationship in the comics so if you look at this as their love story origin it's even better
So yeah, that's definitely NOT Tom Hardy. You can tell by his tattoos history. Also, as to his bi history, he hasn't retracted anything. He talked openly in the past about experimenting with his sexuality as a young man. He never said anything about being bi or not, it's the media that blew this whole thing out of proportion, as they do. The truth is that Hardy is quite protective when it comes to his private life in general, and once he bacame an a-lister and the media kept digging for anything salacious they could find, he drew the line and stopped cooperating with that kind of attention. I agree that if he is indeed bi, it would have been awesome for him to come out as bi and make a point, but we don't even know if that's the case. It's kind of unfair, really. I mean, we want sexuality of all kinds to be accepted as something normal that's not a big deal. A lot of people have had same-sex sexual experiences in their life, as part of their self exploration, and here's a young actor talking about it openly and treating it like the non-issue that it is, but then when he doesn't actually identify (publicly or at all) as gay or bi, we disapprove and immediately assume it's a cowardly or a homophobic retraction. That's not cool.
I just wanted the romcom elements to be solely around Tom hardy and venom, I had no attachment at all to Michelle Williams’ character. Give me the alien symbiote x human host love story
I’m going to nerd out here... the symbiote basically strengthens you in every way but feeds on your strong emotions, often causing an increase of feeling anger and rage. “Life” is an organization that creates synthetic versions of the symbiote that aren’t as strong as their alien counterparts.
I love that you guys loved Venom. My only complaint was that it didn't go far enough, there should have been more Eddie/Venom love. This movie could have been so much more bonkers, fingers crossed for the sequel. But on the upside there has been a ton of rom-com type fan fiction that has sprouted from this movie.
This review was hilarious. I was literally belly laughing through the whole thing. I can't wait to watch this film and have Avaryl's voiceovers/character voices running through my head...
I loved this movie and loved this review! I had the same experiences as you two. While watching this movie I was LIVING for the campiness of it all! Thanks for another fabulous review! ❤️🥂
I didn't hate Spiderman 3, but I actually like movies which have too many subplots. Rather than a single long piece of yarn, they're woven fabric. I appreciate the work it takes to put them together.
I feel like it got all the goofiness and camp that you two wanted to see in Dr. Strange and nailed it all completely. Though I still can't believe that Venom was the superhero movied you two truly liked. But you you two truly nailed why people liked it so much more than other movie critics
I’ve got so many thoughts on this film; Avaryl I totally agree that Tom Hardy looks like he could beat you up so he doesn’t feel like he’s ever the underdog I think Mark Kermode “Child 2” describe it best that because Act 3 was good people thought it was overall fun Didn’t Sam Raimi not want Venom in 3 but Sony made him know weren’t Sony gonna reboot the Spider-Man films anyway after Raimi 3rd one ? Sony are that desperate for a brands in a leaked email they wanted wanted to buy the rights to make a Dr Who film ... know I guess they can do that now with Disney having a CGI Peter Cushing
The life foundation. The eat the head part didn't come from the comic or tv series but from a voice talking action figure. And somehow Riot had Carnage's powers but not his.
Avaryl's trousers remind me of when my mum bought me these pair of corduroys when I was in the 4th grade, it was the early 80s. I felt fab........til I walked.
If you haven't already i think you two should check out the filmography of the director David Decoteau! Movies in genres of Hallmark Christmas, Cheesy Horror, Lifetime originals, and a lot of Shirtless Yummy Beefy Daddies in movies with silly plots!!
Do we need a t-shirt with : « have you seen the Bay bridge ? I know, right ! » ? Yeah, yeah we do. ☄️🧡🦐👌 and also one with power-bottom-tom-hardy in a rom-com.
I’m so sorry to tell you that ass-up picture isn’t actually him. I thought it was for the longest time. The other crazy “what’s this?” MySpace pictures are real.
Before I saw Venom all the people who went before me called it the "the best rom-com of the fall" To quote twitter: "the Shape of Water walked so Venom can run"
It was so rude that they didn't credit Michelle Williams' wig at the end, it should've been third billed, because it was doing some work.
All I could think about when watching the movie was that horrendous block of plastic on Michelle Williams's head and I'm so glad you put that thing on blast.
Let’s be real, the only reason that Venom decided to save the world was because he made out with Eddie. The bridge was just a metaphor. Layers.
I laughed so hard at the Penny Marshal venom voice! “BEING A SYMBIOTE’S HARD!” 😂😂
Holy shit, Avaryl's Penny Marshall/Venom voice is making me lose my shit laughing.
And Tom Hardy not taking his shirt off... the level of homophobia was far too much ! 😡
Haha yes. At least, now we have an imaginary sexy shower scene to make up for it.
I can see a Venom Gay porn either being made or already made
Check out the fanfiction ;)
I think the symbiote thing was that the symbiotes weren’t being fed therefore they were eating the subjects organs and the scientist didn’t realize that. That’s why when venom got into Eric he was so hungry and basically told him like if I don’t eat someone else imma eat you.
in all honesty its the only super hero movie i had fun watching for a while...best LGBT couple XD
Legit Venom and Eddie Brock ARE in a loving relationship as in ''husband and husband'' in the comics.... it's a rather touching relationship
calling each other "My love'' people complaing about the kiss obvi dont read the comic.... lol
They would totally win if there was a category.
The other nominees being Will & Grace, Jack & Karen, Johnny & Tara.
“Hexxus from FernGully shows up” 😂😂😂 Love it Avaryl 😂😂😂

... why yes, I did pause the video and looked up the uncensored version of Tom Hardy's Grindr pics, why do you ask?
I literally saw Venom yesterday after surviving a heart attack and it was such a breath of fresh air because of how funny and light it was compared to how dark everyone else is trying to be these days with comic book movies
It silly and nonchalant and it was just such a silly good time, I'll buy the DVD :P
Gosh! Hope you're doing ok!!
Just casually had a heart attack then just casually saw Venom the next day. Uh
Avaryl sounds like she just had 5 coffees and Andrew sounds like he just had 5 NyQuils lol
Me and my husband’s reasoning for choosing to watch Venom at the movies: “That guy, cuz he sticks his tongue out and that’s really fun!” 😂😂😂
12 minutes into the video: "So it starts..."
Tom hardy does not take his shirt off at all noted. thank you for your research
Miguel Castillo The sacrifices MovieBitches make for us.
I feel that if this movie, in its current state, was able to come out after the Toby Maguire Spider Man (Minus The Topher Grace fiasco), it would have been PHENOMENAL. Haha
I am down for any Penny Marshall impersonations! One day I would love to see a super cut of all of your Penny Marshall moments!
Funnnnn Fact!! Venom and Eddie, In the comics, refer to eachother as married, have a kid, and call eachother pet names like love :D
when are we getting a "but i'm a cheerleader" review huh
12:15 we get the start of the plot. This is why I love this Channel
Totally didn’t pause the video to google “Tom Hardy Grindr Pics” at all. No.
He wasn't on Grindr. The pics were on his old MySpace account.
i just want to say ive been excited for avaryl to talk about michelle williams wig since the movie came out
that was the concensus of all the reviews i've read/saw "fun, not a good movie at all but i had fun with it. very late 90s early 2000s super hero movie, CRAZY and WEIRD" which is why i was waiting for your review ( i so want to write RUview so bad lol)

Can you guys please, please, pretty please post a MB video of the Venom scenes, but with Venom's voice swapped out for Penny Marshall voice clips?
They were MySpace pics not grindr
That makes a lot more sense
Whenever I remember those pictures, life gets better.
@@MovieBitches Also... that's not Tom Hardy. He had arm and back tattoos at that point. It's just a manip.
Bohemian Rhapsody next plz!

Wouldn't have been mad if Venom had sounded like Penny Marshall for the entirety of the movie i'll be honest.
Can we talk about all the metal that's in the same room with the MRI machine?
Also apparently that lobster tank scene was pretty much entirely improvised because they arrived on that restaurant set, and it just had a lobster tank in the middle on display, and Tom Hardy turned to the director and basically said, "if there's a tank, I'm getting *in that"* which is AMAZING, he REALLY went for it

Lol symbiote thrupple. I love it! Also Avril’s impressions were the highlight of this episode.
I'm back, I just had to take a break to find Tom hardy pictures.
Okay but can we get a retro review of Spider-Man 3 now?
How in the world is Avaryl getting Andrew on board for so many horror movies of late?
Methinks she has nudie pictures of him, or the combination code to his diary!
Pizza + MovieBitches = Great Time
I mean to be fair in the comics Venom and Eddie have a symbiote baby. So those NerdBros™ really have no ground to stand on
"Look at his back, is all ..... sexy"! Yup, that we needed!
Michelle Williams' wig is natural compared to the wigs in Bohemian Rhapsody.
Did Eddie Brock work for TMZ or Vice? What kind of bro journalism nonsense was that 😂
I feel like the prominent placement of HOWARD THE DUCK tells you all you need to know, really.
Just some nerdy things to let you know:

Although it’s not a “great film”- Venom is a hella fun movie.
Please, make a The Valley Of The Dolld review video!!
Love you guys!!
I was not prepared for that wig. Was is also an alien?
I demand a horror comedy about evil wigs that eat people's brains, take over the bodies, and use the material to make more wigs.
I love that you guys loved Venom. My only complaint was that it didn't go far enough, there should have been more Eddie/Venom love. This movie could have been so much more bonkers, fingers crossed for the sequel.

Deadpool came from Venom, so you’re pretty on point. 🤷🏻♀️👍🏼
Please do a retro review of kinky boots (2005), thank you please!
that venture bros reference made my day
Re-make the film with all of Venom's dialogue voiced by Avaryl doing her Penny Marshall & I would buy the SHIT out of that movie.
