Wow, I can't believe I forgot the metering modes! MY bad you guys...here's a quick explanation: Center weighted: This is where the camera only meters the light from the center and immediate surrounding area of the image. Better for back-lit subjects like portraits with the sun behind them. Matrix metering: This is the most common and usually default. It's where the camera meters off the light from the entire image. Spot metering: This is where the camera only evaluates a small spot of light, wherever you select it, and ignores the rest of the image. this is good for really small subjects in very back-lit conditions. Also, let me know if you want an actual video on just metering modes and if I get enough interest I'll make one.
I come from a Huawei P9 plus that gave me a great deal of satisfaction but I just moved on to a Galaxy Note 20. Thank you, thank you, thank you...exactly what I was looking for in a tutorial for the Note camera. There are times when you need to take a quick shot, but there are many times when I want a posed, carefully constructed photo and the pro mode allows me to do it. Of course, a mirrorless Sony does so much more, but when you're taking a walk with your dog and you by chance come upon something worth snapping, the mirrorless isn't practical for me or just impossible to always have around. The Galaxy is my substitute for those times when I don't have a mirrorless with me. Again, thank you.
You're welcome, I'm glad the video helped! And I definitely agree, it's so nice to be able to take the phone instead of a big camera sometimes, and know that you can still get good images.

Great video Brent. May I ask how do you manege to operate the dual function camera whilst taking videos such as this video (selfie and main camera operating simultaneously in video). Im asking as I have an app called "smart dual camera" but that only does stills on the phone, not video's. I don't know why Samsung removed this native option on Samsung phones. How are you utilising this option please for videos ?

@Brent, Could you do a video on the new update on the S20 Ultra as the night mode has improved. How do you get the best from night mode photographing the stars. 😊
Great video Brent, I just got the Note 20 Ultra!
What app do you use except snapseed for editing?
I use Photoshop (on the desktop) and Premiere for the video stuff.
@@BrentHall No my question was that what do you use for editing on "android" except snapseed...
@@nobodyisnice Oh sorry. I hardly ever edit anything on my phone, and if I do, it's usually in snapseed. I don't really use anything else for mobile editing.
Could you also do a video on night mode 🌙
Hi Brent
Is it possible to click galaxy photography using samsung s20 (not s20+ or s20 ultra)?
THIS is a GREAT How To video to show Users the advantages of using Pro Mode!
I shoot with the Nikon D7000 (Manual Mode ONLY!) on the regular.
Oddly enough, if it hadn't been for my Galaxy S9, my desire to recreate a nighttime long exposure traffic shot I saw on a computer screensaver back in May 2019, I'd have NEVER learned the fundamentals of photography and shooting in Manual Mode!
I can't believe the S20 is 30" Shutter Speed-capable!
Even with the 10" shutter speed, I can grab KILLER Night Long Exposure shots!
Your S20 Astrophotography shot is BUTTER!
You do killer work Bro, consider me SUBSCRIBED!
Hey thanks man, I really appreciate that!
@@BrentHall You're Welcome! Your explanation has thus far been the EASIEST I've heard, of how The ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speeds work!
IF only You taught this May 2019, how much more would my current progression have grown?...🤔😂👍
Hi nice video, do you know where I can buy affordable nd filters for samsung s20?
Thanks! I use moment nd filters for mine. Links are in the description.
can you do live view focus video in 4k in pro mode?
Is this applicable to s20fe also?
That is, you shoot video in professional mode, speeding it up, making a time-lapse? Thanks
Hi. Do you know where is the aperture (example: F1.5 )of pro cam samsung s20?
Ha d to follow just picked up this phone thanks brother
Thanks man, I appreciate that!
Great ultra content as usual
Many thanks Phillip!
what is the setting when video recording? the colour is always washout
Can you try Google Camera's manual mode in this phone??
Helpful & informative video
"It's time for second breakfast." Ha ha! Yes.
The last time Samsung had this as an option within the phones software was on the S8 however when they had an firmware update on the S8 they removed dual option and never issued it on Samsung phones ever since. How are you utilising this option please for videos ?
Thanks man! That wasn't a dual camera recording on my phone, that was me screen capturing the phone while also filming myself with my mirrorless camera, then editing it with the mirrorless footage in the frame like that.
Oh I see. Thanks Brent
Very informational, learned a lot thank you. Keep it up, new subscriber! 🙏🏿🙌🏿
Many thanks, I really appreciate that!
Wow thanks great video.. have you done star trails on the s20? Would love to see how you do it etc..thanks so much.
First time watching and now a subscribing.
I haven't done star trails with the S20 yet, but I might here pretty soon.
THANKS MY MAN
Sure thing, thanks for watching!
Awesome video. Never knew how to use pro mode. Now I can use pro mode
Glad I could help!
@@BrentHall how often do you use the 100X zoom?
When i shoot in pro mode, raw pictures are having red dots , any idea how to fix this?
Thank you so much for all these informations! I still have one question for you: you said in the video you are using a variable ND filter on Samsung S20. Which filter do you use exactly? Up to now, it seems to me that most of them are made for iPhone, badly...
Sorry, I don't remember exactly what I was using back then, but it was probably the moment case with their 37mm filters. I should have links in the video description.
Can I ask, if u want to take pics of festivals and ppl that dress up in costumes, this close to Halloween, how would you capture the 👌 kinds of pics?
