A "Free" alternative is to just use WinUAE direct, but you still need the ROMS for Cloanto via Amiga Forever, to run Amiga emulation legally.

When a racing sim channel I watch was struggling to stream an Amiga racing game I suggested they get Amiga Forever. Needless to say it enabled them to faultlessly run the software.
It’s a great piece of software.
Yeah it's so simple to install and use. Even though I have original machines, I feel emulation has its place as well.

Just watching this brought out all the anger and frustration I used to have playing this game. I’ve thrown my imaginary Competition Pro across the room!
hahaha I'd usually say "Glad I could unlock some memories for you" but I'm not sure that holds true on this occasion haha.
The music on the C64 Last Ninja games is amazing. The Amiga music isn't as good, though still okay.
You do jump across the stones and logs. It's famously hard to do.
I'll always prefer Paula to chip tunes but that's subjective. Yeah I thought perhaps I need to be more precise with the jumping lol.

It's really noticeable that the Amiga version doesn't seem to be much of a step up from the C64 version!

I'm probably in the same mindset as DavePoo that the game itself isnt great - pixel perfect jumping, inst-death, illogical puzzles. There's lots to not like! And if i remember correctly, it was possible to progress through levels and not take items that were required later on, which made odd puzzles even more difficult to comprehend.
Last Ninja 2 though did stand head and shoulders above 90% of games at the time for graphics and sound so we put up with average gameplay. But it was already showing its age when converted to the amiga.

Life is too short for spending too long guessing weird control schemes! I was thinking you should just pop over to Lemon Amiga and read the manual, which you eventually did.
People complain about this game, but you can find people to complain about every game. You did alright playing it, made it look fun, and the game still has a bit of charm about it.
Yeah to be fair, I'd worked out the "controls" within seconds. I just couldn't pick things up lol.
I know last ninja has a huge following but it never really did anything for me.
I'm fairly sure it doesn't matter how many times you shout pick it up at the TV he isn't going to 😂.

sad that mister minimig core does not work (for me in de10nano, I remember it working for sockit mister tho). last ninja 2 was better?

I'm sorry to all the fans of this game, but I remember playing it back in the day, it was graphically amazing, and the music was awesome, but the gameplay sucks, Trying to maneuver the character into pixel perfect positions was annoying & the combat was just button bashing nonsene. If it wasn't for the graphics and music, this game would have been long forgotten.
I dunno. Getting a ninja to do squats has its charm 🤣
