as a gay kid obsessed with cowboys since i was little from a tejano / appalachian family, orville's music feels like a home to me.
It’s amazing how many comments like these I see on Orville’s videos. It’s really heartening.
As a ole hillbilly woman more power to you honey ❤️
Who say it is illegal to love cowboy and country music for gay? Bro never give up
we love it
I´m Swedish leaning left politically, got the song dayton Sand as a recommendation on spotify. My first reaction was, "hell, i can´t enjoy this!, its trump loving, jesus loving kill abortion doctormusic" . SOO happy this amazing musician is a canadian love child between Elvis and Johnny Cash. If Johnny Cash was alive he would LOVE Orville Peck!
Orville, you are talking about the heartbreaks that have nothing to do with romance, and how they stand out to you.. and I think that is exactly what draws me to your music. From the first day I stumbled across your first album Pony, you touched that heartbroken part of me that nobody has ever touched before, and for that I am forever grateful. The only problem is the fact that I just can not listen to your songs in public, at the bus and what not, because every time I break down in tears. After almost 3 years nothing has changed in terms of how I react to your music.
Sending love and gratitude from that sad, melancholic, 23-year old guy who always wears black, somwehere in the centre of Europe.
dude pony was literally the perfect album for these lonely times c: ended up all over my top 5 on spotify wrapped, can’t wait to see what else you do! love from mexico
Your music helped me reconcile my identity with my roots. Keep up the good work you do for country music, can’t wait to see you live sometime!
That’s the point: identity and roots. Thank you for putting it into words.
We love you Daniel!
STAR PONY FOREVER.
You are so amazing. I am one of your newest and biggest fans. I will be following everything you do from here on out. Keep being yourself and inspiring people. I love you mister.
👍✌❤
The best thing about the future is that there's going to be so much more Orville Peck in it.
This comment ♥️
Honestly. His music has staved off every intrusive thought I've ever had since I found out about him last year.
Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise
Mos def!💯💘
I mean don't count you're chickens before there hatched . Tomorrow's never promised .
Orville Peck is such a fantasy. I love everything he does.
being a closeted kid from south east asian, i really resonate with your connection to cowboys and loneliness. love you orville, you're such an inspiration! 💕
😭🙏🏼❣️
❤️
Orville: "I think there are a lot sadder heart breaks that have nothing to do with romance and those are the ones that stand out to me."
That was such a beautifully true statement.
Straight up I was a metal head through and through, and Orville got me into country music.
I'm just a boring 40 yr old midwestern mom but absolutely love your music. Your voice and music is just amazing!!
❤️
You are not boring, darling. Like a peruvian 30 year old fighting for a real realization in work, be a mom in USA in the 40, sounds like peace and freedom with a plenty of goals (because be a mom is a very, very difficult job and I admire my mom more than other person in world) so, please remember you are just AMAZING not boring human being. 💖
@@maia2486 thank you 💗
Weird, I'm also a 41 yr old midwest mama and I'm here toooo✌️😂😂
Try Rainbow Kitten Surprise too if you like more creative beautiful music like this.
Hi I'm a 43 year old mum from London England 🇬🇧 and I'm absolutely in love with orville peck I love his music his looks his personality, everything ❤
That confessional outfit was 🔥🔥🔥
Hello there,
Thanks for following me once again, I am very glad you are a fan of mine, it always been a huge pleasure meeting with few of my funs. Inbox Me, using my personal email address and let’s hang whenever I am less busy :

As a 58 year old straight, southern and baptist raised man.. let me say I love you and what you’re doing! Wish you all the success and happiness in the world! Edit: I consider myself a “recovering Baptist”.
Yep I’m a 56 year old hillbilly woman and I feel ya I’m probably 25% old regular baptist myself 😊
Ha!! You're my people, I'm 53 from MS and I'm a recovering Baptist too. Adore Orville! 🥰💜💚💛✌️
I am SO happy to read your comments! Brought up in the baptist church but fully recovered. I knew that my oldest son was gay LONG before he did and I couldn’t wait till he figured it out!!!!!! My faith has nothing to do with judging and condemnation. It is about Love. That is a choice.
Good to know someone your age can still be recovering, I'm 43 and still struggle with having my mind de-brainwashed. :(
Do you mean, scripture alone, Christ alone, grace alone, faith and the glory of God alone? Or is that just part if it?
I screamed that I loved you behind the Rialto after your show in Tucson and you screamed it back. That night has become one of the little embers that keeps me chugging along when it’s hard times. Love ya, Orville!
Awe 🥰 Wholesome!!!
Wish I woulda seen him then, Rialto is a great venue. Did they have his picture painted on the wall?
No joke, my bf and I named the pup we got in May after Orville... the name suits him perfectly since he's slender, 'blonde' and adorable af.
I named one of my chickens Orville Peck! 🖤
Ok, this is my new goal in life. I'm gonna adopt an Orville Peck
Awww! If I ever get a cat again, and one day I hope I can, I am going to name him Orville :) Or what's the female version? Orly? IDK 💜
Sit, Orville.
@@tedecker3792 on his sister's head? All the time!
I didn't even know he was gay I thought he just had badass style lol his music is great awesome voice 👏
Orville Peck was literally my most listened to artist on the new spotify wrapped. His music and art means so much to me!
The title "The Irony of What I Do" just struck me. His songs are so meaningful and so full of his own personal, intimate emotions that we get a look at his life without even knowing his actual name or face. This man is just so brilliant!!
I mean, we do know who he is though.
@@Noah_Dienstag We do, but not his actual name or face so far
@@Noah_Dienstag Orville Peck isn't his actual name
His name is Daniel Pitout
@@Noah_Dienstag Oooh, I wasn't aware that his name was revealed by him
Can’t wait til May 2021, when I see him. I am in love with this man. He stands for everything I love about music. He would never have been my first choice to listen to, but if 2020 has taught me anything is never to set expectations for anything. I truly feel refreshed by his music & his aura. I love all of you Peckers so much.
😂😉🥰
Peckers! I LOVE this. I am uplifted by everything about this grand man, his music, the fans, ALL! Just discovered this, and it feels wonderful to be purely excited about something so…plainly good.
@@chaoscossack Totally, wholeheartedly agree.

January, 2020 - I traveled from New Orleans to Colorado to see Orville Peck (not headlining). 19 months later (next week). I will again travel from New Orleans to Colorado, to see Orville Peck, now headlining at Red Rocks! ❤️
I'm just a straight man from the south but this is unmatched cowboy energy
A lovely thought. The artist’s identity shouldn’t get in the way of enjoying their art (okay, except maybe Hitler). But try saying, “ I’m just a straight man from the south AND this is unmatched cowboy energy.” Change your words and you’re halfway to changing your heart. 💕
I can count in my fingers artist that had touched me deeply, and I'm happy to say that Orville Peck is one of them. Keep doing your amazing work and I will keep quietly listening and admiring you.
am I the only one who cried watching this? As a teenage gay kid from Colorado it just resonates so much with me. Love your music and I'm exited to see what you come up with in the future!
Nope. I cried, gathered myself together, rewatched, and cried again.
Nope, I cried too 💜
@Zander Martinez ayyyyyy a fellow member of the cold dry and miserable club!
nope you are not the only one hahahahah :c
There are too many thoughts, feelings, and words pinging around in my brain for me to be able to express succinctly how much I love this, and why, so I’ll just put all the hearts 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️.
We need more Orville Peck in our lives!!!
Orville Peck, I am picking up what you are putting down. Your art speaks to my heart. Discovering your music videos significantly improved my personal pandemic this year. I have felt so much while listening and watching. You should know that I named a very fine chicken after you. Thank you for everything. Stay gold, pony boy. 🖤
❤️
yep yep YES
This says it all ❤️
I just came from an “outlaw” country singer show that my parents wanted to see, and it was so full of hate. Listening to Orville Peck and his story always brings me a sense of peace, and I sure need it right now. His heart is earnest and shows in everything he does.
He's like a Country Western Klaus Nomi. Doing something unique and everyone else is catching up.
This is a perfect analogy. I compared him to David Bowie, and this is his Ziggy Stardust period. Orville is a genius. Can't wait to see him live!
Someone who knows Klaus here, that just “proves” what I inherently felt about Orville having just discovered him. His uniqueness and artistry transcends normal genre stereotypes and manages to reach those who appreciate genuine creativity and expression. So awesome to see the range of people his music seems to being together. I only just discovered him this week too. So exciting!
That’s an insight. Thank you @Michael Wilson
We need more Orville Peck's and Tyler Childers in Country Music!! Today's new legends!!!
And Charley Crockett
I wish I had known your music when I was a scared child in the closet, and with a ot of very bad situations, I could find a better consolation than in my self-destructive behaviors of my early adolescence (im 19 now), thanks for your music, keeps telling me that things are not that bad, and I hadn't found an artist who would have, until now, you do a good job man, keep it up, I'm sure you will achieve something great
❤️

I've never clicked on a video notification so fast....
Same.
I am new to Orville's Music ! It's amazing! Keep Crushing It Orville Peck!
You're as genuine as they come. A shining star in the night sky. Love introducing people to your art.
Honestly, discovering Orville's music and who he is as a person saved my 2020
I love his creativity. So much about him online. He’s from South Africa, was a ballet dancer, drummer in a Canadian punk band, now living in the US. What can’t he do? His imagination and ability to recreate himself is almost magical. Not to sound too weird, I’m obsessed!
Love his music, I wish more western theme artists existed today
The biggest heartbreak would be if you’re not allowed to live the life you want as who you are. My heart goes out to anyone who may be struggling with that
I love that this was filmed during Covid and is soooo so beautiful and atmospheric. You can because the ferris wheels lights spelled out 'thank you doctors'. And props to the bedroom set team for working the "cowboy mask" so seamlessly with the young talent! 🤠😊
Orville is living breathing personification of art.
This man is such an inspiration. Truly a beautiful being.
Those are some TRULY inspired shoulder pads
Orville Peck has gotten me through 2020. Full stop.
my son just introduced me to Orville - holy crap - Ilove his voice, and I am not a country music fan because of the direction it's taken since the 70's this is so old school but new I would love to hear you sing wicked game - I haven't done a big search but it would be amazing if he did
Orville, thank you for being you and being my most played artist for the past two years!!
What is the song with the sick guitar intro in the background starting at 34 seconds????? Don't think it's Orville but it's sick.
The part about the two truckers is wild, as I had this experience with a girl in my 20s. We weren’t truckers, but for a good 2 hours, we were inseparable, weaving through traffic, each out-maneuvering the other to be in the front, or side by side.
It was some young reckless shite on the highway, and as a 40+ year old, I still regret not pulling off on the exit that she did.
Good lord I heard Big Sky in a con roommate's car on the ride back to the hotel. My guitar got a bit beat up a few months ago & my low E snapped so I put the practice on hold. Hearing more of your music & your story is downright inspirational for me to keep learning how to express myself musically even if just my friends know my name.
🦓💚
Orville is to country music as Freddy Mercury was to rock.🎸🔥🎸 In music, there is no straight or gay, there is only excellence.
Orville has gotten me interested in country like I've never been before. It's fun to travel back through its history knowing where it ends up today.
Grandmas a new fan 🤣. You are who you are and because of it came great music that brings joy and love to so many. Your a keeper.
I see so much myself in you and it's freeing.
So refreshing… an artist that puts art first and wants to do it at a high level. Well done, Orville.
Orville deserves to be top of the game.
Orville Peck is my favorite modern musician. Someone so beautifully eccentric with the voice of an angel and a sense of style to kill for. You have my full attention, Orville Peck.
Orville Peck is phenomenal
so glad to have you here creating such beautiful work ❤️
Very well spoken. Definitely a roll model I would want my kids to follow.
Lone Ranger - Zoro - the white hat and the black one. Thank YOU - for being you! Cheers!
As a 47 year old straight guy, its just great music. Rock on Mr. Peck!
What a great story and he is down to earth.
Would love to hear him do Chris Isaak's - Wicked Game.
You wear a black leather mask deep in youre heart... That's metal
A originalidade é sempre a porta para a liberdade. Você e toda a banda são ótimos!!!!
My Sweet Orville, the 9 to 5 poster in the bedroom really had me rolling on the floor laughing. Love, Jamie
One thing I think Orville has done so well is introduces the non-straight lifestyle into country. People always saw it as a tough man and a petite woman. Orville challenges that. Along with being so accepting of everyone, his inclusion of characters in music videos is flawless. Today we have too many people trying to be “woke” and including demographics at a skewed ratio, but Orville’s characters seem like they were built for that exact video. A lot of them are something that stands out from the general public, but fits seamlessly into the videos. To Orville, thank you; I am off put by people trying to be “woke”, and then show off something that seems fake. You do the opposite; show reality. You always remind me of my favorite band Pink Floyd because; Shine on You Crazy Diamond!
Always a pleasure to listen to his music and the same goes for his story
❤️
I’m so glad I started listening to Orville Peck. I’ve always loved country and his style reflects so much of what I love about it
hes honestly such an inspiration 🥺🥺🥺💗💗 his music has helped me accept and love myself more,, become more confident and learn to truly be myself. This video is amazing 🥺🥺
Drive Me Crazy is my favorite single off the new album. It so sentimental and raw and makes me nostalgic for a life I've never lived. That's the power of a great song.
Poo pushing party at Peck's place!
One thing 2020 brought me that is just * *chef's kiss* *
I am grateful to live in a time where I get to appreciate Orville Peck.
I spent a couple formative years in Montana before coming out as gay. Orville Peck speaks to my experience as a closeted kid in love with the West.
Love, love, love. Beautiful uniqueness.
❤️
Not only is the music amazing, but I’m so glad to see an artist be who they want, for themselves! It’s well deserved.
What’s the Waylon Jennings song in the beginning ?
Roses are red, OP's songs are fire
If I said he wasn't my number 1 inspiration, I'd be a liar
This guy gets it. If you can't tell your story as a western, it isn't a story worth telling, but the secret is that every story can be told as a western. Every tale told is ageless if you're near a source of flame. And you're welcome to quote me on that.
As a gay teen that loves westerns/cowboys I love the connection I have to Orville and I’m so glad I found him.
I listened to a a lot of Country as a kid and in my early teen in the late 70s early 80s. Artists like Eddie Rabbit, Alabama, Oak Ridge Boys, Willie and Dolly. And I always liked the 40s through the 60s music. But I drifted away, because it was becoming so formulaic, though I couldn't have put it in those terms then. The last "Country" artists I regularly listened to in the late 80s early 90s were Chris Isaak and KD Lang, and they were hardly the usual Country artists. But now I have Orville Peck to add to the Country artists I like!
I'm drawn to Orville Peck because my grandmother lived in the country, deep bush Australia. Mum would drive for hours to visit, and because it'd take hours we'd stay for days or weeks to make it worth it. Those days as an little gay brown kid were filled with stories and country music. I listen to a lot of RnB, Rap, Soul, and PC music but i've never been able to get into Country being released now cause... well it's not Johnny Cash or Dolly Parton. Listening to Orville makes me wish she was still alive, because these new songs would have been ours to sing. Orville's discography really resonates with a time in my head, and the stories told in his music are just as poignant as the ones we used to hear from Country's classics.
Orville doesn’t reveal his face… he reveals his soul.
As an European white straight woman, i just wanna say: i love Orville Peck. Much respect! Wonderful work!! ✨️
What's the song that plays at 0:33 ?
I screamed at the sparkling biker outfit omfg I am obsessed
I discovered Orville only a few months ago but something about his music and persona instantly clicked with me, the stories he tells are so beautiful. I respect this man and his work so much thank you for making sharing your art
one heck of an artist
Just discovered this guy a few days ago and immediately fell in love with his music. Some of the greatest music I've ever heard and reminds me of all my favorites, cash, elvis, etc. I love what this guy is doing for country music and how hes expanding it and giving it a new shade of color. Its beautiful and inspiring and I cant wait to see his name go down in the country legends.
I’m absolutely obsessed with his music! Replaying each album and waiting for more! Authentically incredible!
He's bringing back the fancy country western outfits that remind me of Porter Wagoner, Little Jimmy Dickens, and others. For far too long country "stars" have gotten away with being on stage with ripped jeans and a sleeveless shirt. I think it is nice to see this again. I find him very interesting indeed and wanting to watch him more.
I listened to bronco three times over before I had even an inkling of "is Orville gay?" and I legitimately did not care. I think that's awesome he's open about it and writing songs that mean so much to him and sharing his stories. His voice is absolutely amazing and he's honestly making his own subgenre within the country universe.
I had the same reservations when I was young about morrissey, it stopped me engaging with the smiths ,I was about 12 ,I want to jump back in time and slap myself around the head..
Mr peck is my cover music
i truely belive that some people are born brilliant. and the lucky few, of those so few.. find their calling at a young age.. In this small demographic.. Brilliant artists are born.
The way he talked about how the mask not being about anonymity but an expression and what allows him to do what he wants to do and be the someone he is deep down, I can' t help but draw parallels there with drag and , hell, even fursuiting
Putting on an elaborate costume or makeup to express something you otherwise don't always feel able to
To embody a piece of yourself you feel like you need to hide most of the time
I'm glad you wanted to sing .
Thank you for choosing the PROFESSION that you did . 🤠🖖 ♨️
Can we all agree that he’s a fucking genius, I mean every celebrity wants to be bigger than life while performing but while living a normal life they want to hide and just live normally and him hiding his face means he can have the best of both worlds!
Played shows with you twice when I was younger. One at a festival and one in a basement. You played a different instrument at the time but always stood out to me as a talented musician and deserve whatever success you can get. Orville Peck fucking rules!
Discovered 'Pony' about a year and a half ago and I'm not particularly a country fan but I love your voice with haunting, alt-country undertone and simple ensemble that really elevates both. Just heard a few tracks from 'Bronco' am already loving it!
I’d never heard of you before the collaboration with Trixie Mattel. I’m not a country fan, but OMG, I love your music. Your voice is incredible. Country isn’t exactly a warm place for LGBTQ+. Sure seems like you’re changing that and it’s wonderful.
