Our small dog was either poisoned by someone or got into something that poisoned him and affected his liver enzymes, to the point that he was deathly ill. We took him to the vet and they did blood work to diagnose him and then they gave him an I.V., but the prognosis was not good. We brought him home and I took some activated charcoal, that I had purchased years before for our fish tank filter and used a mortice and pestal to grind the small charcoal chunks into a powder, mixed it with water and used a baby dropper to administer it to our dog. I did this once a day for just two days and on the third day he was returning to his old self. We took him to have his liver enzymes checked again on the forth day and they had returned to normal. He is still with us, Praise God!

I worked in the ER during college. When people take too much Tylenol or other drug we would immediately give them charcoal to absorb the medicine in their stomach. Works well and saves lives. Goes in black and comes out black.

I work in healthcare and became interested in "alternative" and older cures. When I started to talk to a lot of old timers, about their childhoods/ grandparents etc during the early 20th and late 19th centuries. I experimented on myself, finding that many of these remedies are still relevant today. Both for beauty aids and medicine. They have saved me from going to the hospital a few times, activated charcoal is one of the things I never go without in my pantry. It's become a staple in my home.

I read somewhere that you can re-activate the charcoal if you pop it in the sun. This was in the context of using it as a mould absorber for bathrooms. Apparently the UV light opens the pours in the charcoal and releases the nasties it trapped, so it's ready to go again.

i can say that it works...my old dog sasha was peeing blood, took her to the vet, and after some medicine she improved for two days and then went back again. I noticed that she was eating a plant in the garden and when she ate that the blood in her pee was more noticeable, so i removed all the plants. Then she got better for a week and then she started again. So i put my Sherlock Holmes hat and started to investigate. I used a cleaning product to kill roaches at night...she love to hunt them but she gets inside of the mist of cleaning product...and voila...i found the culprit. I started to give her charcoal for at least 5 days...since then all the toxins are gone from her body and she looks better, and no more blood on her pee. Now i am more careful when i spray the roaches...

Years ago there was a product called Roach Ender. Used once it killed all Roaches (followed me from a city apt) and made any remaining roaches sterile. It was sold in the 1980's some people might still have some. They stopped making it (cuz it really worked)IMO. I had a roach prob 15 years before using that even though I'd used sprays, powders & had place " professionally" exterminated nothing else worked- I Used it once and no more roaches ever. Hope u can find some.

That would be an easier way to take in the Activated Charcoal rather than drinking it, which may not taste so good if not mixed with juice and could get in between your teeth as you noted. Anyway, I thought it may be helpful to let you all know this option.

Thankfully, it is fine enough I haven't yet had it get stuck in my teeth, but I don't trust it entirely....the one day I forget to check will be the day I go to work and smile at someone with black in my teeth! :) Thank you for the suggestion.

@@sandizee I am a Paramedic, and we use activated charcoal for almost any type of ingested poisoning, it works quite well. We give a large enough dose that it causes vomiting so whatever does not get absorbed by the charcoal comes up that way. Depending on how mad the EMT driving the ambulance has made us that day, we know how to time it just right so that we give it to the patient when we are enroute to the hospital so that they vomit in the back of the ambulance just as we are arriving at the ER and we are unloading the patient, then the driver / EMT gets to clean the back of the ambulance while we are inside with the patient, lol.

My dear wife the doctor, who will be gone 11 years this month, told me that medical school instructors used to demonstrate the efficacy of activated charcoal by taking a generous dose along with a dose of strychnine, and showing no ill effects. I wouldn't want to try that experiment, but I do have 4 bottles of activated charcoal caps on hand right now. In a pinch just wood charcoal, not from charcoal briquettes, just regular wood charcoal, ground up, would work, though not as well since it has less surface area to work with.

Yes, Walmart pet department, fish tank supplies. Aqua tech, 8 ounces, about $10. activated charcoal. Great for possible food poisoning., etc
Your pet is probably being poisoned by Glade Plug-In. Mine started having seizures from a fake vanilla scented glue trap for mice. Piperinol is lice killer. Could be in cheap ice cream.
Charcoal smashed in his food helped greatly, and milk thistle caps for liver cleanse, both for 10 days. Thank you!

I really would like to know how to make activated charcoal in case I couldn't find it some time.

  • @johnnywalker2609

I think that’s probably 50 mg, milligrams, not 50 grams (that would really be a lot). Activated charcoal is simply another form of carbon. The ac is in a very fine powder form because it exponentially increases the surface area. With an increased surface area, its adsorption greatly increases. It is adsorption, not absorption, just FYI, from a former chemistry instructor. Love your videos, keep up the great work! Cheers,

I would make this stuff by the drum full by cutting off the airflow to the inner drum which was full of 2" diameter or smaller
hardwood. Cook for a few hours and... viola! Charcoal for the forge. And for whatever ails you. 😊😎

You my dear are an encyclopedia on the benefit's of Food Grade Charcoal, thank you for the extra knowledge. Clean out nuclear fallout too? Wow. I want to use it to try to get recent forced medications from my blood and gut if you know what I mean, so I'm on a blended green diet with onion and garlic for forever now I think. Plus Sumac/Lemon juice which I'll try adding the charcoal to. Blessed be.

I came on to look for if there is any benefits to Charcoal
I’m 37 years old and from as far back as about 5 years or younger I have been eating charcoal from what my parents would buy to cook (In Jamaica 🇯🇲 charcoal is common for us)
Now at 37 I sometimes have a crave for it literally so I wondered as persons scuff at me when they realize I eat it
But it helps my crave so it didn’t matter lol
So now I’m learning it actually has all kinds of benefits 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

From the past we shall Know the future and not have to depend on others who may not be so faithful to you . You can look into the past and learn the old ways to live with very little . Try to take the time to see how little it takes to survive without any electronic devices or electric energy nothing but natural things .

Dr. Wallach talks about the rise of diseases shortly after the invention of the electric stove... he cites the abandonment of the practice of adding fireplace wood ash to the family garden as being responsible for the loss of vital minerals in the food supply... I wonder if activated charcoal has mineral content other than only carbon?

When I was young I got a bruise from a copper spoon on my foot. My foot became very swollen, lasted for weeks. My aunt used the burnt trunk of a cedar tree. She scraped it into a powder and put it on the wound. In no time the swelling went down and the wound healed.

In my country we cook with wood which becomes charcoal. Is that the same thing. We also buy charcoal in big crocus bags and use it for cooking or roasting food. Can that one be used or do I have to buy charcoal from a store?

Royal 777, I would love to be able to give you the perfect answer for all of these, but I just don't have them. I don't have a favorite brand. I would just look for food grade activated charcoal (without any additives or fillers). I have a link to it in the description under the video. It can inhibit the absorption of some prescription drugs so don't use it at the same time. Here is an article that will help you some: www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/322609.php
