The preborn human would be protected from murder just as born humans are with the existing laws against murder.Unfortunately, when these bills are brought forward, it is the many major prolife organizations that oppose them. They do not believe that a mother that takes a pill or goes to an abortion doctor should ever be charged with a crime.
If we can educate people that the preborn are humans, from conception, the idea of abortion is murder. Murder is already illegal. We need to humanize the preborn, as so much brainwashing has taken place.

If you think that just being a Christian means people were chaste and all waited until marriage, I got a few bridges to sell you. Don't confuse the minority of religious fundamentalists like the Puritans with how most Christians behaved throughout history. Just have to look to any of the Latin countries or the middle-ages to see that. When people are free they do the nasty whenever they get a chance. Islam is one of those few exceptions. But I don't think we look to them for moral virtue all that much, nor should we. Then again, how free are they really?

My girlfriend in college ended her life after abortion. That’s when I started opposing it. After she had it she started crying non stop for a week. I finally had to go back to work and she took her life when I was gone. Turns out the same hormones release whether it’s intentional or not, and the clinic gave us zero warning that some very serious changes could happen

How does this play out when medical tech advances and babies can be born and survive at 22 weeks? What about the world record earliest born baby, Curtis Mean, born at 21 weeks with 0% chance of survival, according to doctors, who survived anyway? At what point did he become human? By your definition, he wasn't a human when he was born. Did he have to wait until he was 24 weeks to become a human? What was he before then?
What if the 24 week old baby's mother lives in a rural area and if she gives birth there in her home, the baby would not survive but if she drives to a hospital it might survive? Is the baby only a human at the hospital?
What about babies in less developed countries without access to good maternal medical care. Do they become humans at a different rate than babies in developed countries?

I’m the result of my mom being raped at 14 by a 22 yr old man that just arrived home from Vietnam in late 1971.
Thankfully, Roe vs Wade wasn’t around until 1973. I was born in May 1972.
My grandmother wanted to force my mom to get an illegal abortion at a small town doctor’s office in Cross Plains, Tennessee. Mom ran away from home to avoid this. She later returned when enough time had passed that she was too far along in her pregnancy that the corrupt “doctor” wouldn’t do the abortion. I was born at 26 weeks. Very premature weighing just over 2 pounds. I thank God for my life and for giving my mom strength at 14 yrs old to fight for my life.
Later in life when I was 7ish, my mom was pistol whipped when I was a kid . This pistol whipping caused cysts that eventually caused an aneurysm that took her life in 2007.

Those go hand in hand though. The way we told our culture that slavery is evil, was by immediately abolishing it. People didn't just change their minds overnight, but when you tell people that if you do something it's wrong, and they will be punished for it, it's the quickest way to educate people and change culture.

The abortion topic is a "have your cake and eat it to" one. If the woman wants it, then it's a baby and the law treats it like a baby if a woman is murdered while pregnant. This is always a confusion that is very important to clear up. In pregnancy, the OB/GYN physician is treating 2 patients. Mother and developing child. In early pregnancy it would clearly impossible to save the baby and allow the mother to die.If the mother's life is in danger from pregnancy in early pregnancy, the mother's life must be saved in order to give the baby a chance at life at all.
Most pregnancy complications happen in later pregnancy, where if the mother's life is in immediate danger, the doctor will deliver the baby usually a caesarean section , to end the pregnancy and save the mother. The baby will also receive the best medical care available, and may or may not survive, but it not necessary to ever kill the baby to save the mother. Some treatments the mother needs may not be best for the baby, but she can still receive them, like chemotherapy for instance.
So, murdering your child to save your life is ok?

This culture is sick and it's about to be judged.
If either Charlie or Matt was in a situation where their wife was in the hospital in danger of dying due to complications from the pregnancy, then I would be interested to know their choice. What would they do if they were put in a situation where they had to decide between the life of the woman that they love and a child they have not ever seen or known that is in the womb. I would also like to know what Charlie or Matt would do if their wife had been raped and gotten pregnant as a result of it. What if it was so difficult for her to deal with that trauma and also be pregnant. Would they want their wives to suffer that kind of horrific trauma in that situation? If the answer from either one of them and either one of those scenarios is yes, then I've got to say that these are some pretty cold-hearted men here.
Now keep in mind, these would be very rare circumstances. The overwhelming majority of abortions happen for a reasons of convenience. This is the behavior that needs to be addressed. Saying that you are against abortion in all circumstance with no exceptions is not only the minority opinion, but it's a losing battle. Even though the aforementioned scenarios that I bring up are rare, they do occur. We need to address The reasons why the majority of abortions happen in our country.

@@watts18269 I'm not a doctor, but based on the reading I've done the fetus' heartbeat can be detected within 6 weeks, often as early as 22 days. The fetus feels pain as early as 12 weeks, and brainwaves are detected at 14 to 15 weeks. Denmark is a country that allows abortion, but ONLY up to 12 weeks. I feel this if a reasonable place to begin a conversation on the issue.

As an abolitionist myself, I understand that we are facing the same arguments our founders faced when it came to slavery. The majority of our founders opposed slavery. Some believed “if you are against slavery, don’t have slaves”, some were like me and saw it as a complete evil against human life.
However, the founders KNEW it was going to take a culture change, not a legislation change. They knew it would be gradual.
I hate that this is what we have to face, but we need to remember:
Abortion propagandists have worked hard for generations to dehumanize the developing person in the womb in an effort to influence the population for profit and power.
There will be a lot less unwanted pregnancies if abortion is abolished because women will actually have to make good choices.
My wife was pregnant with twins. One was fine, one had down syndrome, 2 club feet, a whole in his head and heart problems.
He probably would have lived, just required extensive care constantly. We have zero support. No grandparents just ourselves. We already have no time together for dates etc with our first children.
We made the incredibly painful decision to terminate him and focus on the healthy twin. Our relationship wouldn't have survived. We'd be looking at suicide and homelessness. Is that fair on our other kids?
For decades, we've heard of the RiNO (Republican in Name Only). Similarly, there's the PLiNO (Pro-Life in Name Only) position. There's a lot of people claiming to be pro-life who then like to make exceptions for why killing babies is morally upright.
I am very pro life, but if my options are to only allow abortions for certain situations like rape, incest, and medical necessity (or even a heart beat bill), or to allow ALL abortions, then I'm going to choose the first option, every time. Sometimes you just have to compromise.
The Arizona law that was recently upheld allows an abortion if the life if the mother is at risk. So i agree with the law, who cares when it was originally put into law? People have to understand that less than 3 perecent of abortions are due to risk to the mother. And it is less than 1 percent that have abortions because if rape or incest.

i've never seen anyone name a single life threatening thing the mother can experience that can't be solved by a C section that attempts to save both lives
