Tip, from someone who beat hardcore 30x: Always leave a two block gap between you and enemies, as sometimes they can just, randomly clip through one block, and leak into your base.
I think it only works when they glitch into a block whilst they jump, causing them to clip into the ground. So they could have spawns on the roof and clipped.
The commentary, the chill voice, the having fun and being prepared to sit there for hours all mix in, overall rating is a 10/10 this video was perfect I loved it so much, keep this up it was so good
As an avid terraria enjoyer (over 2000 hours of gameplay), a few tips I wanna offer: There are two things you need to remember, two lessons I learned from my own getfixedboi playthroughs; patience is paramount and walls are key. The safest (and most boring) way to traverse the world is by digging tunnels and placing walls made of dirt or wood as you go. Specifically player-placed walls, natural walls don’t count. Mobs can’t spawn against player walls, and certain mobs just flat out won’t spawn at all if you’re standing against your own walls (the worms underground come to mind, the only things that make tunneling like this nonviable). It is very time consuming, very boring to watch and very annoying to do, but it will guarantee your safety. Just keep your tunnel close to the surface, barely below the grass, and you should still be able to reach the trees through the ground. I know I just said to stay underground, but you’re gonna want to go straight up to the clouds ASAP. The Starfury is your absolute best friend for the pre-boss section, as it’s one of the very, very few weapons you have access to that’s able to hit enemies behind walls. Fishing is your friend, make sure you know how to duplicate water and make the max size needed for fishing pools, so you can maximize your chances of getting crates and fish. Don’t be afraid to overprepare, I’ve spent who knows how many hours building crazy elaborate arenas for one boss or another, and sometimes that level of prep would be the difference between a boss being impossible to kill and the boss being a cakewalk. My personal favorite trick is to have a line of heart statues rigged up with pressure plates along the bottom of the arena, so I can just run across them and get a shit ton of health back while I’m circling the boss. Walk off your arenas the same as your tunnels, enemies jumping into you will probably kill you more than the bosses themselves will I’m not sure how much of this you already know and how much is actually useful, but hopefully it does you some good at least. Looking forward to your coming success (and immense suffering) Edit to add: you can make one-way walls by adding another vertical layer of platforms right up against the wall you want to be semi-permeable and hammering each platform once. Mobs will be able to clip through the wall from the platform side but not the solid wall, making for reliable walls for traps. I personally use them for my lava traps all the time, they work magnificently, and if you combine them with a sorta slope down into the pit with the lava they can even trap flying enemies like demon eyes pretty well. Also, zombies can’t jump if they’re standing on a workbench, but they’ll drop down through it and be able to jump off the ground beneath it you’re standing below them, so you can use that for one-way traps if need be That slime staff was a really lucky find, an absolutely fantastic weapon for a challenge like this
*13:32* Never before have I laughed THIS hard on a Terraria video, easily the greatest comedic timing in any playthrough. Amazing video too, by the way. You deserve way more recognition. *26:45* Also, wow. What a redemption of oneself! Absolutely glorious save there, I'm impressed.
I'm not gonna lie, the commentary throughout this video put a genuine smile on my face, you've got yourself an immediate sub! I swear, as someone who's spent years playing this game, hearing you play it made me feel so nostalgic for when I first picked it up
Your storytelling ability is absolutely spot on. Not just with your really laid-back radio voice set to lofi, but the way you paced the script was.. incredible. There's no way you don't have professional training.
Actually, go lin army will likely be pretty good. Spikey balls aren't infinite pierce but they have high pierce, so having a nigh endless supply of them would be great. Having a mace should counteract sorcerer orbs, leaving him probably safe.
this guy is so underrated i thought I was watching a channel with at least 50k subs, but no, and this is his first video too 💀 also the glitch at 22:53 was funny lmao
Hey! Great video, and I have a few tips: 1. If you were to continue this playthrough, be cautious of your NPC’s tombstones. If you break them in certain spawn conditions, they may spawn ghosts, which can travel through walls. I’m not sure if the spawn cap affects this, but it wouldn’t hurt to do some research before the attempt gets serious. 2. In the underground, corruption, and maybe underworld, worm enemies will be an issue. I have heard that they shouldn’t be able to spawn when the player is in front of player-placed walls, so keep that in mind (citation needed). You’ve got this!
Pretty much every worm type enemy will not spawn if you are behind walls including tomb crawlers and dune splicers, wyverns. The only exceptions I think are the lunar events
To be honest when I first clicked on this video the editing/commentary/gameplay looked like it was a channel with hundreds of thousands of subs, so really good job for a first video, and good luck on the challenge in the future. Oh yeah, also sometimes enemies can glitch through one block walls, so build them 2 block wide
insane level of content for such a small channel! feels like a video from someone with 300k subs not less than 200 (at the time of commenting, i hope you get much bigger, you deserve it.) you have earned my sub.
Ay this was one of the best Terraria vids I ever seen and for a first video this is good I like when you died by the flying zombie by far the funniest. I bet you will be a good UA-camr in the future
Hello and welcome to youtube apparently! I thought you were a large channel! Your editing skills were great, alongside with audio and the commentary with the lofi-esque music just made it all the better! You turning up on my fyp was a pleasant surprise and I'm glad to be one of your first subscribers (NO. 276. Checked when I subbed). Please keep up the good work! I'm excited to see more from you!
How to get the hardest terraria experience: Step 1. Put on master mode Step 2. Put the seed to for the worthy Step 3. Do hardcore Step 4. Calamity death mode Step 5. Fargo's soul mod eternity mode Step 6. Dynamic difficulty mod Step 7. Crimson mode because its the hardest evil biome Step 8. "Texture pack of suffering" texture pack Step 9. Spawn rate multiplier Step 10. No immunity frames for ONLY yourself.
This is incredible. Like, genuinely. I could write an essay about it. Whether or not intentional, those silent moments where you dont do a VO are so anxiety-inducing (at least for me), so genuinely well done man. Oh yeah, and your voice is so chill and youre just funny and entertaining to listen to. 10/10
No idea if dodging works with the 1 HP mod, but if it does, the brain of confusion and the hallowed armor set will 1000% save your life many times Best of luck, soldier
Hey, this really is a fantastic video! I do not think I have stumbled upon a video with such a relaxing vibe and original concept in a while. Your style of commentary is very entertaining. I'm looking forward to anything you put out next :)
Nice job, @Yeon. Really, you did a really good job making that video: good editing, high-quality content, and over half an hour long which is something many UA-camrs fear making. Hope you will continue. Liked, Shared, Subscribed. I applaud a man like you.
Fun fact: spiffo the plush is a reference to a zombie apocalypse survival game called Project Zomboid, which makes sense since this pet drops from zombies.
few tips 1: the way the enemies keep getting in is cause of a bug where the enemies clip through the wall which i believe you can fix by adding another layer or 2 to your walls 2 mobs will not spawn if YOU are in front of a wall so for example if i was in front of a wall and there was surface above me nothing would spawn that is hostile 3: keep up the vids you totally deserve 200k minumum
I have been awake for about an hour and this man getting genuinely excited and hyped about the mass murder of slimes because of his slime staff is the highlight of my life 😂 Keep it up man!!
I normally don't comment but seeing your video was just phenomenal. I mean not only is your voice and commenting style so chill and calm but I never would've guessed this was your first video by how good the editing was and how much of "Professional" look the video had. Amazing video dude! Would def like to see a series !
I’m a little late to this channel awesome editing and narration but some advice for you I recommend going with ranger or summoner that way when your able to go out of your base you can keep distance from enemies and since damage reduction isn’t really an option for you since your at 1 hp keeping distance would be your best decision. Obviously like others in the comments say, experiment with what works best like whether ranger summoner melee or mage works best for you. But in terms of early game I recommend going ranger or summoner that way it’s easy to keep distance but in late game your can switch to melee for the damage output or mage for some more damage output. Obviously still use armour and stuff since your can get a set bonus for whatever you choose to use for an increase in damage. Also even though I said damage reduction won’t be the best if you get things like a paladins shield in hard mode which is from the dungeon then you will get a bit of damage reduction which could help against enemies like so,bikes or slime so you can tank a few hits but remember to not get cocky since you can take a few hits since hard mode enemies could still one shot you. If you ever somehow get lava I recommend putting it in the little pit that you have to trap slimes that way npcs can move in easier so the mob cap isn’t always filled in. Hope this helps, if I find something else that hasn’t been mentioned I’ll re edit this message.
tbh the thing about infernum i like the most is the de-chaos-ifying nature of the boss design while still making it really fucking hard. takes after the empress of light.
Oh wow finally a creator who gives credits and also as this your first video its incredible that you are that brave to try legendary hardcore 30x spawnrate. Keep it up👍
please do more this is funny as hell to me being a long time terraria player just dont have the stones to try this yet myself.. but i think you just made me try it... wish me luck..
I have a theory why your npcs aren't moving in, it's probably due to the entity limit, entities are things like slime, npcs, zombies, etc. The slimes are taking up everything in the entity list, reaching the entity limit. Due to that, your npcs won't move in since they count as a entity. Edit: I saw that you dug down, so that npcs can only spawn, that's very clever and I probably wouldn't have known that. You most likely knew the entity limit system, but I won't delete this comment just in case if anyone was curious why npcs weren't spawning.
Some tips you probably already know but just making sure: thin layer of lava so you don’t take damage but the enemies do is a great addition to the entire area near you. You will need all of the dodge items possible so brain of cuthulu, hollowed armor, tabi, and master ninja gear. As others said a two block wall and ceiling. I also recommend using teleporters between locations you know are safe. Edit:I also reccomend building walls throughout your caves so it’s not spawnable if you wanna be extra safe
theres a channel called sorbet cafe that has some amazing rundowns of various mechanics ranging from hoiks to mining speed to reforges. the one on warding might not apply to 1hp runs but its still interesting edits: summon damage CANNOT crit, so crit chance does nothing for summoner. except the brain of confusion buff but thats because it has a hidden summon damage alongside the crit chance. you can right click most equippables to equip them just thought about it and the ahnk shield kinda sucks for 1hp, because almost all of the debuffs are only applied by things that also do initial damage as well. the only ones that can happen without dying are chilled from water in the tundra, fire block burning, which is mitigated by just the obsidian skull or other upgrades, and slowed from deerclops's roar, but i wouldnt really consider that one because 1, the immunity is from hardmode and 2, it has a shadow hands mechanic in expert mode and up that just randomly spawns them near you, sometimes unavoidably so i wouldnt recommend fighting it. the terraspark boots on the other hand should be notably useful for the mobility and limited lava immunity
Holy. Seeing a video almost without views almost made me skiping this video (I'm happy i did not skip it). I saw Wild lmao's videos about 30x spawn rate, and liked it very much, so I thinked about giving this video a chanse, and did not regret it. Your video was very good, and your voice sounds so chill and good to listen, your commentary and editing is so good. To be honest I see so much comments that is saying almost same things like me, but that's true, my honest opinion. I will subsricibe and look forward for next videos, good luck!
And sorry, i don't have any tips, i did manage only beating Terraria with master mode, and do all achivments on it. I don't think i have much of experience i can share. The only think i might recommend, use this huge spawn rate for your advantage, for example build giant arenas with walls so no mobs can spawn, catch very much rabbits and all other peaceful mobs, and then spawn them before boss fights (those that spawn some mobs for their help, or for example worm-bosses, they can even spawn only with their head, wich means almost no hp)
I wonder if the effect of zerg potion from Calamity (increase spawn rate and spawn limit by 400 %) and chaos candle (increase spawn rate significantly), plus warmonger potion from Thorium (increase spawn rate significantly) would stack with this. If they did the CPU would probably melt....
Alternative sources of ore are your best friend. With your spawn rate, slimes will actually trickle in ores, potions, and various useful items gradually, especially with you using the slime staff to farm them from a safe distance. The underground is absurdly dangerous in a challenge like this, so complete avoidance until absolutely necessary is honestly the best call.
Good luck. I don't know if this would actually be helpful, or if you've learned this already, but a few tips: 1. Torches don't block spawns, placed backgrounds do. They don't need to be wood, it can be a dirt background as long as you placed it yourself. 2. Defense doesn't do anything, since you have one HP. Movement speed or damage is probably best, and armor is only useful for set bonuses. 3. Cheese what you can. There are a bunch of weird AI quirks you can abuse because the game already isn't playing fair. 4. Use spawn limits, it doesn't matter how fast the spawn rate is if it can't fit any more. 5. Drop rate means nothing if you have 300 times spawn rate. 6. Don't get hit
Tip, tunnneling 3 blocks downwards where worms don’t spawn and you can explore the world and dig up for chests. Although gnomes might be a problem but I don’t think they spawn that low.
I am not gonna repeat everything that people before me have already written but your voice is so relaxing and the whole video made me feel so chill. Keep going.
As someone who did a 30x spawn rate hardcore run the most dangerous thing I encountered beyond like bosses is enemies that can go through walls like wraiths and worms
Dude, first video? Are you insane? This video was amazing. Great audio Great editing Speed ups when needed and not boring to watch, The effort put in for all this is amazing. You're honestly doing great, dude, and I'm surely gonna watch the entire series.

I think it only works when they glitch into a block whilst they jump, causing them to clip into the ground. So they could have spawns on the roof and clipped.

Great video, pretty entertaining all the way through. Good work man
theres a channel called sorbet cafe that has some amazing rundowns of various mechanics ranging from hoiks to mining speed to reforges. the one on warding might not apply to 1hp runs but its still interesting
edits:
summon damage CANNOT crit, so crit chance does nothing for summoner. except the brain of confusion buff but thats because it has a hidden summon damage alongside the crit chance.
you can right click most equippables to equip them
just thought about it and the ahnk shield kinda sucks for 1hp, because almost all of the debuffs are only applied by things that also do initial damage as well. the only ones that can happen without dying are chilled from water in the tundra, fire block burning, which is mitigated by just the obsidian skull or other upgrades, and slowed from deerclops's roar, but i wouldnt really consider that one because 1, the immunity is from hardmode and 2, it has a shadow hands mechanic in expert mode and up that just randomly spawns them near you, sometimes unavoidably so i wouldnt recommend fighting it. the terraspark boots on the other hand should be notably useful for the mobility and limited lava immunity
This is my first video i watched on your Channel and i’m already hooked. Keep on the good content.
Omg that zombie that ended run #2 honestly made me laugh out loud, that couldn't have been more perfect holy sht XD
loved this video. really hope to see more from you
The smile staff as a 1 in 10,000 chance to drop from any slime, except pinky’s which have a 1 in 100 chance.
Local terraria player discovers that summoner is in fact fun to play
Alternative sources of ore are your best friend. With your spawn rate, slimes will actually trickle in ores, potions, and various useful items gradually, especially with you using the slime staff to farm them from a safe distance. The underground is absurdly dangerous in a challenge like this, so complete avoidance until absolutely necessary is honestly the best call.
Good luck. I don't know if this would actually be helpful, or if you've learned this already, but a few tips:
6. Don't get hit
awesome vid audio was fine for me and everything was great ill be looking out for more from you
insane first video man you're gonna go places im excited for the next video!
Keep going.
As someone who did a 30x spawn rate hardcore run the most dangerous thing I encountered beyond like bosses is enemies that can go through walls like wraiths and worms
not to repeat one of the top comments already but your commentary and editing is really enjoyable, this was a really nice video, keep it up:D!!
I actually enjoyed watching this video man. Keep up the work!
Zombies dropped the spiffo plush because it’s a reference to the game project zomboid, it’s the games mascot
