Woodturning - Oak Quad Crotch!

- I've been waiting to turn this piece of wood for a while now. It's been sitting outside drying for well over a year and a half and I thought this week was the right time to turn it. In all honesty I wasn't sure what I was going with, I just had some fun with it and let the wood dictate the shape. I was hoping for some better grain, but as its a small piece most of the best grain got removed during turning.
The Oak has been sanded up to 10000 grit, and finished with Danish Oil. I will give it a few more coats of Danish Oil, and then put it on display. However, I'm happy to sell this one if anyone is interested.
Let me know what you think!

Disclaimer:
My videos are for entertainment purposes only. I am still relatively new to woodturning and some of my techniques might not be the "best" or safest. When using any tools or machinery always read and understand safety/manufacturers guidelines.
Yes, I'm aware that wearing gloves while woodturning is considered an unsafe practise. The gloves I wear are tight fitting and don’t have any loose threads. I wear them for the protection of my skin. This is a risk that I am willing to take, however I am still very conscious of the potential danger and I do not touch any spinning parts of the lathe. DO NOT do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing.
...awesome, Harry...just awesome...👍

Beautiful. The Good Lord sure gave you a great gift. To see the beauty of things discarded is a rare talent

Absolutely lovely. If one side was lower it could be a child's rocker.
Beauty is in eye of the beholder, I love it .
Always in awe, so beautiful!!
I love wood.
Unusual but very pretty
Absolutely gorgeous😲🤩❗ I've been waiting for you to do an uneven unusual Edge piece. BRAVO, Harry 😀🤸♂️! ✌🐦🇨🇦
You could be risking life and limb with wood like that.
You never know if a bit will fly off or when!😊
.
Very very nice Harry, the crack’s even turned out nice. 👍🏻
Beautiful Piece and interesting process. Full View and Like 👍
That really is a lovely piece.
Come on Harry, this isn't the content I subscribed for! Never lose your touch! I thought: "Hey, maybe he's gonna make a bowl!" "Maybe it's a desktop stationery holder!" yet, by the end, I was just confused... What is it meant to be? The craftsmanship is CERTAINLY there. For what it's worth, it does look quite striking. In my opinion, this is just a waste of some good lumber. What did you see in this when you made it? I'm sorry if I come off as rude here, I'm just very passionate about the work you exhibit here. It's normally top-notch, so I was just surprised to see such a 180 in terms of utility here. I wish you well but please, listen to your heart here. No matter how good it is, who will admire it in the future? 5 years, 10? It's odd!

Very nice, great work
AMAZING AS ALWAYS 🎉
That turned out beautiful Harry and you did a wonderful job turning it!!!
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
Great job!
Great work.
Very nice work.
You never disappoint!👍👍👍
amazing! beautiful
Love the risky pieces of wood you start with, my lathe is not stable enough to work with such large pieces. I need a beefier one for that for sure.
♥️♥️♥️
That turned out to be a very nice oak bowl. I wonder if Milliput comes in a form that can have coloring agent added to it? The black is okay but could have blended in a bit better. Most of it got turned away. 😊👍👍
Awesome work! It’s beautiful! I was wondering what gouge where you using to turn the outside of this amazing beauty?
A really great project and a mega result. I have a question. What is that plasticine you used? What is the surface treated with and is it waterproof and food safe?
Wow, that's a crack'in piece! It cool seeing the tool as the ends are spinning. Is that a resin putty? Greg
Thanks for posting this video. I enjoyed the process and skill this took.......just not a very attractive piece.
Dude I am less than 20 seconds in and you need a grinder.
