White Zombie had two hit songs/music videos; “Thunder Kiss ‘65” and “More Human Than Human”. Rob Zombie also had a modest hit song/music video for “Living Dead Girl”. (AEW female wrestling Abadon has a horror gimmick, and has been referred to as “The Living Dead Girl”.)
Loved his films, “House of a Thousand Corpses” “Devils Rejects”, & “Three From Hell” even though not everyone cares for all of them. I used to blast this whole cleaning my room as a kid 😅
this man is the best artist and best entertainer i have ever seen live. the last time i saw him was 2019 at Download festival and you could not move as he is much loved . he has directed many horror films and runs an animal sanctuary . i consider him to be his own genre
"Dragula" is a debut solo single co-written and recorded by American rock musician Rob Zombie. It was released in August 1998 as the lead single from his solo debut Hellbilly Deluxe. Since its release it has become Zombie's most recognizable song as a solo artist. It is also his best-selling song, and had sold over 717,000 copies in the U.S. by 2010. The song is based on the drag racer "DRAG-U-LA" from the sitcom The Munsters. The title came from the name of Grandpa Munster's eponymous dragster DRAG-U-LA .
This was made famous by Grandpa Munster's car Dracula from the Munster's. This was called syfy cause of Frankenstein and them being in here. He's got some of the best concert's period he's a legend of this genre. Living Dead Girl and More Human Than Human are my favs by Zombie live ya ❤❤❤
If you were a 2000's kid, watched horror movies, watched wrestling, and or played video games, you've heard Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, you just didn't know it was them
Rob has got a twisted sense of humor. He does the horror for the entertainment value. He’s such an interesting individual. Def watch an interview or two and see him Without the get up on. He’s kind of “artsy” he’s like a comic book nerd-except with horror movies. 🙃🖤
You're having trouble classifying it, that's normal. I file it under "Undead Hillbilly Disco Metal" It's very much like metal, but with a beat you can dance to and a common theme to the lyrics. Just a bit of an industrial sound in there, but not too much.
This album?? I use to wait till the kids went to school and on my days off would do my house work to this whole album. House was clean much faster vacuuming and so on with this band. Seen White Zombie and Rob Zombie plenty of times. Yes, my kids introduced them to me! We are all horror fans. Night of the living dead I remember being about 4 was the second movie at the drive in with my parents. I was suppose to be sleeping but took a sip of my yoohoo and watched till they made me lay back down in the backseat of the car and not watch...lol. Fell in LOVE with zombies ever since. My kids were raised on all zombie movies and of coarse we were all big fans of the walking dead.. But if there was a sex scene in anything.. OMG cant watch that. change that channel till that part was over. lol
Rob Zombie also recreated the Halloween movies. He was also responsible for movies such as Devil's Rejects, House of 1,000 Corpses, 3 From Hell, and recently remade The Munsters.
Just saw Rob this past summer for the 3rd time. His shows are great live. Funny you mentioned Marilyn Manson cause his former guitarist John 5 left Marilyn to join Zombies band. He recently joined Motley Crue to replace Mick Mars after his departure from the Crue.
You mention Marylin Manson... He is an amazing musician, but a lot of people can't get past the shocking persona. Believe it or not, Manson, despite being more popular in the Metal Genre, is actually one of the best Blues artists of our generation. You should listen to his cover of "God's gonna cut you down". That was originally an old folk song, it goes back to black prisoners working on a chain gang and singing songs to keep the rhythm going, similar to songs like "Black Betty" (RamJam) or "In the Pines" (Nirvana, under the name "where did you sleep last night") which saw a resurgence in the last 40 years. "God's gonna cut you down" was popularized by Odetta in the late 50's, early 60's, definitely listen to her version first. A few years later, Johnny Cash did a cover. He added instruments to it, and his version is a timeless classic now. Manson's version however takes it to a new level. You would also like Manson's bonus tracks from his album "The pale emperor". Specifically "Day 3" and "Fated, Faithful, Fatal", which are acoustic remixes of songs on that album, but with more of a blues feel to it. The other thing Manson does good is Pop covers, from Bowie to the Eurythmics, he adds a lot very popular songs, really reinvents them. His original works are great, but a cover is where the talent and creativity really come through. To make a unique cover while constrained to the lyrics and melody of the original, and knowing it will be compared to the original... that's a lot harder than a fully original work.
Couple of fun facts, 1 The band name White Zombie is based on a black and white monster movie that came out in 1932 of the same name, 2 Rob Zombie's brother is the lead singer of Powerman 5000 which, while sounding slightly similar to Rob's horror style theme, took more inspiration from old B sci/fi movies. Definitely check out Powerman 5000 too. If you like Rob you will like Spider. Had to edit because I forgot to mention that the name Dragula comes from an episode of The Munster's where Grandpa Munster makes a supped up hearse, called the Dragula, to enter a car race. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Jay Leno has the original in his car collection.
The video clip was based on the Atomic Bomb explosion and old style horror, whcih is very comical nowadays. The car he is driving is Dragula, the name of it. It's his beast.
The thing with RZ is he grew up in a time (we are almost the exact same age) when TV and movies were your heroes, your literal babysitters, your friends; parenting was often an afterthought and got in the way of 'socializing'. And, as kids are apt to do, they navigate to the scary and strange within those TV shows and movies because its DIFFERENT. Rob took that experience and being a lifelong musician formed an entire genre and style of music around old school Sci-Fi and horror films, TV series, and art.
Rob Zombie is big into B grade classic Horror films. For some of his earlier stuff check out White Zombie - "Thunder Kiss '65" and you will see more of his love of horror movies without the gore.
theres a lot of good rob zombie/white zombie songs, this one, more human than human, thunderkiss '65 and soul crusher and if anyone suggests the band powerman 5000, thats rob's brothers band who have a good song when worlds collide
I've been a huge fan of Ron since Thunderkiss 65, sometime in the mid 90's. I don't love every song. Some of his big hits I dislike (More Human Than Human) and some of his less well known songs I am obsessed with (Rock n' Roll in a Black Hole). I think of his music as Evil Disco because so much of it is actually danceable under all that thunder. Rob himself is a super mellow guy, and very humble about his success.
Rob Zombie is a huge disciple of Alice Cooper and a fan of the 60's/ 70's movie, TV and music culture of horror/ fantasy flicks and even disco music (He even covered The Commodores' song 'Brick house')... His previous band White Zombie was one of the first rock bands to incorporate samples and beats. Rob Zombie's music and imagery are more Halloween-themed entertainment than macabre art of Marilyn Manson... or the raw, abrasive delivery of W.A.S.P. ... Rob Zombie wanted a different spin on the shock rock of Alice Cooper and his theatrical live performances... 'Dragula' was inspired by the TV series 'The Munsters'... White Zombie was the indie-rock band Rob Zombie formed in the 80's w/ his then-girlfriend Sean Yseult ('Yizzo') on bass... The broke big in 1992 after J. Yuenger (guitar) joined and released 'La Sexorcisto' ... scoring the MTV hit "Thunder kiss '65"... In 1995, White Zombie went for more electronics and samples on the album 'Astro creep 2000'... and had a platinum record w/ the hit single 'More human than human'... However, tensions led to White Zombie splitting up in 1996 after the tour. In 1998, Rob Zombie announced his first solo album 'Hellbilly deluxe'... and it sold 3x platinum on the singles - 'Dragula' ... 'Living dead girl' ... 'Superbeast'... the next album 'The sinister urge' was also a platinum success in 2001 w/ the singles 'Feel so numb'... 'Never gonna stop'... Rob Zombie has changed band members often; his first live band featured Mike Riggs (guitar), Rob 'Blasko' Nicholson (bass) and John Tempesta (drums)... Eventually, former Marilyn Manson members John 5 (guitar) and Ginger Fish (drums) joined w/ Piggy D (bass)... Rob Zombie still records and tours successfully. Recently, guitarist John 5 (who also tours solo) joined Motley Crue to replace their original guitarist Mick Mars... Mike Riggs (guitar) came back to tour in Rob Zombie's band.
I got to see Rob live both with White Zombie and solo, and he puts on one of the best live shows you'll ever see. He definitely has his own unique vision, and as you see more videos, you'll recognize it. With White Zombie, I'd recommend "Thunderkiss '65", "More Human Than Human", "Black Sunshine". Solo, definitely "Living Dead Girl" and "Superbeast". None of these videos are gory or anything lol But thank you for saying that the sick things people do aren't because of music. I lived through the tail-end of the "satanic panic", and a time when kids in particular were "de-metalized" in the 80s, because metal music was the root of all evils and made kids depressed and angry 😑 It still rears its ugly head here and there. And I still have seen fewer things as asinine in my life. Music saves.
Dragula takes me back, back in the PS1 days, there was an old snow mobile racing game , Sled Storm I think, that had Dragula, and other similar music, as the soundtrack. I have yet to play another racing game that had as great as a soundtrack.
OK if Black Sabbath, Slash and Kirk Hammett had a crazy horrifying musical love child at the estate of Vincent Price …that baby would be Rob Zombie …thank you😂😂😂
Several bands have been sued for people deleting themselves or someone else to the best of my knowledge no one has lost that case, when it happened to judist priest one band member said he couldn't even spell subliminal
Your channel is excellent; keep up the good reactions. You've already gotten to Iron Maiden, so I will suggest my other favourite: Dream Theater. They're a progressive metal group made up of some of the best musicians in the world. I recommend "Metropolis pt.1" or "The Great Debate." Both tracks show their virtuosity and lyricism. Anyway, cheers and happy new year!
🖤LOVE ROB ZOMBIE!!! Please react to -Living Dead Girl -Superbeast *Please react to Marylin Manson -The Beautiful People -His covers of -Tainted Love -Personal Jesus -Sweet Dreams -Thanks!
Back when i was in high school Marilyn Manson released his antichrist super star album and it rocketed up everywhere but i know 3 stupid people that felt the need to shoot that album, and I thought you paid for it to destroy it thus making him more money
Not sure how you can say they are "not hard" like some of the other bands you mentioned ..... Rob is fuckin hardcore, and rules! Look at him, listen to his music, look at his movies!!!!! " House of a 1,000 Corpses", best Horror movie of all time .... you need horror bro, check out this movies!!!! This dude is the real deal, plain and simple, and his bitchin hot wife (featured in this video and his movies)!!!! So forget about your fuckin video games ...... Zombie is hard!
White Zombie had two hit songs/music videos; “Thunder Kiss ‘65” and “More Human Than Human”.

his Halloween movies were good too.
@@nim4464 I agree! I saw the remake he did in theaters and really enjoyed it. Not sure why so many hate on it though.
this man is the best artist and best entertainer i have ever seen live. the last time i saw him was 2019 at Download festival and you could not move as he is much loved . he has directed many horror films and runs an animal sanctuary . i consider him to be his own genre

See Gwar than
The munsters had a dragula.. It was like a 1940s hot rod Coffin shaped
Rob Zombie loves the b-grade old school goofy horror vibe. He also likes to write music that can scare and make you want to dance at the same time.
Rob did one of Edge's old theme songs " never gonna stop" back a few years ago.

Rob zombie grew up around a cur us family this is why he's so theatrical
Dragula was in every other game back in the late 90s/00's. If it wasn't Final Fantasy or Mario, this song was in the game.
You're having trouble classifying it, that's normal.
I file it under "Undead Hillbilly Disco Metal"
It's very much like metal, but with a beat you can dance to and a common theme to the lyrics. Just a bit of an industrial sound in there, but not too much.
😂 I love this.
If you watched The Matrix, the first movie, you would have heard it while Neo was in the club, after following the White Rabbit.

Great live show, tons o fun, video screens and fire and loud af

You nailed it dude. It's a total club song
People dump on this poor man so much but I think he's awesome ❤❤
Saw him with my daughter back in 2014. He puts on a good show. Somebody did an AMV on Rock Lee's battle against Gaara from Naurito using this song.

Remember playing twisted metal 3 or 4 on PlayStation with a few Rob Zombie song in the background
The Dragula comes from the old Munsters TV show Grandpa Munster built the dragster called Dragula

The video is a nod to old-time classic early horror films.
Now they are considered corny but back in the day, they were a big deal. 😁

yea Sled Storm had Dragula (Hot Rod Herman Remix)
Rob zombie is metal is an understatement
Nineteen sixty…fiiive, yeah! Woo!! 🤘🔥 Get into White Zombie.
White zombies more human than human will really show robs sci do vibe
I remember this on a racing game; unsure which one though.
OK if Black Sabbath, Slash and Kirk Hammett had a crazy horrifying musical love child at the estate of Vincent Price …that baby would be Rob Zombie …thank you😂😂😂
Rob is heavily influenced by cheap, campy 50’s and 60’s horror. The Dragula he references is the drag race care driven in the tv show “the Munsters”
I've always liked him with his band better than his solo stuff.
Well ozzys most known moniker is the Prince of darkness when most of his songs are anti war and love and spread peace songs
Love this song! Whether you like him or not I must say whatever he does he gives it his all 💯☑️🎯
For several decades Rob zombie has been really close to Alice Cooper they tour together very often
You’re going to have to give Rammstein- Teir a listen. Also, NIN is what we called industrial alternative back in the day.
I gonna love it if you decide to go down the horror and shock rock rabbit hole. Wait until you hear GWAR
His wife Sherri is in all of his movies and videos.
Maybe as introduction to Manson start with Beautiful People, or sweet dreams cover
Several bands have been sued for people deleting themselves or someone else to the best of my knowledge no one has lost that case, when it happened to judist priest one band member said he couldn't even spell subliminal
Dracula is in as many video games as megadeath that's the band you know from video games I saw that video already
I preferred White Zombie's sound more, but his solo stuff is certainly worth the listen
Highly recommend Marilyn Manson. Start with Dope Show from him.
Rob zombie owns the original Dracula even though that's not the original one in the video
Rob Zombie is in the same category as Alice Cooper... Shock Rock / Metal
If you want harder and darker, check out Cannibal Corpse.
This album was just before mansions album and i think dragula really helped that album blow up and it took the sales of this ablum down sadly
Maybe you just heard his name in passing because of his career choices..
Your channel is excellent; keep up the good reactions. You've already gotten to Iron Maiden, so I will suggest my other favourite: Dream Theater. Added! Will check out soon!
ROB MANSYLON i think your thinking about in the same era
marylin i mwan lol
I believe this song was on twisted metal
You should try Living dead girl, super beast, shit I can’t think of more at moment he has so meany good songs
Have you seen The Matrix? This song is featured in that movie.
That car is the Munsters coach and not the Dracula that is the one that looks ĺike a coffin
Rob zombie makes REAL horror movies, the house of 1000s corps trilogy is probly his defining movies
Respect for doing some research ahead of the reaction. Nobody does this, and they SHOULD!
🖤LOVE ROB ZOMBIE!!! Please react to -Living Dead Girl -Superbeast *Please react to Marylin Manson -The Beautiful People -His covers of -Tainted Love -Personal Jesus -Sweet Dreams -Thanks!
If Rob zombie ever cuts his hair and doesn't have his make up on no one would recognize him
The remix of this song they made for the movie The Matrix is better IMO.
Back when i was in high school Marilyn Manson released his antichrist super star album and it rocketed up everywhere but i know 3 stupid people that felt the need to shoot that album, and I thought you paid for it to destroy it thus making him more money
NIN isn't that hard.
Not sure how you can say they are "not hard" like some of the other bands you mentioned ..... Rob is fuckin hardcore, and rules! Look at him, listen to his music, look at his movies!!!!!
