I clean mine with similar techniques, but also add vinegar to the water. It helps break up the grime a bit more. I use a few smaller bottle brushes that get into the smaller areas. While one can never get it as clean as the day you took it out of the box, you can get close. Ninja really needs to redesign the crisper lid.
Vinegar is a great idea... It is so hard to clean. I agree they need to redesign the crisper lid, maybe with removable clips to take the grate off to soak! Thanks for watching and commenting!
There's no way I can figure to REALLY clean the inside of the lid without disassembly. And that is a *PITA* for sure. A *major* design flaw, imo. Thankfully, I married Mr. FixIt and he has all the proper tools for taking things apart (yeah, yeah, I know, warranty, schwaranty, but I don't want nasty ick melting off the lid from the heat and dripping back into my food, either). The engineers at Ninja need to redesign this thing.
It is a pain. I do wish they made it with a quick release mechanism. Hopefully they will update it with newer versions. Thanks for watching!
I was given a tip today. Not tried yet but will later. Two cups of water. 2 lemons cut in to quarters and 2 teaspoons of bicarbonate of water. Worth a try as mine is rotten as well.
Thank you for the tip! It is so hard to clean!!!
the grill is easy to remove , so is the heating element (one screw) then you can get behind and scrub.
Thank you!!!
I can get all but one screw out, I’ve tried all the different screwdrivers tips/bits I have and none fit it
Yea, i think you're going to have to remove the grill. I mean at this point there's no reason not to.
Once off, maybe soak some tissues in dish soap and isopropyl alcohol and stick it there for maximum contact and leave it to do it's thing for a while.
To go easy on the shoulder, you could buy one of those Dremel scrubbers/cleaner things (don't own one myself). I bet you could get a lot of use out of that for stuff like this.
Uh uh uh toothbrush with some baking soda on it might help with abrasion. Then a spray of vinegar might fizz it cleaner? just thinking out loud.
I think you are right, how else can you get in there?! Dremel scrubber might be what I need .. I have a big electric scrubber (I made a video about it) and it hurts my shoulder too, but a smaller Dremel one might be just the thing. Thanks for the ideas!!!!!!!!
@@FieldOfFocus I just saw that video, and ofcource it did :) that thing looks too cumbersome.
BTW you could also try spritzing it with Hydrogen Peroxide, not the industrial grade but the pharmacy kind so it's food safe. My thinking is that maybe it'll oxidize and breakup the organic bits given time ...
Then some baking soda might effervesce it out. Not sure what electronics are in there so please do be careful.
I watched several videos before deciding to clean mine then kinda combined the ideas.
So I removed that grate cover using a Bonsicoky T15 Torx Security Screwdriver with Magnetic Tip that I got from Amazon--careful not to lose the washers when you remove the screws. I held this cover over a trash can and sprayed fume free Easy-Off and set it aside to let the Off do its magic for easy cleaning later. In the Foodi pot, I poured about a liter of water then added some lemon juice and a few drops of Dawn dishwasher liquid. Then using the Sauté setting, let the liquid heat up to boiling. I then turned it off and closed the lid letting the steam do it job.
I kid you not when I say this alone did 80% of the work for me. In fact, if it were not for the fact that I am little anal and want it to have looking like it's never been used, I could probably leave it as it is because it looks pretty good. If you could see it, you would swear I had used soap and a Scotch-Brite sponge to clean all the areas that are accessible by hand (as I saw in one other video) only I didn't have to use any elbow grease to get it to this point.🎉 The only area that is not a bright silver color is the the fan behind the heating element. which I am hopeful will become silver again once I get to work on it with a bendy straw brush or something.
I think you are right that the best way to clean it will be to remove the grill cover. Thanks for watching and commenting!
4 Screw in a simple Philips wrench and it was clean
I was trying to show how to clean it without disassembling it.. but removing seems to be the way to go! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Just saw a recommended video and they of course disassembled and used what looks like a cleanser and an electric toothbrush on steroids....
oooh electric toothbrush! I don't want to disassemble it... but that might help get into tough spots! Thanks for watching!
i dont like pots orcook ware that cant be fully emersed im wondering how to clean my fans
I feel like parts of the Ninja Foodi are just so hard to clean...
Late to the party, but did you ever figure out a way to get in there? I stupidly used oven cleaner and have tried everything to get it clean enough to use again 😫 hours upon hours!!
eh. so I didn't have the nerve to unscrew it.. so I still just squish as many brushes as I can in there.... pathetic.
@@FieldOfFocus I admire your dedication. You defeated a ninja 🥷
More to the point where can you buy the screwdriver to remove the hexagonal screws holding the plate, which seem to cause the problem. Why not use standard screws in the first place which will allow access to the coil!!!
I agree!!!!! Thanks for watching!
Torx 15 bits for 2 screws and a normal crosspoint for the other two screws / remove the guard and wash by hand - easy
It looks like there are only4-5 screws holding that grill in, take them out and it will be much easier to clean.
Yes however the manual states not to remove it... so I wonder if it is a specialty screw that won't go back in...? Need to investigate further. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@FieldOfFocus Probably a Torx, you can get them at any hardware store or big box stores. It's probably a t-15 out-20
I wonder if you email ninja customer service and ask for suggestions and send then the video link as well. Maybe they will have some other ideas. It might be a long shot.
Good idea!!!
Can u tell how your methodlogies test bacterial n virus differently?
How to test chemical residual on floor cleaner or shampoo or wood floor cleaners?
Currently I only test for bacteria around my home, I have no way to test for viruses. I am not sure how to test for a chemical residue. I have tested bacteria removal for some floor cleaners but not on wood floors. Thank you for watching!
Try removing black grate. Better access.
I think I might have to do that! Thanks for watching!
Hi! I was able to clean inside using a straw brush. Can I send you the video? It’s clean now! 🙂
