I definitely think that there’s a connection between Kpp’ar and the Jailer. If they’re not related, maybe Kpp’ar had heard about the Jailer from legends and become obsessed with emulating her craft. Maybe this also lead him to learn about Aaravos, which is why he had the chest. We know from Puzzle House that he was obsessed with finding a unicorn, which are also connected to Star magic. Maybe he thought one of them could lead him to Aaravos. And then during his repentance, maybe he was the one who enchanted Aaravos’ page in the library book so that no one else could discover him or try to unleash him. I also agree that Kpp’ar is getting out of the coin next season. Aaron Ehasz said in his Twitter that we would eventually learn why Viren put him in the coin. Maybe he gets out next season and we’re treated to a flashback to what Viren did to save Soren as a child, and Kpp’ar tried to stop him because it was too unthinkably evil. I also thought the exact same thing after reading Puzzle House that it should’ve been released before season 5 aired. Since they made sure to release it after season 5 aired, I was genuinely expecting to see either a flashback of him or some more hints as to what his and Viren’s falling out was over. I went into it thinking there was some massive reveal that they didn’t want to spoil before season 5, and was kind of disappointed when there wasn’t. (Also would’ve actually like to have SEEN Soren and Claudia’s mom, even if it was just in a family portrait or a flashback or something, but that’s just me) But I do expect the rock giant to come into play next season. Especially since we’re going to learn more about the extinction of unicorns next season. Maybe Claudia and Terry run into him, and she’s confronted with how much she’s changed, and this ends up being her last chance to redeem herself and help team Zym stop Aaravos. And if they do have to free Kpp’ar from the coin because he might have vital information (assuming Rayla didn’t just forget about him after dropping him in Viren’s lab) there could be an interesting conflict since there are 4 souls stuck in the coins, and only 3 diamonds. So Rayla might have to choose which of her loved ones to save. And then Callum ends up using dark magic to free the last one, and that allows Aaravos to take over. Wow, this comment is a lot longer than I meant it to be. Great video by the way! Always nice to get more Dragon Prince theories!
WOW WOW WOW! I absolutely LOOOVE the idea that Kpp’Ar could’ve performed the book spell to prevent information being leaked but I’m also under the impression that is was done a really long time ago. Regarding the release date for season 5, I am now CONVINCED that it was actually supposed to air somewhere in October because of the spooky vibes of the season. ALSO! I know it’s kind of tangential BUT… There was a solar eclipse in October so I feel like maybe the creators would have liked to coordinate since the landscape in Viren’s dream looks like a solar eclipse (kind of, to me). And I could not agree more about Lissa! Where is she?! LISSA PLEASE CHECK ON YOUR KIDS! THEY ARE NOT OKAY! Surely Viren’s actions have spread throughout all kingdoms. What is she doing!?
@@AngelesLunamoth I definitely think Kpp’ar did enchant the book. In season 5, they had a scene of Callum looking at the book and having it be unreadable. Other than to draw more parallels to him and Viren, why else include that scene unless it’s going to be elaborated on soon. It’s also in the same episode where it’s revealed that Kpp’ar’s in that coin. I can almost hear the writers saying “Hey, remember that thing from season 2? Put a pin in that. It’s gonna be important soon!” Also, I NEED to know more about why Lissa left and never came back. The novel say it’s because what Viren did to save Soren made her fear and resent him. But I’m like, “Lady you MARRIED a dark mage! What did you think would happen?” It’s like a vegan marrying a butcher and then ten years later gets mad when she finds out he uses cow meat for his burgers! I don’t know. Whatever he did had to really terrible to justify her leaving. But also if she did think he was dangerous, why didn’t she report him to the king or Harrow? And why did she leave both her kids with him and then never even bother to visit or even write to them for over 10 years! She really is the opposite of Ursa from Avatar. Ursa left her family to save Zuko from being killed by Ozai, and was under threat to never come back. Lissa left because she was mad at Viren for SAVING their son, and then never came back on her own accord! I expect we will learn more details about her next season. Since Claudia does mention her in the teaser that just released. Also if you read the spoilers from comic con (which I won’t give away in case you haven’t) but Soren has a moment and a subplot next season with Zym that has the potential to have him reflect on his mom. Maybe one of them will run into her and we’ll get her side of the story.
@@shivangparikh2933 I read the spoilers from Comic con. I’ll write about it below if you’re curious. Soren finds Zym crying in the Katolis castle at night looking at a picture of Zubeia, and is worried because they don’t know where she is and why she hasn’t come back. Soren tells Zym he knows how he feels, since he still wonders where his mom is two, and decides to go look for Zubeia with him 😢
I’m curious if you have a theory on why Viren put his mentor in the coin. It’s the one thing I was hoping they’d reveal or at least hint at in the graphic novel. The most likely theory is that it has something to do with Soren’s illness, since according to Claudia he suddenly got better after Kpp’ar disappeared.
Your guess is the same as mine. I’m pretty sure he did it because he didn’t want to meet resistance about whatever he did to heal Soren. I don’t think Viren planned it thoroughly, I feel like it’s something he did on a whim. Hopefully I’ll talk about it in a video… someday soon lol 😵💫 I know it’s not the greatest thing, but it will probably be explored thoroughly in the novelizations of the show.
After seeing Season 6, I highly doubt Kpp’Ar will ever be free unless the Merciful One gives Team Zym another Quasar Diamond. Interesting how Kpp’Ar gave up dark magic in favor of actual engineering.
