Big job. Shit happens. Welcome to working on cars boys. How many times have we looked down on the table after we think were done with the job and see a bolt? I'm a physicist and I still do it.

Please don't get discouraged. The last mile is always the hardest. You could construct a sling for the top using pipe on rollers, some pulleys, etc. that would allow you to remove it by yourself and roll it forward out of the way.

Keep your chin up and stay at it
They have heavy wall revnuts we used in industry seems to work better
Put some blue loctite on the bolts to keep them from rusting just in case you ever need to remove it
Ole Bob has a great attitude and you owe him dinner at his favorite joint when completed

I probably would have added super glue to the rivnut to stop it from spinning, finish the install, and deal with replacing it later if necessary.

no access. If there was, put a pair of vice grips on the rivnut and tighten bolt (or loosen and use the tool to tighten it more) Not sure if he could make an access door or plate because I see a need to get in there in the future.

Too much torque needed. It would not hold for that.

Rivnuts are great on metal, but they are notorious and troublesome on fiberglass, I used to repair things like that and when installing, use a thin flat washer on the bottom when installing on fiberglass.

Did you not put the access panels in on the front cowling to allow access to the front bolts on your Hardtop? That sucks to remove the dash every time you remove your hard top!
