Daniel Hayward | Dreamgirls at The Mayflower

Last week I had the great pleasure of sitting in with Daniel Hayward. He was playing at The Mayflower in Southampton doing Dreamgirls. It was fantastic to watch him doing his thing, what a player! I don’t kwow how these guys do it, the click track starts and stops at the most inconvenient time and the tempos are forever changing. You need to be able to play all musical styles and also sight read whaever is put in front of you, big balls very much required…! I think I’ll stick to playing Mustang Sally down the Dog & Duck… The show continues it's tour so if you get the chance, go and see it, the drumming is epic! 🥁
