I'm so happy you're the drummer, Pete. L42 is my favorite band and one of the greatest. You deserve that seat! Blessings to you all & thank you for the interview, Windsor!
What that amazing and humble fellow sort of brushes over is the fact that at the age of 11 he had learned pretty much their entire catalog of music (at the time), showed up to a gig, and played every tune Mark called PERFECTLY, note for bloody note. Obviously, everyone at that show, both in the band and the audience were having to pick their lowers jaws up from the floor, after that.
I used to watch Pete play with Frank White back when we were kids, one of the best drummers I've ever seen. Great to see him get the Level 42 gig, a long way from the Pheasant Pete.
I'd got used to seeing Level 42 with Pete's predecessor(s) and was blown away the first time I saw them after Pete joined. He added real power to the sound and really brought the songs to life. It felt like his involvement had made the whole band step up a gear. Great drummer.
A ‘dep’ meaning deputy drummer is when one drummer can’t do a performance e.g. because of unavailability and so a ‘dep’ drummer is brought in, like in teaching, etc. (:
Peter Ray Biggin is a brilliant player and his drumming style fits in perfectly with their sound. I've heard that he was hugely influenced by (original Level 42 drummer) Phil Gould's playing and I can certainly detect a similarity in his approach. He's a great addition to the band.
Pete’s a great player and indeed influenced by Phil Gould. You can check out more of his take on that via the podcast I did with him. 👇🏽 Here’s the first part: ua-cam.com/video/tymQ4E7OkcI/v-deo.htmlsi=SDynEvWhggNUahC8 If you enjoy and want to hear more the whole thing’s on Windsordrums.com:podcast 😃

Luv this guy and what he brings to the band.

Never heard of him but he's definitely on point with his drumming. Perfect fit to Mark's percussive bass playing.

There is some slang in there. What is a “depth” drummer? Or did he say temp?
