    Judging my insides by other peoples outsides... not only causes a separation between us. Creates a bigger Rift inside me. Perpetuating the need to judge myself and others to keep the false reality - I can be safe - Existing my way into the next predicament of my own creation

    How can he say "are you willing to acknowledge what your actual experience is"....? It will be what it will be, and we can finally relax. This is the Gift.

    Everything is a big happening, a nonidentified event.
    He doesn't have much more to say, he is just repeating the same all the time. He doesn't know anything about the complexity of life. He just have one answer to everything.

  • @adurgina

    Being is not separated from forms. The forms are an expression of Being. Yet while forms incesantly change, Being remains the same. The old image of the ripples on the ocean...
    The Dao is eternal flow, yet the Dao is always the same, never changing.
    We all are ultimately that. That's why we can understand, be aware, make sense of things. That's why words, and reality, and the flow of impermanent forms, and the stories we tell ourselves can and do have a meaning.

    The difference with the cloud is the appearance of the form has a function, practical purpose, self organising principle and unique complexity based on a relative definition beyond concepts. For example a car clearly has all the things above in the same way a flower or a can opener does.

    "Event" is still a label, as is a "happening" so he still needs to use labels to communicate. But there is no argument with this description yet life will go on as usual. And Renate is correct to say it is just evolution, whether defined or not.

    At 30:00, he loses me when he says that this 'apparent' awakening has not opened up an appreciation or feeling for nature or being part of nature. This is a natural feeling now that one is no longer an 'apparent' person and therefore you know that you are no more or less than other sentient beings and plants, trees, the sea, rivers flowing. This is the gift of non duality.

  • @adurgina
    @adurgina 13 років тому +6

    The subtle error in Darryl's thinking is this: not everything changes, not everything is change. In order to recognize change, there must be something that doesn't change. If there was only change, we wouldn't be aware of change, we wouldn't even have a word to point to the concept of "change".
    There is something that never changes, and that's what we call Being, or Spirit, or God, or Dao, or Consciousness. All meaning, all understanding, all awareness comes from It.

      As Eckhart Tolle wrote· “Consider this: if there were only one color, let us say blue, and the entire world and everything in it were blue, then there would be no blue. There needs to be something that is not blue so that blue can be recognized; otherwise, it would not “stand out”, would not exist.”

      adurgina your error -- he's not saying "there is only change"..that is a "pointer" to the ultimately unknowable..it's not *change"..nothing to change ..it's "unform"..just this, the apoarent..

    I like what he says up until a point, which is, I think, his lack of interest in labels. So yes labels have no fundamental reality but collectively we can use labels. We can use them to share common values. With badly formed shared values we create, confused, anxiety inducing cultures. However, having a different collective understanding about what is going on, along with adjectives and labels to talk about the forms in it, will cause us to make different choices collectively and this cause our culture to become joyous. Even though the words are themselves arbitrary and formless and a part of this happening event

    Sometimes it seems like we are just characters within a story book being read by God. It's only through God reading the book and imaging us within his mind that we, the characters, apparently exist. Take it down from a macro level to a micro level--Do the characters within a book you're reading ever consider that they are only imagined characters within your mind? Never.

    Despite the movement I can hug you, feel you ..
    Have you even listened to anything Daryl has asked you to explore.
    There is no you or I. No Daryl or Renate to feel or touch. This is the very illusion he speaks of.
    Don’t but but but … listen from your teacher and experience for your
    “ imagined “ self goddamit. 💚
    Then the imagined you, will finally see that it is not there. Its just imagined that is it.
    ….. Done ….
    Imagination, imagining itself to exist as a form labelled a body and mind.
    C’mon 🌞🌙

    Yes, but the formless, unlabeled, mirage-like, "one event" is also doing the labeling, dividing, separating, creating meaning where there is none, storytelling, languaging, etc.

  • @adurgina
    @adurgina 13 років тому +2

    If Darryl is right, then his words have no meaning, so he isn't really saying anything, so he can't be right (or wrong).
    The previous sentence can be seen as a proof that words have no meaning (in that case we would better stop talking, or at least stop trying making sense when we talk); or it can be seen as a proof that Darryl is NOT right.
    I think he is ALMOST right, almost there, but there's a subtle mistake at the bottom of his thinking.
    Anyway, as Renate said, his approach is fascinating.

    I think this guest is confusing sound for word. Sound is much deeper than just conveying words. I think the vibrations of one sound over another might in fact have intrinsic "meaning" or effect, for lack of an apt word.

    @adurgina but what is the tendency to evaluate him as right or wrong or close or far from the truth? These are just motions in the mind it seems, and the error is being projected of a heaviness felt within your own experiencing. is that true? How could there be an error if you are that?
