Screen shot means nothing anymore because Uber delete the information and ignores the screenshots when send ti them through messenger app. Then someone else responds as if they never received the screenshots.
So you know as 1099 workers we have no federal liability so you don't half to pay taxes only federal workers and w2 jobs half to pay taxes because they have a federal liability. So I went solar on my house to get the solar credit so when I went to do my taxes this year for last year I was told I have no federal liability and can't get the solar credit I was told I would get and because I don't have a w2 job I have no federal liability and don't qualify for the credit. The only people that half to pay taxes are people that have a federal liability. Only federal employees half to pay taxes and a w2 job is a federal employee and anyone that works for the government that is all that is required to pay taxes.
They should make it when a rider cancels we get a credit towards our cancel rate.
We shouldn't have a cancel rate or acceptance rate to begin with. If they want to encourage drivers to pick up a majority of riders, pay us fare wage like it was in the beginning and send out notifications to riders when they're rated low in the same way that we're sent reports about fast driving, etc. It should be in a message type feature, they can choose to read the message or ignore it

So this happened to me yesterday, I was in Riverside wanting to go to Seal Beach and a ride comes up to Long Beach. The pickup was 9 miles away but I’m headed home anyway so I don’t care. I get .5 miles away from the pickup and the rider sends me a message “ cancel “ and that’s it. I pull up close to the house but not next to it. And I get another message cancel the the ride please. I’m like I just drove 9 miles to pick you up and you want me to cancel, no way. So I play dumb because people are shady and you never know if they’re going to come out and start yelling at you. I message back ok. And wait two minutes and she text me cancel I just broke my ankle. Lie, so I’m texting her, they just changed the app and I’m looking for the cancellation button. And two minutes later she’s like just cancel it easy. I texted they always make things hard to find lol. 5 minute mark I canceled. People are crazy
I never cancel the ride if they ask me to. It would go against me AND there wouldn't be a cancelation fee
LOL! I would have just ignored the messages and went on a few apps until the timer elapsed. I was in busy Boston yesterday and this idiot was at an intersection. I pulled around the corner, told her that drivers cannot pick up here if she's observant and needs to be on the sidewalk BEFORE ordering the Uber since we are literally 1 to 3 mins away. She huffs and puffs, says she "sees me." The timer expired, I drive away. Didn't realize she was still on the phone, she's saying, "Where are you going? Where are you going?" I cancel and get my fee. Toes to the curb or I'm out. You'll get another driver within minutes, and then you'll complain to the driver that you were cancelled out, leaving out the details that you weren't outside and that drivers can't sit and obstruct the flow of traffic
We need to sue them !!!! We are NOT 1099 , we are EMPLOYEES since they can control how we do our job. If we are really 1099 they cannot have ANYTHING to do with why we do or do not want to accept rides, nor can they control what they pay us , if we were truly 1099 we would get 100% of what we make , i am a professional tattoo artist and have been for 10 years. I am 1099 and nobody can tell me what to do, also i am in control of all my client information, it does not belong to a SHOP. They are controlling us

Uber has started adding miles to trips they’re not adjusting
payments. On the offer card it says one thing and then once you start the ride it says something different. Usually a couple of miles longer.
Driver mistake was accepting shared trip, there is always drama associated with those cancelation
I get so many angry passengers because Lyft guarantees they will arrive to their destination on time but they do not count traffic lights, stop signs, traffic, etc and many of them end up being late for work even though I drive as fast as I safely can. They quit using Uber and switched to Lyft and apparently both companies guarantee arrival time without calculating traffic lights.
It's a scam. No mater how you work the program, you operate at a loss. A driver would make more money standing on a corner with a sign.
And yet we keep on doing it, something is very wrong with our brains
That air conditioning in my car and less stinky with slightly better company of humans is the only reasons I am not on the corner in Brownsville Texas with all the other bums and panhandle masters they are making more $ as I average $5 per hour before expenses.
Everybody needs to sue in small claims court for any in discrepancy, they hate it it's what i do.
I had a comfort ride cancel, I got a 3.80 cancellation fee. However, the pickup was on a toll road that was 1.50, and the only way for me to get back was to take the toll. The ride cost me a total of 5.50 to get back to the airport, and they said all I was getting was the cancellation fee.
I definitely do not get 10-15 seconds to see my ride info.
Something I see frequently is a ping for a trip as I’m passing the exit. Sometimes it might be a simple next exit issue that take me less than a mile extra, but most times it is the or 4 miles plus 5 to 10 minutes of hassle. If a ping is for a trip behind me, most times I refuse it when I’m on the highway.
This isnt just happening to the drivers. As a customer, I've been trying to speak with someone from Uber. My issue is that my upfront price always change after the completion of the ride. I'm seeking out the process of doing a class action suit
After I cash out leaving $0, someone sent me $5 tip, Uber took .12. Why??

I think I have identified a problem Uber is shaving the mileage a 40 mi ride that used to pay $44 now pays $38
I was supposed to get a $4 cancelation fee, and they gave me $2.
I noticed that when I receive a ride and start heading to the destination Uber lies about the distance. I use Waze for my Navigation. Same way, same distance and the Uber app will say four minutes but my Waze will say six or 7 minutes. I've screen shot this many times just in case so I can prove it!
I screen record my entire shift every single day. If there's any variance I don't care if it's 10 cents I submitted reviews. And I just keep on going back until they make the adjustment and realize it's costing them more money than it would to just pay me.
I have a corporate Uber account with my company and the corporate accounts can cancel anytime even after 2 minutes and we are not charged a cancelation fee. So maybe why he didn't get a cancelation fee.
If you pull up and they cancel you get paid your wait time and cancellation fee. But if you cancel you don’t get paid
Uber tried to "dynamic pricing" BS on me. They purposely took me on a slightly longer route and i called them BS on it
Every single trip, where i have to request a fare review on cancellation, goes this way. You will receive x amount but amount received never matches.
Uber is a shady company. I drove as a side hustle. I drive a tesla so i quite enjoyed the E.V. incentive. An extra dollar per trip. Then uber changed the incentive structure to "drive more E.V.s to do rideshare" so now to get $210, you need to complete 200 trips in a month... I only drive maybe 70 trips a month. Im not even close to meeting that goal so i quit driving uber.
Bad policy. In an attempt to get more EV's to drive, they are scaring off people like me

I been through this a few times with Uber earlier this year and last year.
I don't do rideshare but i deliver packages for other apps and this happens to me a lot too.
The exact same thing has happened to me several times now where they didn’t give me the cancellation fee and I went in and made them do it a fair adjustment and they said I’m sorry that you didn’t get your cancellation fee right away. We’re gonna give you $5.35 And then I go and look and only gave me $3.60 and I didn’t take pictures and went back to try to find the message and messages gone. you have to check every canceled ride now to make sure they’re going to take it from you and keep it for themselves
One time I arrived and waited 5 minutes and I never got a cancellation fee Lyft never gives cancellation fees only Uber does and since summer started I've been getting $4 rides like 7 miles away almost 15 minutes
Idk why ppl still driving full time for Rideshare .Those who renting a car will always be in the negative

I had destination set by accident on Uber and they gave me pick up from the destination zone 😂.. £4 trip which was about 20miles away.
I think its a software bug which sometimes can mismanage the trips allocated to drivers.

So when I drove almost exclusively for Uber, this would happen to me and I'd not take screen shot, I thought I was going crazy some days!
Just turn on screen recorder and record every ride. You dont have to worry about trying to get screenshot. Its easier to piece together what happened with a video than image. Filesize shouldn't be an issue.

Unfortunately at this point I believe that you have to screen record your entire work day because you never know when the next bullshit is going to happen. And eventually it does happen...

Both live and Uber do this. Lift is way worse especially where I live because the city I work in has loops all around it so Lyft says the fastest route is this and then it uses the shortest route for the mileage but it's 7 minutes if you drive seven miles and it is 18 minutes if you drive 3.8 miles. When you accept the ride it routes you the shortest route not the fastest. And so many lift and Uber drivers in my city are so dumb and will only go the exact prescribed route. I get customers in my car that challenged me when I take the route different from what it says. They tell me that their drivers before said that they cannot change the route in any way. I tell them watch me and we will be there much faster.
But who really cares if the pickup distance or time is wrong if it is just cancel. Now it's a little bit worse once you've gotten to the customer and everything is way off but pick up whatever.
I look at total time and price, don't care about miles.
If I accepted this ride and it showed 5 mins before and 14 mins after I accepted for 4.95, I'd immediately cancel and just state....not worth it....if I was able to leave a comment it would be something on the lines of "because Uber lied, tried to scam me"
Honestly I have found Uber to be more reasonable when requesting a canceled ride fare, but Lyft is a stone wall. I can provide them proof that I went over 2 minutes and deserve the canceled fee and no matter how I phrase the request I am denied. I can provide proof on my mileage recording app but they still will disagree I end up angry, disappointed for the waste of time attempting such request
Can you orovide suggestion for how best to get compensated from Lyft without it taking away from time driving/earning? Because you can waste a half hour to an hour easy. They just keep asking uf you'll hold for 3 minutes. 😠

This has been happening to me in the Orlando, Florida area as well.
Uber upfront fare distance and trip time considerably changes after I've accepted the trip to longer travel distance and longer drive times and yet not one time has it ever changed to less travel distance and less drive time with more pay😂

I lost my previous job in September on the 14th of September I applied to drive for uber I was tired of door dash not working right so I applied to Uber they asked for 1 picture of my credentials at a time instead of asking for all of it so I sent them all the stuff they asked for then I got emails asking to resend them because they were burry I resubmitted them in the mean time I applied for Amazon flex same company that does the background check I was cleared for Amazon but I was waiting for uber I sent them a message the first of October asking when can I drive they wanted more pictures I sent them pictures every Friday I asked if I can drive yet they said it take 3 to 4 days to clear everything I said it's been 3 weeks and so on finally October 20th they said I can drive it took them a month to clear me to drive
I had a similar problem with a canceled fare I was in the parking lot and the timer started and I get the noticed they canceled no fee I was in the parking lot
Is simple uber think drivers is slave not independent contractor and don't want it care drivers

It's sad as a driver u must b ontop of ur game. When uber sends a fare 1 mile away to pickup and becomes 8.7 miles away in a congested area I immediately cancel. Affective the fare has turned into no money and a ding on our cancelation rate. Ridiculous. worked gay pride this weekend made less than half what I usually make. Real money in rideshare has definitely passed.
Wow, he thinks it's cool to be earning $5 for 10ish minutes? Does he math? What if the customer takes 3 minutes to get out to the car? What if they take 6 minutes to get out to the car? I won't even accept sub $7 rides. And they must be paying over $30 an hour. And depending on what time of day or night sometimes that gets bumped up to $42 an hour.
Never accept a min or est mile fare. Drivers fault. At least in my market. Trip radar gives distance to pick up and town or city destination with cross streets. Aka confusing unsuspecting drivers. Give us back regular pings.... Data K suxs
