Exactly. They public shooter intends on being killed by anyone willing to respond, but continues to select gun free zones where people are very unlikely to be armed and they can carry out the attack.
This is why I carry everywhere I go. I carry open and concealed depending on the place, even carry in and around my home. I pray the day never comes but always ready if it does because NO ONE is gonna risk their life for my kids the way I will and I know their safety is best trusted to me.
Wow!! I just finished an Active Shooter course. Im quoting the instructor, "If you think this class is for you to run to safety, get out of this class now!!" It was all about getting your family to go to a safe location while you engage and eliminate the threat.

My issue with this isn’t fighting the active shooter, but identification. My own identification of the actual threat vs that of another citizen doing the right thing, and vice versa.

Most cops wouldn't do that. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I was in that situation, and I had the ability to stop that monster, but didn't. It just sucks because I live in a place where they're gonna try and put me in prison if I do stop the threat. I don't think that's a valid excuse for cowardice though.

Well if it's kids then it's likely a school so I wouldn't be armed if I was there. If it's a place I'm at it's likely more adults than kids and in that situation I'd like to think I'd stop it but I don't know how I'd respond in reality.
Running into an active shooter zone with a gun while police are still trying to identify the suspect(s) sounds like a fast way to become a hindrance and another body.

I never forget I was at the Detroit Airport flying back from the UK when my towns Walmart got shot up ak tula 8m3. A young couple my friends knew died shielding there baby she survived, an older lady lived down the street from my grandparents the round over penatrated someone else so she took the mushroomed round through her wrist and out her elbow. Somehow the town fucked up the court case against him fucking 5 years now. A family friends uncle is a guard at the prison guarding him says he just reads alot some bullshit
