You can tell she is being 100 by the way she lights up reflecting about her past. Not necessarily glamorizing it but taking ownership and ultimately not passing blame. I have so much respect for the way she got clean once she found out about being pregnant especially with how many years she had been using prior to that. That must of been a lot tougher then she stated.

Honestly this is proof of how much a mother loves her children even before they are born. I had been smoking cigarrettes for 14 years before finding out I was pregnant. I had tried quitting so many times and failed. But the day I found out I was pregnant I quit and haven't smoked since. I was not going to be a bad example for my kid!!! The love a good woman has within is nothing short of miraculous. This woman did what most can't and seems to be living her best life!!❤

Couple of things ive noticed within the first 10 minutes of watching:
    1. This dude tries way too hard to seem like hes down. I cringed in the beginning when he tried speaking some long ass name in his spanish accent and she was like nah i just go by Christina.
    2. Dude needs to respect her boundaries more. Let her decide if she wants to tell people what city shes from instead of you doing it for her. She may have reasons why she doesnt want that aired out for everyone to know.
    3. This dude 100% sounds like he works for the feds. Im not saying he is working for them but being a podcast host would be the perfect excuse for asking all these questions that the law would never otherwise be able to get answers to. This is 100% something the feds would do.
    4. I get weasel vibes from this dude. Like he would have no problem using your head as a stepping stone to get to where he needs to be instead of earning his way there through hard work & respect.
Yall be careful out here man. Make sure 7 years have passed before you talk about anything with this man. Remember, real G's move in silence.

I grew up in south central LA and had 100% similar experiences as she did with gangs not that I was a gang member but my brothers cousins aunts uncles and growing up in the 90s was scary but it was the reason why I vowed to leave the hood and I did and would never go back. The elementary school i went to was South Park Elementary school in LA , the Jr High I went to was Mary McCloud Bethune Junior high school and I went to John C Fremont High School which is adjacent to the schools she's mentioning and had just as much gang influences in the schools as the ones she mentions. I'm glad I never got caught up in all of that mess and will actually say that watching my brothers live that life and how it destroyed their lives it made me realize that I never wanted that kind of life for myself. This life was the ultimately what caused my oldest brother his life just at the time of his life where he was finally trying to turn his life around and because of that I will always condemn that life. It devastates the lives of those who are family and friends to the people who choose that life not just the people who chose to live it.

Me and homegirl are the same age, same story except I never took for granted how much my grandparents and my mom sacrificed so that me and my siblings could be in America. I was one of the young people in the 90’s preaching against gangs, we tried to tell these knuckleheads to help their parents and succeed but instead they chose strangers over family and when they got locked up it was the family suffering paying attorney fees, court fees and money on the books. I seen grandparents and parents die living the last years with a broken heart because the children were stupid. In the 90’s I told so many of my immigrant friends that one day the government would change the laws and deport them, they needed to get their papers right before that time came. Well that time came and they all got deported. I don’t feel sorry. God kept His promise to their ancestors but they forsake God so judgment arrived. It’s all sad with gangs and drugs nothing to glorify.

Tired of this life being glorified, especially from hardworking parents who sacrifice their life for their kids to have a better chance in life. It’s very narcissistic. Married my husband who had a daughter while in h.s. In this area. Her mother’s lifestyle was completely different than ours. He had custody but the mother abducted her & she had no US Id with multiple names after loosing custody. The daughter became entrenched in this whole mess with the help of Mexican nationals as social workers that don’t understand the Chicano neighborhoods. Our other children & this daughter’s children were all negatively affected from her activity: jumped in, drugs, drive bys theft, fraud, multiple times in juvie-prison with family raising her children. We tried to pick up the pieces, but between courts with young ignorant social services who are either ignorant, dumb, or …. I have been held at gun point in my own home by someone looking for her after moving. Gang members went after our younger kids & shot up our house. We were forced 2x to move. Things got so bad we moved states away for our children’s safety. She still lives this addictive life style & has options but doesn’t choose them. We paid too big of a price & her kids want nothing to do with her. She misses them & can’t understand how to fix it.

My first time watching your show. Got into this show because of Cristina. She was beautiful when she made her choice and still extremely beautiful now. Her personality and openness with her life and her story.
I had a similar life in the 70's when I was growing up in Northern California. Gang by 14, selling drugs at the same time. Auto theft in tight with a meth cook for the hells angels. I am going to check out her podcast. I would love to meet her and talk. Now I've been clean and sober for 31 years.

He definitely over exaggerated. What he meant: gang banging is not like it used to be. LA violent gang crime is way down, and most gangs don’t overtly fly their colors, nor are they more violence based. Gangs are much more interested in covert operations and making money. Police attention and prison is bad for business (at least on the gangs end). A suffering economy, social evolution, trial and error, and technology are direct reasons as to why this change is a continuum.
