- This video reviews how to record gameplay from your Xbox Series S/X console and move the videos to your mobile device to be edited for UA-cam, Twitter, TikTok, etc. NO COMPUTER, NO CAPTURE CARD, NO USB is required for the method showed in this video.

Actually on the PS5 when recording (up to 1hr of 4k/60fps w/HDR to the system itself) it'll record your voice as well and can be edited thru Share Factory with many options including a camera feature. Not a fan boy, just saying the recording options are a bit better on PlayStation. Just got my Series-X yesterday tho and I'm hyped! LoL

Coming from Ps5 I am super disappointed how limited the record settings for my Series X are.
Even the Ps4 was miles ahead in this area.
Hopefully MS can fix that with a patch.
It's a real pain. I've caught some great clips which would have been made way better with voice. My buddy has been on PS all the way and the capture with voice makes his clips so much better. Especially now with proximity chat in Warzone2
@@valderja true that’s the reason why I play with the Ps5 mostly. Use my Series X only for its exclusives and the backwards compatibility for 360 games.
The XBox One was better for clips because it allowed 5 minute recordings, which I really need. I was severely disappointed as well with the series x limiting it to 3 minutes. That's not enough time, and the only way to get more time is to attach an external hard drive used only for clips, you then can't have your external hard drive with your games attached. Really haven't been wonderfully happy with that.
Still trying to figure out how to save clips from the PS5 too. There doesn't seem to be a way to do that at all which is even more disappointing.

@@Moraenil On the PS5, you just start recording. You can turn on your mic and set the volume relative to your game. Once it's recorded you can upload directly to your UA-cam channel. Assuming you've got the space, the PS5 will limit you to 1 hr at a time and at 55 minutes you'll get a display of your time in the top center of the screen. (that doesn't show up on your video)
I was looking at this to record some Starfield footage tomorrow, but now I've got to wait till the 6th and do it on my PC since I only have the early access upgrade for the Xbox version. (and apparently that can't record)
If you're still struggling with the PS5 for recording or YT stuff, look for a tutorial video. It's all available in the console and you don't need a phone or computer. (well, you'll probably want to rename it and set some parameters on your YT content screen once it uploads, but you can do that with any potato PC)

Pretty helpful , was hopeless with trying to figure out video editing softwares and elgatos.
I wish we could have audio in our clips. For me it would be better to have a longer timeframe and editing app built in. This would be better for long form content.
You can also record with twitch HOWEVER you can only download your twitch videos from computer.

This is the only thing I dislike about my Series X so far behind when it comes to this feature. My PS5 I can do everything video wise on it even edited it to be ready for UA-cam videos. 1hr long video's at 60fps/4k I really hope they update this soon. Thanks for the video.

Do they have to be short clips that u can record and edit this waay or can you record and edit 20 30 monute vids this waaay too and if so is there a waay to use your phones cam for these vids also also wit the audio do u add that in when editing or do u speak during the video wen recording the clip of a game and den edit afterwards if that makes sense
I’ve wanted to record more videos but I don’t have access to a pc anymore, so hopefully this will help me out! I do have to ask what size hdd should I get? Are the files really big? And would I be able to use a Mac to connect to the hdd and edit the files?

@@Zer0Perplexity yes, in PlayStation you can press the share button and then save like the last hour of what you did. Or choose an exact amount of time you want to save up to an hour

I used to record clips on my series when I first got it when they first dropped, and the clips would have voice audio of my teammates, not my voice but there’s were in the clips. I wish I saved them from then but idky they removed it and didn’t just add ours while they were at it.

Dude like if you have the ssd of the xbox series s then you can record to an hour with an ssd and you don't need an usb right or usb 3.0 is the only option available

You wouldn't happen to have a guide or tutorial on how to record commentary would you? I'm using a flashdrive to record my clips and I am wanting to get into commentary but theres where my issue lays. I want to be able to mute myself when lets say I need to cough or mute myself for a moment but that is easily unmuted so I can return to commentary.
You can mute yourself in the editing software.

How do you record the screen for a photo / video that you are not playing? It doesn't let me unless I go into a game and then when I'm in the game and try to take a screenshot (the TWITCH connection guide) for example it doesn't let me because it takes a picture of the game itself and not the settings like you did at the beginning of the video (want to take a screenshot of the screen the main example and something I change in the settings)
I used flash drives with my Xbox one and it was so easy to edit, BUT with the Series X things are a bit different, I am using USB 3.0 SanDisk but my recorded videos are uneditable! meaning that each time I cut the video or use a software to edit, the picture always comes out greyed or washed out!! the only way to cut my videos is, luckily, through UA-cam LoL. Any help please?
Which one yall recommend to use on an Android device to edit video clips off xbox?
I was thinking this was going to help us download our clips and screenshots from the app on the pc for editing and saving. The pc app has no way to access clips or screenshots, so I've been using the console companion app which does allow it. As of Aug 28, 2023 (very soon), they're completely dumping the most useful app ever and leaving us with no options. Please update this and include a way to do it on the pc. People are desperate.

I've owned both Playstation and Xbox and I can say proudly when it comes to recording, accessories, and navigation Playstation is way easier, and reliable
So are we unable to edit and capture entirely in the xbox like with Upload Studio back on the Xbox One? The app is still there it just doesn't launch. All I'm looking to do is combine game clips for montages so I can reduce the overall amount of clips I have stored. (IE adding all similar clips together for one big clip and having sections of gameplay)
