If Aegon was going to round up all the rat catchers to be hanged, why the hell didn't he have Helaena identify the one that was actually there?
Good point, they have an eye-witness (the batshit crazy oracle relative).
Excellent point! Didn't even think of that.
He could've also used cheese to help him identify the rat catcher 😂
Cuz he doesn't care abt her, or what she thinks, we saw they barely interact. He's shortsighted Otto said so himself
Because they dismiss Helaena as an idiot and Aegon *is* an impetuous idiot, as Otto would say (baha).
That episode was INSANE.
Loved Otto Hightower in this episode, bro was trying to hard to be a Westerosi PR queen only to realise that he is indeed surrounded by idiots. 🤣🤣
To be fair Otto himself was a n idiot thinking that he had Aegon’s ear like Viserys, and basically saying out loud twice that Jaehaerys dying was better than him living and how they can now exploit the families grief (real wtf moments there).
Oh Babayyyyy you know I love me some Otto Hightower. I mean this guy was pulling out all the stops to spread fake news throughout the realm and that was some kingly behavior...until he realized the moron he installed is a moron who actively undoes everything, bahahah.
Such a good episode. Give Rhys Ifans a statue.
@@islasullivan3463 I actually think Otto was fine there I mean no one in the room disagree with Otto's thought (other than Aegon of course). Aegon's just kind of an idiot, but I love him so ::shrug::
It's his own fault
@@katherinealvarez9216 It sure was!
Poor Erryk, saved his queen, but had to kill his brother to do so.
Awful bloody stuff...awful bloody stuff war.
The Twins...such a moment.
When the casket cart got stuck, I was waiting on the head to roll off from being jolted
Hah - see I never thought so! I seem to be an outlier. The head look pretty well sewn on, so I didn't think twice about it!
@@TheBattProductions it would have been so traumatic, but so hilarious for us with dark sense of humor.
That dog better become a recurring character. Let him lead the storming of the dragon pit.
Bahaha
The Dog is going to come back riding Vermithor
Tom Glenn-Carney is amazing. His portrayal of Aegon is fantastic. The scene of Alicent walking in while he is grieving. I knew the two princes were neglected, and this episode shows exactly what comes of that neglect. I wanted to shake her. I was saying to the screen, "Go be his mother,". All these actors are just killing it! I also think this was the first time we've seen small folk living as an actual community. Not just angry mob scenes. I really enjoyed that. I am very much looking forward to the storyline of the dragon seeds. All in all, great episode.
Wonderful commentary - you're completely right. Being an absentee mother like this is pay awful dividends right now and what does she do instead of comfort her grieving son? go BANG her guard that she doesn't love. This woman is full of self hate and refuses to get out of her own way.
@@TheBattProductions You can even see it in Aemond craving that maternal sort of comfort from the sex worker as much he may have slept with her. She is the one he confides in about not intending to kill Luke, too, not his mother, or Otto, but this woman he can be vulnerable around. I think this episode really demonstrated well how much Otto and Alicent have failed these two boys and what has made they both into who they are.
@@laileleneirose7966 Absolutely. I wouldn't be shocked if Aemond didn't even have sex with that woman and really just wanted to lie naked like a baby to get some sort of maternal comfort for once.
INteresting on Aemond's part where he also thinks Daemon sent Blood & Cheese because Daemon's afraid of him...even when he's right, he's wrong.
I love your conspiracy theory of the Dog ratting out Cheese for kicking him 😂😢
TELL THE RATCATCHERS...IT WAS ME - Dog
a teenage girl sent Crispy on his path to be a villain? If a grown man being rejected by teen is what set him off, then he was always a villain hun
Its fiction. Don't apply logic to it 😂
Alright alright don't take what I'm saying to be too literal here. There's nuance of course if we want to make the conversation longer - but I mention that because I'm saying Rhaenyra isn't blameless, but of course Criston is at fault for basically all of it. I spent the rest of the video tearing Criston apart, haha.
@@Chimera_166 Nah I'm good with applying logic to it - because I think it is logical. There are guys out there who cannot handle rejection or their pride being hurt. However Criston was, by modern lens, sexually assaulted by Rhaenyra so I mean...yeah some of that is on her as to why he broke his vows and now is having a "well I'm already sullied, so who cares let's do it again" mentality. That's why I love the story though.
Imagine him explaining it to Tywin
@@TheBattProductions sorry fell asleep before finishing the video. Didn't mean to come off as rude
It would've been cool to see helaena and Dreamfyre light the pyre of Jaehaerys
That would've been very cool. Just like poor Aemma!
I hate that they didn’t show that part of it. Any chance to have a dragon do something other than fly is worth putting in the show.
@@eddiegodat8263 I think that’s a very fair POV
As a Brother it hurts me so much Ser Erryk killing his brother was painful to watch.
Ser Erryk killing his bro...man you just wonder what the hell is this all for? Why are we even bothering? What trumps this brotherly love?
@@TheBattProductions For a while I thought it was a game and battle of time.If Arryk prevailed he would just feign being his twin brother and continue on his mission but would he do the same after killing his brother is what I question?
@@zatturonald2533 Exactly. I mean if evil Twin wins, then keep the rouse up and say you're the good one then BOOM, kill Rhaenyra.
The twin fight is the most heartbreaking scene in the whole show. This episode was my favorite by far.
it's really sad - I despise it, but it was a really fun watch so I'm excited by that.
I probably laughed a little bit harder than we were really meant to at one particular line, but Otto had the most realistic ‘father of a daughter’ moment in this episode that he’s ever had.
Alicent: “I have sinned.”
Otto: “I do not wish to hear of it.”
As one of three girls in my family, I have heard my dad say more than once when referring to my sisters and I: “I don’t ask questions I don’t wanna know the answer to.” I had to pause the show, I was dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣
When did Otto turn into an actual dad?
I yelled at the screen when Erryk fell on his sword!!! Nooooooooooooooooo 😢
I went OHHHHHHHH damn. I didn't see that coming, Kim.
@@TheBattProductions me neither so sad
I place full blame on Criston for the twins demise. "Where were you?" He was doing his job protecting the king while Mr. Crispy was 'abed'. That was the moment I began looking forward to his demise. His cloak is as soiled as they come.
I can't really argue with you about this, hah. He's awful.
14:07 Cheese's dog is not ratting him out but rather loyally staying at his master's feet 🐾 {A dog is the only thing on earth that ❤︎'s you more than he ❤︎'s himself} That's just how dogs are!
How does this channel not even have 50K yet. Holy shit.
I dunno man - I'm drowning over here! I'm thankful for the community here, but I think it can get bigger brotha!
Lastly: I appreciate you. Thanks man.
I love ser Christen Cole… he’s such a bad guy, but also complex af. He’s just kinda crazy, but honourable and yet not?? Kinda reminds me of the opposite of Jaime Lannister. Like he’s just a complex villain and the actor is really good.
Absolutely! He's a big of a jaggass more than Jaime admittedly (he certainly didn't save King's Landing from wildfire), but he was set off on a weird path initially by Rhaenyra and then really ruined everything from there himself over and over...and I love it. He's a total idiot with no moral core anymore.
"Mark it with a sharpie or something!" couldn't agree more
Yeah just come on I mean just a little dash across the back of the neck will do!
I hope they show the repercussions of killing all the rat catchers. Like since food isnt coming in because of the blockade the rats start eating all the minimal food causing the smallfolk to lose it
I hope so, too - too much was swinging in the right direction of the Greens and this fallout would be nice to see.
hi, nice video, I totally agree that this episode was really good, the acting was amazing. btw the Targaryen princess on Rhaenyra's book is definitely Visenya, it says under the picture "Visenya Targaryen riding Vhagar".
Hey there! Indeed it is - that's why I actually put in the video on screen that it was Visenya because after I filmed, I was able to look at the screenshot and could see who it was. I appreciate you also letting me know here though as well Pac Jon!
Arryk should have given up when his brother busted into the room.
I think that's certainly a good way to go about it since they are brothers and care for one another.
Your videos are my favorite!!!!!!💕😇
“You wanna throw a carrot at him” made me laugh out loud
THANK YOU Kaelyn...you're a total sweetheart. That made my morning to read that. Bahh.
Don't you though?! I mean you wanna hurl *something* at him...that weird boxy haircut. Bahah.
The sheer amount of YT videos about it, recapping it, explaining it in record time telltale that #HOTD season 2, episode 2 MUST be outstanding in SOME way. I also watched someone claiming that a hype-train dragon was wrapped around some sightseeing building in the USA.
This is true!
no…we don’t all miss lucerys…may have regretted the losing of the temper but he did take my eye….
Bahahahahahahha
Dude it's been days since Viserys died, the poor designer would have to slave away day and night to make uniform for Rhaenyra's army in such a short period
And I get that if they can't figure out the armor portion, but they definitely could get a different cloak. That's just basic stuff to me but what can ya do.
I think Mysaria was being true to not picking sides and didn’t say anything.
Because she was just as far from the castle as the twin was and could have easily notified the guards before he got there. And say she made it right after he did, then there would have been a bunch of guards rushing up there eventually which never happened. And there was time too considering he had to walk around the castle to find the queen and even spent time hiding from his brother.
The queen even had to yell at the maid to go get help and only one person showed up.
I think she was being true, also. I do think Mysaria at least tried it seems - otherwise I'm not totally sure why they'd include that into the story ya know.
But it does appear if she did, it didn't help much.
@@TheBattProductions I agree… I'm pretty sure that's what Rhaenyra was attempting to look at as she kept pulling away from having her hair braided
@@suzyjak6177 Absolutely
This episode was fantastic! A lot of great set up for the coming weeks. Aegon and Criston are such idiots they had me agreeing with Otto. Btw Criston is just still mad that Rhaenyra didn't want to give up her life as the future Queen to run away with his broke ass.
I hope this isn't the last time we see Rhaenyra and Daemon interact.
It was SO GOOD right?!?! I loved it.
Baha. I think you're right about Ser Criston as well. Dude has been bitter for a while and I get why he's bothered but there's now ay she could leave. He was nuts for that.
I thought Erryk (blacks, Queen Rhaenyra's guard) won the fight, but killed himself because he was mortally wounded and maybe cause of the fact that he had to murder his own twin, which filled him with grief.
I love that one of the brothers said "I still love you brother" so I was waiting for the other brother to say the same, but was sad that that didn't happen. Still an amazing scene though
Yeah in the show, I couldn't tell so I just threw my hands up when filming and said "I dunno one of them won the fight and died" haha. They both had reasons to apologize to Rhaenyra IMO and I felt bad either way since the Cargylls are good blokes.
They said in the behind the scenes show that both received the same wounds, so that it wasn’t obvious who won, and could be interpreted as both had a reason to kill themselves after killing their brother and now considered a kin slayer.
@@eddiegodat8263 that’s why I think it’s so difficult to know who won right away but I’m sure if I paid more attention to beards or something, it’d be more obvious.
Can anyone explain about the Dusts that Helaena saw while hallucinating? Rhynera had that moment too
I've thought about that myself...I haven't quite worked it out what that means, but it was intentional for sure.
You miss the part abou what kind of family the greens have . I don't think there's love. All is about power, greed and desire.. Otto refused to listen to his Daughter's confession. Alycent was about to comfort her grieving son, but decided to walk away and Aemond seeking a mother figure from a Whore.
I completely agree with you, it shows the dysfunction of this family and how desperately the two boys crave love and affection and what means they turn to instead to try and fill the hole. Aemon goes to the sex worker he can be vulnerable around and Aegon is left to grapple with his feelings and grief alone.
I think I covered that indirectly, but sure I think that can be a whole video discussing how the Greens are not much of a family but rather all grasping at power in some form. That's a great thought!
Absolutely! Great insight, Lailenei
11:20 lmaooo😂😂😂
Man sometimes I just SAY stuff, hah.
The one thing that confuses me is that if rhenarya wanted to secure her rightful throne why wasn’t she in king landing to secure the position . Right after her dad died. So nobody else could steal her position . But I know it is what it is inevitable war was gonna happen due to source material
She went back to Dragonstone to her home (since it's her home of course) and her Dad died unexpectedly. Before she found out VIserys was dead, the Greens had already taken the Throne for themselves. Basically they stole it from her before she even knew.
Succinct review 🌟
1. Idc who wins this stupid civil war, I just want the dog to happy ending. He deserves better now that cheese is gone.
2. That scene with Otto was perfect, especially when he realizes Aegon wasn't fit to be king and he knows it.
3. Christan cole is getting dumber by the second can't wait for him to die in that battle.
4. Glad we got the scene with the 2 brothers its quite an emotional moment in the books
5. Was wondering if they'd introduce daeron but they did so great, Alicient might be a bad mom ugh but shes likeable especially when shes guilty for her actions
6. Its definitely seasmoke and theyre teasing adam being the rider.
Bahahaha...we all just want the dog to be happy, eh.
That Otto scene...write it on my tombstone. Perfection.
Criston is...a DOPE with a capital D.
Much better episode than the last one.
I think so, too. I liked Episode 1 but there were moments in this one where I was GIDDY watching the conversations between characters happen. I mean that's the backbone of a TV show...great acting and good writing.
They did a fantastic job of making everyone hate Criston even more than we already do.
That NASTY AZZ HOE!
Down with Criston FOREVER
Sorry, but I refuse to allow anyone to blame Christon Coles lack of humanity, integrity and honesty. On his fling with a minor child. Which was definitely against his oath and statutory r@pe. Even Daemon referred to her being A CHILD THAT HE SPARED. Rhaenera calls herself A Child. And Alicent feels guilt, not merely because she was sleeping with Cole that night. But because Cole should have been Heleanas sworn protector EVERY NIGHT, the moment she was crowned. But Alicent is a classic narcissist. She can't see beyond her own image, desire, ideas about the world. She couldn't comfort Aegon, because she's not capable of those feelings about other people.
Listen, I'm not blaming it all on Rhaenyra. Obvioulsy like 98% of this is on Criston himself.
However, if we're going to try and be serious about this discussion, then in a modern lens I would say Rhaenyra herself sexually assault Criston Cole. He was an employee of hers and she coerced him into bed. He didn't want to do it, yet what choice does he have? He's her sworn protector and his oaths say to obey her. Does Rhaenyra get any backlash for that? Again: I blame Criston almost entirely, but Rhaenyra is not blameless in how Criston's feelings started to turn into what he is now.
Alicent just sucks and now her kids suck because of her. Haha.
Does anyone know what chapter this episode is in the book?
Dying of the dragons - red dragon and the gold
Haven’t changed yet because they already had the armor and in the show it’s like a couple weeks into the war
And I thought about that, but even like the CLOAK could've been a different color. Literally anything to distinguish them differently.
@@TheBattProductions I definitely agree something should have been changed. But, Rhaenyra just lost her dad, found out her family stole her thrown, then immediately killed her son. A lot has gone on in just a few days time. Last thing they were thinking of, would be Arryk trying to sneak in to kill her by hisself.
I’m probably repeating myself, but the excellence of the acting cannot be overstated. Tom Glynn Carney is terrific, but I’m giving a shout out to Rhys Ifans. Some great Otto scenes. Sara Hess can write some great stuff but she hates Daemon. He gets like what, 5 min of screen time? In Ep 6 of last year the Laena Daemon stuff got totally sidelined. Great scene though.
Rhaenyra never really trusted him but begged him to marry her anyway? He could have taken that throne away from her anytime. He could have gone back to Pentos. Instead he kills a man so Laenor can escape. She’s fine when his dirty work benefits her. She sends away her biggest ally. I hope she gets smarter. Stupid move
It absolutely CANNOT be overstated. Good writing and good acting are the backbone of this show and holy f*** was it so good! I MEAN THIS HAS BEEN AMAZING.
Rhaenyra uses Daemon, too. That's an important note. He helps legitimize her claim and obviously he's a great warrior. No doubt they mutually benefit from that relationship.
It’s good to see people excited. I’m so glad you liked it. Some are complaining it’s too slow, I love this kind of stuff. I know I’m biased lol. But I really am enjoying the Greens much more this season.
I wonder if it finally dawned on Otto that all his plotting was a giant mistake and now it's too late.
I think that's exactly what he was thinking when the ratcatcher hanging happened. He went "wow, how could I Have been such a fool"
@@TheBattProductions Like, he had Daemon pegged from day one but literally everything else is his fault either directly or indirectly. He should have realized that his grandson really wasn't a good candidate for the throne not even as a figurehead.
@@katherinealvarez9216 he did and Daemon also had him pegged. Too bad they couldn’t work together somehow.
good episode but I still feel we need more dragons being introduced asap, its the dance of the dragons and we only got like 3-4 dragons out of the 20 or so that are alive at this time.
Thankfully, I think Episode 3 is going to be some Moondancer action for us all. You'll be fed!
Ser Erryk won and killed himself because of the shame he brought to himself and Rhaenyra.
I feel like as the last 5 episodes they put the Valyreons as back seat background characters they feel so irrelevant the writers need to implement them more from here on . Give them more screen time .
They have for sure, but I think what you're seeing is them quickly bringing the Velaryons back with Baela and Moondancer soon, and the Hulls getting screentime. Seasmoke needs a rider..... :-)

Fabien has been INCREDIBLE as Criston Cole...he's really nailing the whole "I'm honorable and better than you" while simultaneously being an idiot loser of a Kingsguard, hah. It's going to get worse which is fun, eh!?

AMANDA! You charmer, you.
Alicent is clearly a giant wench who doesn't love her children. She loves Cole's peen & self-righteousness and that's *it*
The whole twin thing meant nothing. Zero character development so why would anyone care? Had they allowed us to get to know the characters and their relationships, it would have been more impactful. Sometime I find this show to be shallow and rushed.
I cared because I knew enough that they were brothers bound by blood who hated being apart, but killed each other for honor. Mattered to me at least!
