      Yes!! There’s always been something off-centre about Daemon that didn’t really feel like - the go-to interpretation - jealousy of his brother’s crown. I feel like they just unlocked the secret to Daemon’s character. 🎉

      I agree!! I figured that Emma’s migraines also have a lot to do with their schedule… in a recent HOTD premiere interview they mentioned being “quite sickly” and having lots of migraines. As a person who has frequent sinus headaches that can be hard to work through, I can’t imagine doing press work with a migraine!

    the levels of profoundness that Emma posseses is nothing I've ever seen, such an example of a person, to just take in all they have to say in hopes of learning and emulating just a fragment of them and their expression and regard for life and situations, how they percieve the characters and their own work, so incredible to see and listen to, they leave me speechelss for however long they are on my screen, truly wish to have a conversation with them, feel I'd learn fundamental things without even realizing it...

    Seeing her speak helps me understand why I find her such a great actress. She seems to reflect so deeply on each scene and interaction.
    Part of what makes the show so great is that there is so much being said while remaining unsaid, recognized only through the expression on each persons face or the physical gestures they make. It's a joy watching all the great actors on this show ply their craft.

    Remarkable actress. Every heavy emotional scene she completely knocks it out of the park. She also has a very wandering of empathy and can easily pick out what and why other characters feel in the moment.

    Emma D'arcy ability to unravel the emotions in the scenes, and how they work is something else. The comment about Daemon's giving the news about Lucerys death, like a crone coming into the room is perfect. And the whole ''symphony'' as the whole council walks between, is so right. As pointed out in the comments already, really wanted to see Emma writing or as a Director of something.

      The way they analyse the bedside scene also shows a wonderful understanding of the nuance of emotion. The way they go about explaining it all is about as eloquent and thoughtful as any film critique you're ever going to hear. Almost makes me embarrassed at how limited my own observations/empathy is by comparison!

    You can tell Emma reads into the nuances of each of their scenes to ensure real depth. They’re just so insightful being able to explain for everyone else in the scene because they see it as a whole. Ahhhhh I cannot stop singing them praises ❤

      When they said the bit about Rhaenyra being braver, I did think that Viserys never held back his love for his daughter privately and publicly in the end, but for Daemon, he is still hurting and knows Viserys is one of the only people who cares from him. Daemon's loss does rival hers.

      @@derek96720 It seems to me that the fact that Emma D'Arcy came out as non-binary in their professional/public life means that THEY care, and that should be reason enough for the rest of us to show them the courtesy of using their desired pronouns. The effort required of us is minimal.
      It stands to reason that people complimenting D'Arcy's work probably wouldn't want to disrespect them by intentionally misgendering them - more likely they are simply unaware that D'Arcy is non-binary. @nikkydalby7126 is only offering the correct term, not judging or insulting the person who used the wrong one. Why does this bother you?

      @@tatra-77 there is no such thing as non-binary. I'm sorry but there isn't. We have a word for women who don't fit into the stereotypical behaviors and fashions typically associated with women, and they're tomboys. But at the end of the day they're still women.
      Moreover, pronouns are a tool to refer to other people. They aren't a title or a term of direct address. Trying to dictate how other people refer to you when you aren't even present is pure egocentrism.

      From a strictly grammatical perspective, the pronoun "they" does correctly apply to an individual (ex. When you get to the station, ask the person at the ticket booth if *they* can point you in the right direction.). From a gender theory perspective, Emma D'Arcy has come out publicly as non-binary, which means using they/them pronouns to describe them shows base-level respect for their humanity. Why does this bother you?

    She must come from stage acting. She doesn’t speak like any movie or tv actor. She talks like an artist. I really appreciate the acting that’s portrayed in House of the Dragon . They all seem very committed their roles.

    Its so funny how we've heard the stories about how casting was so amazed by Emma Darcy and knew they would be Rhaenyra.
    Can you actually imagine discovering Emma for this role though? Like WOW they struck gold.
    I feel like Emma has the heart and the brain of this show all within them.
    Its genuinely fantastic that they're the main character.

    Wow. Emma is a big brain. This was incredible to listen to. They're such a deep and thoughtful person, with amazing and intelligent ideas and observations. The more I see of them the more of a fan I am. This was wonderful to watch and I could listen to them talk all day.

    The scene between Rhaenyra, Alicent and Viserys after Aemond lost his eye is easily one of the best I've seen in all of TV and Film. What's also striking in this break down by Emma is that Emma clearly shares the characteristic intelligence that we see in Rhaenyra.

    Emma has been such a delicious surprise in their character and then stepping out to their true self to explain how the scenes work. They seem so generous to the cast members. I have truly grown to like their character as they were flung into this situation because they were not a son.

    I love this actress, Emma D'Arcy. It has incredible emotional intensity. It reminds me of these actresses who perceive an emotional intelligence rarely seen in them. I remember a lot of Ingrid Berdman. I am totally impressed with her insight into the scenes, the sensitivity with which she processes that internal struggle of the HOTD characters. If given the opportunity and the industry begins to value acting quality, Emma can become one of the best actresses ever.
