The ships, the weapons, the mythic struggles in deep space! All of that combined with some fairly decent storytelling, it’s a literal blast! I still play the Discovery mod in Singleplayer, to this day.

I've been playing Crossfire for a while now, Freelancer is such an amazing game, I can't believe those fuckwits at microsoft scrapped this wonderful project. Star Citizen will never be the new Freelancer, it is tainted by all this "donate for features" bullshit, I'll just stick to the true Freelancer feeling with mods forever I guess. Star Citizen is just not worth it right now, as much as I am praying for it to be more of what I loved about this game.
Closest we'll ever get is Star Citizen. Microsoft had the perfect opportunity to try quickly slipping in either remaster Freelancer or work on Freelancer 2, back when Star Citizen and Elite:Dangerous were announced.

Well if you are interested there is a mod that is keeping this game alive. The Discovery mod takes place after the events of the game with new systems, factions and ships (big and small)
@@LyonHall1 Yes, thank you. I play disco. since 2015. =) I just couldn't launch original freelancer. But already resolve this problem. And even complete the plot ^^
I know every dialog of this hahahah played the missions more than 10 times when i was kid hahah its loveeeeeeeee. I had eagle and nomad weapons during the whole mission, killing NPCs in single click.
What are some space opera TV shows with a similar vibe? Freelancer has this unique rugged / realistic world feel that's not afraid of grandeur, and cyberpunk.
There is no Freelancer 2 unfortunately. Microsoft still own the rights for it, and Digital Anvil doest exist anymore. And Chris Roberts is working on Star Citizen.
Wow... this brought back memories. I loved this game. Shame they didnt put out a sequel. Do you have any recommendations for a good Freelancer style game that could fill the gap?
Eu tenho esse jogo!! Para muitos é desconhecido!! Mas é um dos melhores jogos de Naves e batalhas espaciais que já vi na minha vida!!! Põe e O EVE no chinelo!!! Eu tenho orgulha de dizer EU TENHO O JOGO FREELANCER!! 😎👍🏽
I was about to ask just that. I only got the Dagger after finishing the game but dropped it fast for Falcon, Eagle and later for Titan and Sabre. But the Dagger looks cool AF
Why do they have to go through those docking rings to land on a planet? I understand the gameplay reason (have something the "dock" command can work with), but what is the in-universe reason?
Lore-wise, there is really no much to support it, it offers a controlled way to small ships to entry and exit the planet. And is also a place for ships that are too big to entry to dock and transfer cargo/personnel from and to the planet.
It was a great game. I've played all the way even after the game's story ended; finding every nook and cranny of the Sirius system. The only problem is the story. It's an okay story - *ALIENS!!* Oooh. - but since Freelancer is technically a sequel to Starlancer, they're sitting on the most untapped potential villains in the game's rich lore: The Coalition. I mean, you're descended from refugees of the Solar Wars who for centuries are building and expanding a new civilisation on a Sirius system. There's no way the Coalition aren't doing the same from SOL and planning to conquer your system. That's your story there. Why isn't Chris Roberts writing that? Btw, the aliens story in Freelancer is really just a retread of the first Privateer story.
Well, there are two things: two different intro movies. Official movie part is expanded in Crossfire mod (with Coalition in Sol etc.), but true intro (directors cut) is ending with Nomad superweapon destroying Sol, so Coalition with it. In Discovery mod there is a link with Coalition remnant from Hispania sleeper ship, but nothing more.
The issue of the Coalition, Dom Kavash and the Nomads was explored in the Crossfire Mod for this game. It's a very good mod, new ships, new system, more story, it's just much much richer. You really should try it.
Es normal, corto la parte que te dejan libre luego de una misión de historia, hasta que subo al siguiente nivel y arranca la siguiente misión de historia.

Thanks for putting this up. I loved this game back in the day and I think it still holds up as a very good game today.
It does, the only bad thing is the 4:3 resolution.

If you look closely - you'll notice a lot of ships were almost directly copied into Eve-online :)

My congratulations for this video shivanSpS ! And congratulations to Microsoft for this game. Much better than Windows 10 !
Story line is awesome. Hope everspace 2 is the perfect hybrid.

Roberts did write the story and make the game, but couldnt finish it (like star citizen) so the publisher took the game out of his hands to finish it
I wanna fly the sleeper ship idk why though
A los 33:32 hay un salto en el video.
