Its an amazing system! It can be helpful to grow nepenthes until they get bigger, those colors on the pinguiculas are absolutely amazing, and what surprised me the most was the insane growing of the spagnum!
This is awesome! I live in NC, which is perfect for the natives like Sarracenia and Dionea, but not so good for pinguicula, Nepenthese, and some Drosera. I've been wanting to grow some for a while, and this is the perfect thing for me since I have no access to a South facing window! Thanks so much for this video!
I think I will try one of these, as I really want to try Nepenthes and don’t have a south facing window. Thank you Remy, for all the great videos you put out!
That's a good idea though Remy ;) I am also going to test this is that sphagnum moss grows great. I have a Hydroponics from the ikea this one is without a pump but I'm sure that will work too.
Hey I saw your great video and wanted to mention that some pinguicula go dormant and don’t grow that big in between those stages and try not to over water them at this point as they wil die from root rot For the light to pings love light the more they get the more they color
These things systems are awful and overpriced honestly. They are effectively bubble buckets, that choose to use the cheapest fountain pump they could find as a form of aeration instead of just using a air pump. Things might fair ok for carnivorous plants. But for what they were designed for (kitchen herbs) they are absolutely junk. Not enough reservoir space to support that many herbs, and they are too closely packed. The light PPF/PPFD and spectrum is also really really bad.
I can only speak for carnivorous plants, but light and water movement is great. Even the light, as you see, is good because of the pinguicula leaves colour. I actually have no bad things to say about it, even the fact it's automatically set for 16 hours of light is great when others are set to 12 hours. For the rest, I can't say because there is no info about the PPF, so I guess you are talking about all these systems versus this one?
@@WindowsillNepenthes Talking about most systems like it (there all pretty much the same). Ones i have had brought into the hydro store, we tested with a PAR meter and spectrometer. They all turned out to be pretty bad.

Totally agree! The sphagnum moss is impressive, I added more to get a full carpet of moss with drosera and ping on it. :)
You've inspired me... Now I'm going to fill my aerogarden with carnivorous plants! I don't know why I haven't thought of that! Great video
I mainly grow fly traps, but watching your videos gives me so much ambition for trying with other plants!
For sure, try something low maintenance. 😉

That's super effective for Drosera and Pinguicula ;)

Sounds great! Let me know how yours grows. :)

Yes, I guess Mexican ping won't produce succulent leaves but I don't know if they need it. We will see :)
@@WindowsillNepenthes ping Cyclosecta goes dormant in the winter
Super 👍👍👍
It can be good for root cuttings
I didn't think about that! Great idea 💡👍
Was the ampullaria in highland conditions? Was it doing okay with the temps? What are your temps?
It was in my house during summer so intermediate conditions. ;)
In the background next to the truncata I see a plant with deformed pitchers. What is it and is it okay?
Good catch! It's spectabilis x veitchii that is recovering from summer heat. ;)
