I heard this song when I was 8 years old. My dad had told me to leave his record albums alone, so I would wait till he went to work and then I would listen to his records. One day as I was going through his albums I came across his Chuck Berry albums and put one on to play. I listened to Maybellen, Johnny B Good, and couldn’t help myself when I saw one called My Ding-a-Ling. I have no idea how many times I played that song, but I do know I was smiling the whole time. I still have my dads record albums and still have a giggle when I play My Ding-a-Ling. I’m in my 50’s now and that song still makes me smile.
I laugh at my mom , she is 89 years old & when I'm playing music she will ask "Do you have that ding a ling song??" I play it fof her & she just laughs 😂😂😂
My sister and I were pretty young when this came out! Of course mom wouldn’t let us listen but we would when she wasn’t around and we would laugh and laugh!!! 😂 😆 😝
"Johnny B. Goode" - Chuck Berry is 🔥 fire!! You're gonna wanna jam to it for sure, Jay!! Super famous song. Remember "Marty McFly" singing it in Back to The Future? ✌😍
I've been around long enough to know that this man, Chuck Berry, was at one point pretty much tbe King of Rock and Roll for my money. One amazing entertainer throughout his career. So many hits to choose from but check out Maybellene a cant miss rocker.
By the time that this was recorded. Chuck had been performing on stage for around 20 years. A seasoned veteran. He was a major influence for The Beatles. There is a video of John performing, "Johnny B. Goode", with Chuck. ✌
My gran bought the record when it came out in 1974. I was 4 years old. I used to sing along and laugh along with everyone else because in my 4 year old innocence I thought he was singing about a bell lol 😆 This really took me back to my childhood. It made me laugh and I definitely sang along with it. The neighbours must be thinking someone's strangling a cat 🤣 its 11.15pm in Scotland
OMG!!! I remember this song as a young girl and thought is was so naughty LOL Then you hear the lyrics of today's music and you think that was an innocent funny song. Miss those days!
My sweet Papa, who we lost back in Aug, always got a kick out of this silly little song. 😄 Thank you for bringing such a wonderful, happy memory back for me.😊 Merry Christmas!❤
Love you channel, I'm from St . Louis, MO. Where Mr.Berry is from, as a matter of fact in 86ish, I saw in concert, Chuck, MS Etta James, Eric Clapton, and many many more when they filmed a concert documentary (Hail Hail Rock n, Roll) actually still available and I saw myself and my girlfriend /wife of 22yrs. Chuck Berry is a Rock Icon awesome guitar player. PEACE HIPPIE JOE
O M G !!! This took my back. I was in high school when this song was on the radio. Quite a racy number for that time with all the inuendo. Fun. Thanks J.
I knew you would love this song but I have never seen this video before and I love it lol. Yes I was singing along and I remembered most of the words which has amazed me to be honest. Your reactions were all anyone could ask for sweetheart, you got right into the spirit of Chuck Berry and his song, wasn't he marvellous, the type of entertainer that we dont see anymore sadly. Innuendo is a type of comedy that I enjoy and to have it in a song has always thrilled me, when she first heard this my Mum cried with laughter and never objected to us hearing it as we older ones could see one side of it while the little ones thought just of silver bells bless them. I haven't stopped grinning yet lol. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Healthy Happy and Prosperous New Year. God bless you all love hugs and peace to everyone Mary-Ellen UK
I remember this coming out and being banned from listening to it. I did manage to hear it and learnt the words pretty quick. As a 10 year old it was just a funny song that became even funnier when my parents said it was rude.
I did not know this either, funny. Simpler times when innuendo got by as comedy. Doesn't make me laugh out loud, but it's really amusing to see what flew in the day.
Chuck is one of my inspirations in music. Without him, there would've been no Beatles, Nirvana or Stones. That man influenced ever rocker that's ever lived. RIP, Chuck.
I just wanted to comment before to many do and you can't see mine... Enjoy the channel... Didn't think watching someone's first reaction to my youth music would be entertaining... i would suggest some Duran Duran if you haven't already...(im going back to older vids)... good job Bro
The 70s were a magical time. (I see a few comments bemoaning that this was Mr. Berry's only #1 hit, but a cut of Johnny B. Goode is on a golden record aboard a spacecraft traveling tens of thousands of miles per hour out of the solar system. I'd take that honor over terrestrial fame any day.)
Chuck is a true music legand! An amazing singer and performer, you gotta do some more of his stuff my favorite is Memphis Tennessee it really good and try to do live performances so you can see him move...♡
This performance was in England, I think. My mom had this record and I used to crack up listening to it. Genius how he got them all to participate boldly by the end.
I have seen Elvis, The Roling stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who and so many others but the most fun I ever had was Chuck Berry in St Louis. A close second was Muddy waters.
My dad was a huge Chuck Berry fan from way back. Being also a fan of Moms Mabley and Redd Foxx; when he discovered that this song playing on the radio was Chuck Berry, it was like the proverbial icing on the cake.
Chuck is a legend! I remember when this song came out. A fun song and your reaction is hysterical!!! I still have this on a 45. Lol. I was singing along as i always do when i hear this song!
the version which topped the charts was recorded live during the Lanchester Arts Festival at the Locarno ballroom in Coventry, England, on 3 February 1972 .. but included on a live album with London in the title ..and he mentioned London in the clip..just to add to the confusion
Me and my friends used to sing the hell out of this song! One of the funniest songs ever...and very different than the usual Chuck Berry rock songs (and he was one of the greatest and most influential songwriters ever). This man was a musical genius! He always put on a great show too. I was lucky enough to see him live a couple of times.
When this song first came out, I was in high school. We had a jukebox in the cafeteria. This song was played for the entire lunch period with everybody joining in. Needless to say, the jukebox didn't stay in the cafeteria for very long.
How this man emanated a huge dose of positive energy is amazing. I suffer from severe depression and I feel much better after watching this movie Sorry for my English, but I'm from Poland
When he was young Chuck also had a dream of being a stand up comedian, so this song is the perfect mix.
Chuck berry is a legend
I love Chuck Berry. We've had a good singalong to this many times 😂
Chuck Berry - “No Particular Place to Go”. My personal favorite. 💜
That baseline!
The naughty side of Chuck Berry, and he had a lot of naughty sides lol.

Me too! I remember it playing on the radio, I started singing along, and my mum said don't sing that, but wouldn't tell me why!
1972 at school in Ireland I sang this at the Christmas concert and was hauled of stage by the nuns. I was 12.
I used to work concert security in St. Louis. The first concert I worked was Paul McCartney. Chuck came backstage to say hi. He was an amazing man.
Did you get to meet Paul?
Merry Xmas to you, your family, and all the subscribers here!
"Is he good?" This one of the creators of Rock and Roll. This is when he was older. I never heard this before, thank you. It made me smile.
"Johnny B. Goode" - Chuck Berry
is 🔥 fire!! You're gonna wanna jam to it for sure, Jay!! Super famous song.

He was one of a kind! A true ledgend, RIP Chuck
It's taken me a while to get back to your reactions. I'm so glad that I've gotten back to it!
Chuck Berry, the legend.
Jovaughn, the legend 👌👍♥️😘
My parents let me listen to this as a kid but I thought it was about a bell lol
That's so cute
It was, but the message got twisted over time.
Hahaha! What a character! He was just loving this ! 🤦🏻♀️
It's hard to believe that this was his only number one record.
By the time that this was recorded. Chuck had been performing on stage for around 20 years. A seasoned veteran. He was a major influence for The Beatles. There is a video of John performing, "Johnny B. Goode", with Chuck. ✌

Chuck Berry was a very funny man, you should watch some of his interviews on late night .
lol...next you should listen to Strokin by Clarence Carter
I love that song
i asked for this AWHILE ago lol
Lol...yep CC has them ALL beat !!!
OMG!!! I remember this song as a young girl and thought is was so naughty LOL Then you hear the lyrics of today's music and you think that was an innocent funny song. Miss those days!
Chuck was a character! Loved the look back on him and yes I was singing along, 😆😆😆
"The kid next door came over, was pulling on my string...I told him go play with your own ding-a-ling!"
Hated this song until I saw the video - OMG what a legend!!!!
RIP Chuck baby xx
BEST EVER!!!! Chuck Berry is the real OG, the GOAT!!! Rock n Roll wouldn’t be without this man ❤️
My sweet Papa, who we lost back in Aug, always got a kick out of this silly little song. 😄 Thank you for bringing such a wonderful, happy memory back for me.😊 Merry Christmas!❤
A guy in our senior class, sang this at our prom. Now, every 5 years, at our class reunion, he sings it. It's awesome.😊

Saw Chuck at Knebworth in early 80s, the man rocks!
Chuck berry was an insanely good guitarist.
I saw him live in London in late 70's.
He was a great day character. ☺👍
I remember as a kid we used to go around singing this 😁
So damn hilarious. Chuck Berry was a consummate entertainer as well as a rock legend.
I sang this once at Karaoke. The DJ called me the bravest guy he had ever seen.
I was a teenager when this came out. I went straight to the five and dime and got the record. It was a big hit.
A Rock’n’roll Roll Legend. So many great Songs. And a big Comeback with My Ding.....A Hero for Music!
My brother and I loved this when we were little. We would laugh our butts off!
Im so glad you did this ive been waiting for someone to do it
I forgot about this song. Used to hear it on Sundays on the Dr. Demento show!
When this song came out, I was already a young adult. We fell out laughing and loved it ever since then!👍🏾👵🏿😁!
I knew you would love this song but I have never seen this video before and I love it lol. Yes I was singing along and I remembered most of the words which has amazed me to be honest. I have this on my play list, fun times at parties when come on lol
I remember this coming out and being banned from listening to it. I did manage to hear it and learnt the words pretty quick. As a 10 year old it was just a funny song that became even funnier when my parents said it was rude.
Great song, but the sad truth is that this was the only number one song he ever had. So many early R&R classics, but none made number one.
Pretty sure Johnny B. Goode was a number 1 hit
@@someoneelse361 no , it never actually reached number one
@@mikeyates7931 Oh ok. That's surprising, honestly.
@@someoneelse361 I agree
OMG! I love this song! Have for alot of years. So happy You've discovered this.
This used to be on the jukebox at our favorite bar. Played it all the time.
Oh don't worry - some of us were already singing along with it before you asked .... heh heh heh
I did not know this either, funny. Simpler times when innuendo got by as comedy. Doesn't make me laugh out loud, but it's really amusing to see what flew in the day.
I was 4! When this song came out! Chuck was funny as hell. And one of a kind. 🤣😂🤣
You got to love Chuck Berry :)
We heard this song on a Chuck Berry's album we had. We were in elementary school & thought it was funny.
Chuck is one of my inspirations in music. Without him, there would've been no Beatles, Nirvana or Stones. That man influenced ever rocker that's ever lived. RIP, Chuck.

I've loved this song since I heard it as a little girl. Love me some Chuck.
This former #1 hit was banned on certain radio stations because of the subject matter! Censorship was very strict during this era.
Saw him in 83 with Three Dog Night. He was awesome!
He is GREAT!!!! Saw him live about 20 years ago and he just...rocked!!✌❤🎶😁
i've known this song for so many decades & never knew it was Chuck Berry. oh, man. this song is so darn silly. i love it!
I've been once to a Chuck Berry concert ... that was a lot of fun! :) Great entertainer!
He knows it's not about a bell, right? Oh, Jay.🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was his biggest hit and was Number 1 in both the U.S.A. and the UK, among other places.
I haven't started it yet but just wanted to say this is my go-to mood brightener when I need one.
I haven't heard this song in years. Such fun! Thanks for reacting.
Saw him here in the UK back in the 80s he was brilliant
Chuck is a true music legand! An amazing singer and performer, you gotta do some more of his stuff my favorite is Memphis Tennessee it really good and try to do live performances so you can see him move...♡
Watching a master performer work a crowd.
This performance was in England, I think. My mom had this record and I used to crack up listening to it. Genius how he got them all to participate boldly by the end.
When I was a teen in the late 80s I bought his cd called the great 28 and that’s what sold me on this legend!
I have seen Elvis, The Roling stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who and so many others but the most fun I ever had was Chuck Berry in St Louis. A close second was Muddy waters.
Another Chuck Berry 70s hit you should react to is the 1972 reissuance of Reelin and a Rockin.
This was featured on an album called Dumb Ditties. Childhood memories from the mid 70s
I play this song have not played it in years!!! :) Lets not forget checks "Johnny B good" Chuck can rock :)
My dad was a huge Chuck Berry fan from way back. Being also a fan of Moms Mabley and Redd Foxx; when he discovered that this song playing on the radio was Chuck Berry, it was like the proverbial icing on the cake.
He was a great performer and a wonderful dancer too!!!
Funny/Joke songs like this were popular around this time. Check out "the Streak" by Ray Stevens. Shocked my parents. LMAO
Four people invented Rock and Roll.
Elvis Presley
Jerry Lee Lewis
Little Richard and
The great Chuck Berry!! 🎶🎼❤️
You make me smile thank you!
Chuck is a legend! I remember when this song came out. A fun song and your reaction is hysterical!!! I still have this on a 45. Lol. I was singing along as i always do when i hear this song!

I saw chuck berry in concert. He was 60 and still put a show on
Me and my brothers and sisters used to run around the house signing it
The great Chuck Berry. This song was banned on some radio stations in the uk 🇬🇧
When this song first came out, I was in high school. We had a jukebox in the cafeteria. This song was played for the entire lunch period with everybody joining in. Needless to say, the jukebox didn't stay in the cafeteria for very long.
This is a full participation song. After the song went around, EVERYBODY knew the words and sang along. Vigorously. LOL
This song fully deserved to be number one
This song was number 1 the day I was born!!
Legendary Man ♥️ I used to get in so much trouble singing the song when I was little 😆 Oh yes 👍 I was signing 😝
he is one of the kings of rock n roll
I listen to this song over and over day after day. Till my sister broke the record on the wall. Lol best childhood song ever
He is a legend and this song is a classic!
Hi Jay, so glad you did this one, you definitely need to do more Chuck from this live session 👍
How this man emanated a huge dose of positive energy is amazing. I suffer from severe depression and I feel much better after watching this movie
Sorry for my English, but I'm from Poland
One of my childhood favorites...glad to see you enjoyed it so much!!
