Man, that last round would have given me so much anxiety regardless of which side I was on. Palp looked like it had stabilised at 29. And then to find out if he'd taken initiative and drawn two instead of sacrificing Vader and drawing one he would have started the round with Overwhelming Barrage. Great game.
Man matt kinda misplayed that at around 39:45 . If he was going to use palpatine's ability to sac bridger, he could have killed han (leader) and sac'd bridger to deal 1 to the 5 damage Unit Han and he'd have saved 6 damage on vader.
That isn't the only misplay he made, he basically gifted game 2 to his opponent ahah Let's say that there was emotion in play and he couldn't think straight
unless i am mistaken, starting from the R6 turn, the han player fails to destroy the extra resource from han's attack two turns in a row. Kind of a big deal.
There was a couple times in this match that a resource should have been defeated and was not. Unfortunately, this was something missed by the players and judge.
The DJ/Tech combo or even DJ by himself could certainly help in these match-ups. Han Solo, Reluctant Hero and Plo Kloon (new version) are both great at turning the board around in Han's favor. This deck also has Cunning for 4 resources, which goes an extremely long way in either trying to catch back up or putting some very big pressure on your opponent. My personal experience with Han Yellow is bare minimal. So I don't have a lot of in-depth insight beyond this.
Matt been doing to much missplays on his attack decisions , u gotta kill everything on the board when you are at 1 hp not swing 4 into bass and keep a unit alive for the next phase
Just found your channel and watched your videos. Great stuff, keep it up! One suggestion though: for games that don't have a game 3 (aggro focused games), you might want to add "spoiler" space at the end of the video. Basically, when I see a 20 minute video, you can basically guess who wins by whomever takes game 1. Once the second game ends, put your outro info up, then leave end with a black screen and "spoiler" space on-screen. Adding another game worth of "spoiler space" time at the end of the video would keep things a mystery. I've seen similar things in Best-of-5 game series after a 3-0 sweep. Up to you though, regardless, loving what you're doing.
The only thing I can think of is because Matt wanted to answer the Tech as quickly as possible. He had to take two actions to answer the Tech, play Command and then play Vader to ambush Tech, or play Command and then attack and defeat Tech with Palpatine. Had he attacked with Devastator first, it would have been three actions before he could defeat the Tech.
It would take two attacks to kill that bodhi, super laser and the other 2/3 can't remember his name, so sacrificed the super laser to draw a card and do damage, which was a better outcome because he replaces super laser with the drawn card and the bodhi trades with the other card.
ian can´t use new adventure in Maul cuz the card said that u give back a card that cost 6 or less and replay it, so that game must have a diferent result if they notice that
He didn't bounce Maul. He bounced Cantina Bouncer and played it again which bounced Maul. They just didn't go through the motions since Matt had already claimed
There are always math errors in these videos and its really annoying to see that there are no judges watching the game that could help. When playing for such a big prize, there should always be a judge watching semi finals, quarter finals and finals.
Hi there! When you say math errors, did I make an error in damage count on screen? I try to be extremely careful when editing and double check, but I can certainly overlook things at times.
@@NextGenGamingSC not at all, it's the math errors that the players make. I feel there should be a judge at the tournament to help them do math/correct their math. Your vids are great how they are, keep doing what you're doing!
I'm still here! After the Baltimore series wrapped up, I did not have any more tournament footage to use and was not able to attend SCG CON Tampa. Hey Joshua, thank you so much! That means a lot.
the commentary voice, the animations, card images on the side....really slick work, the way you do your videos is on point

I completely agree. This was an extremely tight match. Matt definitely needed the initiative for the final round!
Very high quality coverage. Great video!

Always down for more Han Solo gameplay.
Gotta love Han!
Flipping the overwhelming barrage as the NEXT CARD is so rough 😭
Absolutely. That could have very well brought Matt to victory.
@@NextGenGamingSC it just be like dat sometimes. That's the RNG we play with

So what does this han deck do against han green and other decks that flood the board and outpace it

You definitely have a point. In that spot, you have to be laser focused on any threat the opponent has.
Great video!
Thank you!
Why would you risk the single card draw and kill Vader
Rather than claim initiative and hope for the two cards to bring an answer?
Genuinely confused
What a match !

I was thinking since he couldn’t kill tech he was worried about Han unit killing Palpatine so wanted the 2 xp tokens
When did this final took place ?
@@nikosnikosnikosss End of July at SCG CON Baltimore.
Han Yellow is so fucking helmet how is that fun, literally no interactions
why didn’t palp just attack with superlaser tech into bohdi instead of using resource for palps ability? 🙉 that’s misplay or I’m missing something ?
Drawing a card from palp ability is very powerful. Probably correct to do so most of the time.
It would take two attacks to kill that bodhi, super laser and the other 2/3 can't remember his name, so sacrificed the super laser to draw a card and do damage, which was a better outcome because he replaces super laser with the drawn card and the bodhi trades with the other card.

afaik it was used on his cantina bouncer to bounce maul
Why didn't he attack with the Cantina Bouncer after doing that ? He could have ended the game there right ?
He would’ve had it if command wasn’t “non unique” strike true
The 'non-unique' restriction on Command is brutal sometimes.
