      Robert Haven I have a question, Which fabric is the best for beginners? I´m still trying to start but I still don´t understand which fabric I can or I need to use for this technique. Which one do you recommend? Thank you very much for the information.

      @tambourbeader  8 років тому +1

      silk organza if the best fabric for learning. It is tough but sheer and is dimensionaly pretty stable

    I can't wait to buy your book! This exactly what I've been trying to teach myself. What kind of thread are you using?

    • @tambourbeader
      @tambourbeader  8 років тому

      For surface embroidery I use a single strand of embroidery floss. IT can be cotton or rayon. Machine embroidery threads also work just as well

    • @tambourbeader
      @tambourbeader  8 років тому

      The thread is just a single strand of embroidery floss. Please be aware that the book does not cover the instruction to learn the technique only what you can do with it after you learn it. The techniques is best learned by attending a class.

    tambour stitch needle size

    • @tambourbeader
      @tambourbeader  7 років тому

      I use the #90 hook for almost all my work . The size of the hook is determined by the the thickness of the thread

    • @Olembina
      @Olembina 7 років тому

      Robert Haven, you are looking at the right side by stitching with satin stitch? Not the same as in case of stitching with beads?

  • @phichultes1
    @phichultes1 7 років тому

    At 0:45 I saw a very long satin stitch flower. How did you embroidery it with tambour hook?

    • @castoputa
      @castoputa 7 років тому

    What kind thread are you using

    • @tambourbeader
      @tambourbeader  7 років тому +1

      I use basic machine sewing thread....what ever is on sale... to apply beads and sequins. For surface embroidery I like to use either cotton floss or rayon thread.

  • @1991armi
    @1991armi 7 років тому

    What holds the thread in place?

    • @tambourbeader
      @tambourbeader  7 років тому +1

      the stitches are made through the fabric a tight beginning and ending stitch hold everything in place

  • @lourdesbravo8962
    @lourdesbravo8962 5 років тому

    Where can buy the tread? Please

    • @tambourbeader
      @tambourbeader  5 років тому +1

      I use basic machine sewing thread ...nothing special about the thread at all

  • @lindamoutou3399
    @lindamoutou3399 Рік тому

    Where is the thread

    • @tambourbeader
      @tambourbeader  Рік тому

      The thread is on a spool off to the side of the frame. It comes to the fabric from underneath the frame ...the back side of the design. When doing thread embroidery the front of the design is face up , when adding beads or sequins the frame is turned over and you are working from the back.
