I knew it! I’m not going mad. When I was a kid playing Gen 1, I thought it would be funny to throw a Pokeball at Mewtwo but was surprised that it missed. Then as time went on, I never heard of it again and thought I made it up 😂
About Arcanine, it's actually pretty easy to notice it's black belly. In the anime there have been multiple shots of Arcanine leaping or charging, so you could easily see it's black belly. The rest however are defiantly hard to notice though.
The Ultra Ball(Hyper Ball in Japan, thus the yellow H) was simply inconsistent. The earliest depiction would technically be the TCG one from "Rocket's Sneak Attack", drawn by Ken Sugimori. This would also be the design in Pokemon Pinball(which had an S on the Great Ball, aka the Super Ball). Then you would get the Stadium 2 one which removed that extra letter. This is likely because of the fact that developing the games with localization in mind was now a priority. However the BIG H stayed until Ruby and Sapphire when they temporarily changed the design again, but apparently didn't like the result, switching it back.
4:53 in an anime episode where ash and Gary race with arcanine and bayleaf on a skate and where ash recieved phanpy egg we see arcanines belly and it's not black I'm pretty sure Hoops
The original Ultra Ball had a H on it because its know as the Hyper Ball in Japan, When the games became popular overseas they removed the H to avoid confusion.
One would argue that Espurr and it's evolutions don't just have "circles" under their ears, those "circles" of which you speak are actually psychic eyeballs! And that is where Espurr and it's evolutions get their power from. Very creepy, very weird. Imagine your psychic powers being so potent that your head had to grow a second set of eyeballs that just so happen to pop out of your ears just to cope with your supreme intelligence. They sacrifice their hearing for their psychic powers! I wonder if said eyeballs are retractable, as well as extendable? And could Espurr control such movements? It must be painful to be so smart, literally. Case en pointe, Alakazam. Poor thing. Being psychic type must really be painful in certain scenarios. It makes my brain hurt just thinking about it. Ouchie! 🤕😣🥺😔😭
1:33 I remember trying to catch a Moltres on Yellow. Kept missing every throw. Swapped in Zapdos, caught it with the next throw. Made me wonder if what Pokémon I had out changed the catch rate.
Lapras-like? Looks more like Shadow Lugia to me. Makes me think they were originally considering making Shadow Lugia transferrable to the games, but scrapped it because they couldn't figure out how to do it without disrupting the battle system compatibility of the generation's games... Then again, XD did release about a year later. Perhaps it was just wishful thinking of a designer at Game Freak who happened to really like James Turner's design.
@@danielstokes2127 we had to alter a save file to force them to have it to show it off for the video haha 😅 as I mentioned in the video, it’s a bit more limited in normal gameplay, so you can’t see as many of the crazier colors

I don't think the berries are different one, just one of them (G3) have a leaf off but the two are the same, based on the "Physalis" fruit
