    Have a 22 TRD Sport with 6M transmission in Army Green as well, I like to go hunting off the beaten path , I would not want to walk to a phone reception area, very long walk. Park on the slope , will always start, manual / key is harder to steal. Have driven manual cars most of my life. Keep the manuals alive,. Cheers all.

    Looks great! I have a 23 lunar rock 4 door off road 6mt. 13,0000 miles. Just installed 5100/ with eibach springs today using your video as a guide. It worked out well. Thank you for sharing that video of the install. I’m getting an alignment tomorrow. I’m happy with my truck after 1year of ownership as well. Before that is was turbo charged hondas. I’ll be sure to leave a 👍

    After putting 300,000 miles on my 2004 Tundra Double Cab LTD, TRD with All Weather Package, my mechanic wouldn't put it on his lift anymore due to frame rot, even though it was involved in the Recall campaign for same. I was forced to replace it with the 2023 #7514C Tacoma Access Cab Utility version with 2.7L 4 cylinder engine & 4×4 option, so I went from all the bells & whistles to no bells & whistles. At 73 I'm over the luxury mindset & am loving that compact 4 cylinder cast iron block engine, which is yielding 25.5 mpg so far. Testimony is that a couple of these engines have logged over 1,000,000 miles ( with proper maintenance ), so I'm confident that I will surpass 300,000 miles again ( if I live long enough ). lol

      Props to you for having the skills to add all of that after-market "bling". This time I'm going for economical, reliable transportation, no jump seats or seatbelts, no rear speakers & no sliding rear window. I did install a "Realtruck" BAK Revolver X4S hard flush mount Tonneau cover which they claim will hold 400 lbs if the weight is evenly distributed. It looks very neat & sleek.

    Awesome video. I remember watching when you first got the truck and I was about to pull the trigger on the same truck but in army green. In almost a year, I've done 24k miles and I've had no issues. Even after all that driving I still get excited to drive it because of the manual trans. Side note, I think you got the best wheel, tire, lift combo. Looks amazing.

    Have to agree with ya, picked up my 2022 Sport, Access Cab with an automatic in Lunar Rock last July and love it. Yeah, the gas mileage is lousy and the automatic leaves something to be desired, but overall it's a great truck. Happy I bought it and I'd do it again. 👍

    Beautiful truck. I have a 23 v6 access cab with the SX package in celestial silver. It’s a 2WD it’s all I could afford. I love it to bits. It’s my daily commuter to work. My hood gaps to the fenders are the same. I took it to the dealer and he said that quality control is ok within 2mm so they didn’t adjust it. Thanks for sharing brotha.

      Great video review, thank you. I purchased a 2017 TRD Sport Access Cab 4x4 6MT in November 2022 with less than 9,000 miles. My other truck is a 1997 Tacoma ext cab 2wd 2.4L 5spd manual that I purchased new. I love them both.
      My fuel mileage on the 2017 has gotten as high as 24mpg and averages 21mpg pretty regularly.
      I hope that Toyota doesn't completely discontinue the access cab model for 2024.

    My TRD Sport Double Cab Manual in Lunar Rock has been good. Took me some time to get used to the manual coming from Honda and Mazda Manuals. It's clunky and odd but I felt it needed a little break in time for the synchros to all come together. Now it's a blast to drive. Going into 1st in some situation is a bit tricky and when you panic you can accidently put it into reverse but I just put it in 2nd in those situations and give it a bit more gas.

    You should change your front diff & rear diff to amsoil My manual transmission used to clunk like a mofo after I put that new fluid it sounded so much softer in the rear end & 90% of that clunking went away & I also did the accumulator mod where it still looks factory but it's bypassed that helps to clutch to be much better you can get it in first gear while you're rolling like 10 mph with the accumulator you had to damn near be stopped! I put amsoil in the front diff, rear diff & the manual transmission. I used redline MT-LV in the transfer case... & rather than changing your fluid every 30k like Toyota you can go at least 60K! ⛽ For thought. I have the 22 4x4 TRD off-road 6-speed manual purchased it brand 🆕 & when I did my diffs at 5K the fluid already looked like 💩 & had little metal shavings in it I just can't believe the difference using amsoil full synthetic fluid made... You have a VERY nice truck bro mine is very similar just the 4-🚪 & mine is blue crush metallic very rare color only for 2022-23... mine in PHX with AC on 14-16mpg thinking about doing a small TRD lift with bigger 🛞 🛞 but if the tires stick out outside of the fenders when you drive thru mud, dirt or rocks it throws them all over the side of the truck I've heard + ⛽ mileage sucks 🏀 🏀 in the city no matter how i drive it, 15 is worst i can bear 🤷.. I don't like doing lifts cuz Toyota set up that geometry PERFECT for the 🛻💨 & the light off-roading I do it's more than capable. Plus I came from a car I don't want my truck anymore top heavy & I added the RCI transmission skid plate with cat shields so the tweakers can't get to my catalytic converters lol

  • @honda116969
    @honda116969 Рік тому

    Very nice truck but damn you are EXTREMELY picky! (Not a bad thing, that's just u😉) It's just funny when I see people like you cuz I'm just so thankful to have the Tacoma that I always wanted I think they're ALMOST perfect from the factory when you wanted one so bad I just don't think people notice small things like the grill & the tail lights, I think the new heritage grill does look nice but when so many people have it it's like damn the original grill is almost the aftermarket one because so many have the heritage now 😂 and I do think that SR5 tail lights look better than the off-road. Your side mirrors 🚥 are also 🆒. I did have the long bed for a couple months waiting for the new truck & it barely fit in my garage with 1-2" to spare in the front & rear! with the 5' 🛏️ now I can pull in the garage much faster n' NOT worry. I do like to look of the extra cab but mine is the 4-door just a little more practical I guess. 🆒 Breakdown of your mods. If you do by chance read this & I wanted to keep the 🛻💨 at the stock height but I wanted a higher payload would you know how to go about that? Would stiffer springs remedy that issue? Payload is only 945lbs 3rd Gen 4th gen 🆕🌮 is 1,700lbs! 2023 Hilux is 2,200lbs! That's overkill but damn I just can't believe it's 2x more than the truck in the States. F-150 Tremor 2023 is 1,885 lbs! 🤷 weird specs... mine doesn't have a lot of the luxury features cloth seats not heated, no sunroof, no LED lights, no navigation or 360 📸 & no crawl control. It doesn't bother me except the LED lights looks hella nice! Mine came dressed up a little bit it has the step bars, mud flaps, 🛏️ lights, all weather floor mats, exhaust tip & blacked out badge's so it looks hella clean & not plain. Just gonna switch tires to the 265/75/16 vs 265/70/16 that's a1" bigger tire (30.6 vs 31.6) Ironman AT 10 ply

    • @randomrebuilds
      @randomrebuilds  7 місяців тому

      Going on a limb here but stiffer rear leaf springs might increase payload. Then again the bed is composite so just use caution.

    • @honda116969
      @honda116969 7 місяців тому

      @@randomrebuilds I guess they say no matter what you do, you can't increase payload because it has to do with the frame itself 🤷 I don't know I've seen so many people with Nissan frontiers & Tacoma loaded the fuck down & no problems! 1 thing you should get if you tow heavy or put a lot of payload in your truck is sumo springs ✅ that out under $300 & they're rated super good, they even have them on Amazon read the reviews only takes like 30 minutes to install them! Really 🆒 design! Basically a maintenance-free "airbag alternative" is what they're slogan is, I spoke with them & asked them if you needed to do the F&R the guy said nope you could do the rear & that's what most people do (towing or heavy payload) if you off-road a lot then you'd want to do F&R driving down those washboard type roads he said it really helps. ✅ them out let me know what you think 🤔 God bless you dude 😎 🛻🎯👍👍

      I would think so as it takes some force to "Slap it" far left to get it into the reverse slot. There is an audible "beep" once engaged in reverse to let you know you are in reverse and not 1st. Also, I have not tried to get to the the reverse gear while truck is in motion.
