Might have missed it in the video, but just in case, make sure to copy and paste your sockets and links for quick shop checking!
For example, "g-g-g" will highlight any 3 linked item with all green sockets. "g-r-g" will highlight a 3 linked item specifically with green, then red, then green in that order.
So if you want any item with 1 green, and 2 red, you'll need to type "g-r-r|r-g-r|r-r-g", as this will search for all 3 combinations with the colors you want.
To search for multiple options, seperate the combinations with a |, which is Shift \.
You can even add "|nn" at the end to find 10% ms boots in Act 1, then just type "|move" in Act 2 onwards to find better % movement speed!
I do this in Act 1-2 for all my 3 links, then I search for my 4links in Act 3+ with something like "g-g-g-r" and etc, plus the movement speed search :)

@@polle420 When I played EDC some leagues ago I had nearly 200 deaths at the end of act 10. Come on my level. I'm not joking.
What is this "life" you mention? Does it help increase my DPS?

One of my favorite thing to watch on a new league or a race or a gauntlet is how the best players manage their gearing. Like ben_ is fascinating to watch as he would achieve absolutely incredible level of gearing on day 1 when harvest gave all those reforges. He'd always burn absolutely all his resources, same with imexile. All the essences go, all the reforges get used and super quickly, they already have a very good build going.
It is the best way to learn how to go from scratch to look at those who are the best at it. The gearing aspect is key. You can clearly see it in the ranking on poe-racing. The best racers always tend to do well because they are fastest at getting geared enough for the endgame bosses they need to beat.
I do chaos recipe in SSF - I spam them on jewels and sometimes when my essences don't hit and I'm tilted, I'll use some chaos. But maybe that's just me.

Lower your expectations
Veteran here and bro so much i didnt know or stopped considering into my runs xddd, shud be less stress, thanks Steel and Ziz, ill celebrate a new GPU in PoE, excited af for the league start
Set reasonable goals for yourself not based on what others can do. Pick a skill that you find fun
I've played for years and still learned something new with the Betrayal idea Steel mentioned, that's actually a great idea

@zizaran FYI if you want to keep up the uni memes, this would be a guest lecture from Prof. Steelmage. Or perhaps he's a Visiting Assistant Professor, if he's got a contract for the whole term/year. Although Steelmage has done enough of these that I hope he's close to getting tenure.
Overleveling is way more versatile, yeah being underleveled actually gives you more XP and is overall faster, but the reason people like TyTy can get away with it is because they have an obscene amount of experience speedrunning the game and they also already have a carefully planned route through the game. They don't need extra levels to kill bosses quicker or to not die because they already have things planned out so well.
I'd also go as far as to say that you should really focus on what comes when you *do* get to maps more than just getting to maps, you can get to maps slower than other people but if you have more game knowledge and a better atlas/endgame strategy you'll more than make up the difference, especially if you interact with the economy in a good way by trying to craft certain meta items or flipping currency etc. If you play SSF I'd say planning is even more important imo, because if you just plan on waiting for things like divines or exalts to drop you're never going to get any, you gotta go farm them somehow, be it via div cards or strongboxes or something.

Hi ziz, thanks for the videos (and thanks to steelmage). Any chance we get a short video on which maps are woth taking with the "collect full stack of divination" mod from zirac? I got a few from looking some 6L cards and exalts but any help would be appreciated
I like your tips very much, thumbs up for that. But please bear in mind that not everyone plays from the perspective of efficiency (hideout = lava, time = money). I absolutely don't like this way of playing because it builds up unnecessary pressure and takes the fun out of the game. It doesn't have to be a race, it doesn't have to be a competition. So this should not be a general advice from your side.

I'm going to try SSF for the first time using an Absolution necro, I won't play HC, but I hate dying anyway.
Would you consider 54% Attack Block and 67% Spell Block, without Glancing Blows, to be Hardcore viable instead of using Grace and Spell Suppression?
I know that Attack Block doesn't avoid stuns like Evasion, and Spell Block is less consistent than Spell Suppression, but I can get those easily with just a shield, passives and Bone Offering, which will help me require less optimal gear for my first SSF try while I get used to crafting.

What I hate about gearing (as a casual) - and what gives me anxiety to the point that I simply stop playing or trading - is balancing resist. Like for example I want to buy new boots, but then I'd lose my cold resist they had. So now I'd need cold resist on some other part, where in turn I'd lose fire resist, and so on in a cycle. I know this sounds stupid, but this is really a big issue for me that kills the fun. How do you guys deal with this?
early game you can spec a little on the tree or drop a damage aura for purity of elements. If you are using a levelling/starter build you should have room for swapping an aura or even using some jewels with res on them
There's a harvest craft to swap resistance. So if you had or needed cold but the item you found had fire you can swap the fire for cold and it'll retain the same tier. Its quite costly but saves a lot of headaches.
best advice in the video : early game all your piece need life + resist thats in part for this exact reason.
overcapping resist early in league is also a really good in my opinion : you can snipe whatever big dps upgrade you can and get by until you get currency to properly upgrade your gear.
sure when you want to min-max it besome more tedious but ressource to do it become way cheaper.
i also really love when i manage to snipe good gear with crafted suffix causing me to balance resistance when upgrading way easier, also resi harvest craft are the only reason why i run harvest everything else got gutted
I level with purity of elements, and i try to get resistance rings with benchcrafted resists as soon as possible. Just overcap your resist in the beginning so swapping out gear is flexible
isn't cold DOT like the defacto best league start for 3.20? Sirus helm is super important for that build btw.

You forgot to mention that league mechanics stop spawning in low level zones once you reach a certain level, so if you want to proper degen foothills you gotta be downleveling. Don't remember the rule though.

My day 1 league tip is, sleep, wake up happy with no dcs/crashes and sleep depravation. Leagues always start 11pm for me, i rather sleep then play whole day every day till i'm bored.

I usually go Trickster for Toxic Rain. I find it well rounded for TR build. Am I missing something by not going other builds/ascendancies.
No, trickster, raider and pathfinder are the most used ascedencies for TR, just personal preference, raider is faster, pathfinder is tankier, trickster is a overall between that

I really fuckin hate this whole spell suppression thing. You're basically forced to play with armors that have evasion just to get it. It's absolutely obnoxious.

There wasn't much of a shakeup so honestly most of the old videos are it. Also, there's so many being posted rn and Ziz usually grabs a few from other people, so just do some research or give them time to theorycraft/find builds

@@doziergames if you're on softcore then majority of skills are viable, if you're on hardcore there is still plenty of strong builds. Go out of comfort zone and explore, you're just setting boundaries on yourself cause it's your comfort zone

I know its enough but I don't want to be killing a boss for 30 minutes. 😂I've played most skills in the game already and the most fun time I had was shield crush generals cry in expedition. Maybe some builds will be better with Jungs new ring.
