This video shows you how to install a new neutral safety switch in your 1999-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The neutral safety switch is a safety device that does not let your vehicle's engine start unless the transmission is in neutral. Best video I found for this. To the point, great instructions, thank you.
Sometimes the adjustment of the switch will correct a failure. Loosen the two screws slightly. Adjust the switch until, truck cranks while in park or neutral and will not crank in drive, reverse and other drive positions. If this works the switch was not timed properly instead of having a bad switch. Tighten the bolts. I did this on my vehicle - it works fine as it was cracking while in reverse before the adjustment. Awesome video. Changed mine in 30 min..!
we used to make those in rushford mn at trw they had an epoxy sealer where the wire connector goes and some had to replace the wiring harness then when it changed it had a silicone spacer and thats when the line was shut down and gm went with a niles switch where it is mounted inside the transmission so it makes it more work to replace than this switch did
What were the symptoms to make u change it?
BTW don't pull on the wires to disconnect the connector.
Is there a replacement process difference in manual vs automatic? If so, what differences should be observed?
Will a bad switch cause the car not to roll in neutral?
Question replace safety neutral safety switch now when vehicle in park it say it in reverse what I due wrong
What lubricant should I use
He stayed away from aligning the switch before installing. That's the most aggravating part. Disappointing trq
Carefully not to ruin your transmission .omfg really .smfh .corn
