U do know that u can hide files and layers in procreate forthe timelapse? those process videos mean nothing lul and no, those pics u have shown at 14:30 are these typical midjourney shite. I can understand if a non artist with untrained eye sees it and thinks its real but hearing from you that u thought once these were real drawings is quite disapointing
"Community"? what are you even talking about? A "community" is a myth. Especially something like "the art community", there is no "community", nobody knows anyone. You are just loosely associating all artists as if we were somehow all friends. Sorry dude. The idea of any "community" is a lie. It's all in your imagination.
The worst part about these fake "artists" is the fact that social media addicts are calling everything surreal/abstract "AI" when it very clearly is not AI-generated. Expert photographers have been the biggest target of these horrible "AI" comments, and it's gotten to the point where photographers are now having to record their process in order to prove they took the photo. Ironic how photographers have always been mocked for not being "real" artists, yet now they're the ones getting harassed for "AI photos" that are actually real photos lol. Media literacy has really gone downhill if we're attacking real artists for being even mildly better than Calarts students.
"You should change your style. Looks too much like A.I." Does it, now? Guess that means people don't need me, and I don't care. I was never the type of person to look for attention, as if that was anywhere close to the most important thing about self-expression. And if someone trained an algorithm on my stuff, it's no surprise why it looks similar. But hey, I would never trade away the experience of learning things and making connections between ideas. Nothing can touch that. Originality is a human concept... It's not a matter of "what makes the best image" or whether "some people have the same fingerprints" - it's all about the personality, the drive and the intent behind every mark Vs. how much something depends on the work of someone else to exist (which algorithms have been trained upon the works of millions of people)... It's not simply about how much something is "different" or "similar". If someone doesn't know what "marks" these algorithms do and just decide whether they are "good enough" only after they are applied and move on, then there is no human intent in those "generative marks" regardless of whether they choose to save them in a folder packed with other possible "marks" or whatever experience someone has. Each "mark" an accelerated algorithm does is influenced by processes that change them depending on circumstances and what they are working with-processes that no human can do, control or hide entirely. If people want to argue that they just need to be "creative", as in focusing on ideas over their execution, that is focusing on results, in which case they are skipping a process or parts of it (if they are sometimes using digital programs to edit things), and therefore are leaving interpretation up to anyone else as to what is made by humans. Such a concept based on one's drive and intent is meaningless to anyone who is not willing to put themselves in the practice of a craft while the people who do find it meaningful arguably become much more creative than the ones who don't. As long as algorithms are not truly intelligent, despite almost everyone labelling them as such, they can't outperform humans in what tasks they already do because they don't have any concept of humanity or the will to understand/feel it. They can still get close on a very superficial level if those filthy rich tech corporations pour enough resources in them to convince people that they can think for them, but I believe there is a constant limit to what they can do without being truly human. Say that they do develop sentience... Would that change anything about what people are? The problem is not the technology, it's the way people SEE it. When a CEO tells someone that they're a "specist" for wanting to make sure humans are O.K. in a future with accelerated compute or when someone says that "by obstructing the algorithm's RIGHT to 'copy' something, that is obstructing other people's rights"... people like this are willing to give rights to machines because they think that more intelligence = more truth, and that anyone who is less "intelligent" by their definition deserves to be taken advantage of. This is the foundation of the whole "A.I." movement: they decide that they don't need anyone's consent. They just think "might makes right". Meanwhile, people in politics and the justice department are actually considering having algorithms operate in those fields... one of them, I contacted, and they told me that "A.I. is coming whether I like it or not", and that makes me wonder what they are already doing about it. Whatever happens, what are people doing about it? That's what I care about the most over whether something is inevitable or not. I just want to know if people are doing things that actually matter to them over pursuing ideas that are only meant to make them feel somewhat comfortable about everything.
It's kind of incredible how fast people, especially ignorant ones who never did anything like what they're attacking, forget what humans can do. It's the exact same reason so many people believe everything ancient was done by aliens. They just can't seem to wrap their heads around how capable a species we are. And the strangest thing is, like, so many of them knew it yesterday. But they learn about any kind of new technology or a concept new to them and they just forget they knew things like that artists can do amazing things and not every woman is secretly trans. People really are getting dumber at an incredible rate
Oh, they do it with painting as well, because any painting usually doesn't have the detail of a photograph and can, therefore, be done via AI, apparently. Right-O. I usually do have images from the middle of the process just due to making decisions about that point, but even so, it doesn't concern me if somebody actually thinks a canvas was--or could be--generated by AI.
It really is a shame how the sharp decline in media literacy is directly affecting the rate at which AI-generated images are being posted... which causes REAL ARTISTS to get attacked for no reason at all.
To me, AI art is someone ordering food and saying that they cooked it. I mean, yeah, you got food, but you didn't cook it and it doesn't make you a chef.
Perfect analogy. A.I. art is also someone buying some clothes and claiming that they made every single clothe from scratch when you know that such a claim is complete bull crap.
I think a better example would be like a subway and telling them what yiu want on yiur sandwich. When it comes to regular reastyrounts, yiu are just asking them one thing and they just prepare according to how the reasturount does it. You can't tell them the ingredients or anything. But with subway, telling them what stuff to put in in a particular order and if yiu want it toasted is kinda similar to how people would write a prompt on what they specificaly want in the image and how it needs to be done. The prompt is the ingredients in a way. But even though you did tell tell that person what you want in the sandwich and how it needs to be done, you still didn't make it on your own. You told someone else to do that stuff for you. Yes, you in some way created the sandwich, but you didn't MAKE it or CREATE it with effort as you are not the one constructing it and putting work into it. Thats how I see AI. Someone going to subway, telling someone what they want on the sandwich and how it needs to be done, and then claiming that you made it because it's instructed by you.
The art community on social media unfortunately has always been toxic . But now its 100% worse nobody wants to help out or support new artists. And everything is a popularity contest only for people with big followings
Unfortunately, the tech industry judges things as being worthy of investment based purely on what industries they can "disrupt". They get a lot of media buzz for free for messing things up, like taxis, hotels, real estate ect. Right now this is a desperate run to get more funding as the money runs out
Right?? I only ever use ai to get ideas on what to draw for backgrounds, like I ask "generate a forest at night painted in cool watercolors," and it gives me an assortment of different layouts, different types of forests, cloud formations, etc. this gives me an idea on what fits the image in my minds eye the best, and i then draw using the elements from those generations in my own piece made with my own hands. I would never generate an image and post it claiming it's my own art.
I agree that AI was supposed to help in some way but as you know, people are lazy (not everyone obviously) and they use AI as a shortcut way to 'make something (not just art)' and then claim that they could do it
It's neat how this video starts off saying "the art community is so toxic because people are attacking artists for creating in ways they don't like"....and then immediately starts attacking artists who use AI in their work lol. Yea, the art community is extremely toxic. Just most of the toxic people think they are being "the good kind of hater though". lol
What brings a person to believe and say this? Its crazy how two people can interpret “common sense” in two entirely different ways. Exaggerated wordplay such as that, “AI racist,” is extreme as heck considering the context of its upbringing.
@@hollowedboi5937Given where we are in society, how is this surprising?? The standard of identity is basically “whatever I and those who agree with me say it is”. It’s been downhill for a while now.
@@Window4503you are falling for it then instead of fighting against it bro, you can't let these greedy massive industries control art exposure OR IN GENERAL. It's better that somebody talks about it but definitely not enough, change must happen.
@@sneekysnek7517 So AI artists popularize new style, and such a cool style that other artists try to copy his style, just to be shamed for using AI. And this is all right after u talk about how toxic art community towards other artists and how it is bad. XD
same, been browsing for any art forms ai can't copy, plan to use techniques that make my work more noticeable and obviously human too. someone suggested an insignia, as ai can't copy that yet apparently, and someone else suggested growing your perspective of the world so that you can create genuinely unique things would be a better idea. I still plan on being an artist, but damn, are ai making that dream annoying.
I've been on an artistic hiatus for a little over a year now and I'm slowly getting back into drawing. One thing that I find atrociously hard to draw is hair but you know what? I LOVE drawing hair and I enjoy spending hours on end looking at photos and other works to learn and understand how to draw good looking hair! I've been drawing almost my whole life and while I learn at a slow pace I just enjoy the process. As you said, there can be many "failed" attempts before that good one, and there is no greater joy than looking at a finished piece and say "I did that!!", realizing all your hard work and dedication finally payed off! To all young/new artists out there, don't give up and keep on learning! Don't let AI take the joy of creation and imagination away from you!
Yup fast is not better it’s like the microwave mentality Rather learn the skill the satisfaction is unlike any other it’s like any other art medium sculpture etc don’t care for how A.I. looks too overly not random as a hand will produce An acrylic artist Vs an A.I artist no comparison the arcylic piece will in most instances fetch more on the market Don’t care what anyone says Sure learning can be frustrating but in the end, there’s nothing like the feeling of beating that anxiety and actually achieving, what you set out to do by hand
I hate how any time I want to search for a reference photo, I'm immediately hit with ai art. Just a few days ago, I and a friend were searching through merch from shows we like, and it was just filled with ai generated images
@@elsinaattheworkshop I 100% agree, I feel like there is some actual use to ai, but people are using it for the wrong reasons, for scamming, which is sad 😔
What bothers me most about Petra's case is that I had read that she apparently went to art school to only use AI. Not to mention that when they tell her that she uses AI and she shouldn't do that, she gets arrogant with her answers as if she were untouchable 😑 And those same "artists" who use AI, pretend to be people who strive to "create art", while dude, you did nothing.
@@MohammedAgbadi I'm not really sure but I did see in other videos and on a website that Petra had, which also seemed to be written by AI, in which she said that she did go to art school. Literally it was just a waste of money to end up using AI for your "art"
It's only been two years since it went public so she is doing what the typical ai user does, she is lying about what she is capable of. I doubt there is a ai school.
The only reason these “redesign” accounts are popular is because they’re based on existing popular IPs. It’s literally the only reason. Without that, they would fail immediately, as it would require real talent and creativity from their authors.
This is truly disheartening. As someone who's still early on their art journey, I sometimes catch myself thinking 'what's the point?' when I see the art community like this. I'm not gonna give up this time, but it still bums me out.
Fellow art learner here, don't give up,what differs your human art from AI is that it has a soul and a taste for creativity, plus ai art looks extremely detailed making it obvious to catch.
Same here, it can be concerning and distressing. But though many people are getting impatient and lazy and want easy gratification, I'm not giving up because nobody can force me to use AI. If people want to fully depend on a computer to make stuff for them, that's their business, and usually on them for not even making effort. I'd much rather struggle and laugh at myself drawing incorrect anatomy as I learn, then let a machine create an odd-looking overly realistic image for me. Because art isn't just about pretty images and getting to the result as fast as possible, but a process. Both a process of creating, and finding joy and passion, in what the human mind and hand can do. Which more and more people seem to be failing to understand.
The splatoon 3 discord server has an art section and they’re really friendly there, I don’t think I’ve seen a single toxic comment. They’re pretty good at spotting AI, too.
Lowkey, I'm honing my skills for a future hopefully-less-shit community. But also my ultimate dream is to have a community around my creations, not just share my creations to another community.
Art in itself is fucking hard. Its so much self discipline learning so many fundamentals and trying to find yourself in it while keeping motivation. This whole situation that’s been happening over these past few years has made things even more difficult. Because of this, for you to keep on moving is incredible. Because its brave to continue moving forward despite not knowing what comes next. And despite adversity. If art is what you want to do then go for it. I find what I keep hearing is continue to make the art you want to make. Don’t create for the masses, create for yourself and the kind of people you want to make this for: what are they into and why? How can I show my process and art in a way that gives them value? (Entertain, educate, inspire)
Its getting bad, when i google anime pictures/something related to anime/art theres ALWAYS that ai art picture SOMEWHERE. I don't know if its my search results that are cursed 😔
When I just Google regular photos of animals, instead of getting regular pics, and links to wildlife information, I get tons and tons of people selling ai animal art and posters 💀
Google is the worst for looking for non-AI art. Bing is better, but there's still a lot of AI. You can also use a search term to exclude certain known AI generating websites. I think it's adding a minus symbol in front of the word. That works on all major search engines
Another bad side of ai is that real artists like myself are being called fake, or in my case literally being harassed in dms and having comments on my posts, acusing me of being an ai artist. It's infuriating that we are are getting the hate that should go to these ai people.
I once saw an obviously AI generated image on Pinterest (the foot was literally backwards lol) and while everyone was calling them out there was someone saying “oh but but maybe that’s just their art style or something they do instead of a signature” 🥺 Like I’m sorry WHAT‽ It’s so annoying this whole situation. Either I find people attacking the wrong people, defending the ones using AI, or trying to literally give everyone the “benefit of the doubt” no matter how obvious it is that it is AI!
I really feel bad for talented artists like you, I wanna get better at art but it’s discouraging to know that the better your art is the more likely it will be stolen by art stealers or AI scrapers.
@@Man-ej6uvsame lol, like my art style is some kind of "animation art style" that i came up with to excuse my poor rendering skills, basically its just very simple with its shading and stuff. if someone honestly would think that i can find an ai art-generating website that's free, requires no downloads, and can also replicate my art style all at once, then they're an idiot LOL
one of my friends said "calling yourself an artist for using AI is the same thing as calling yourself a chef for reheating food in the microwave" and i think that was very well said.
@@RobertScholten they still didn't make the food themselves. they are reheating someone else's food. they did not make anything, they just pushed some buttons. the same as what ai bros do.
@@RobertScholten The problem is that you seem to think art is only about pretty pictures, therefore every image that looks decent no matter where it came from is art. That's not how it works. Sure you can probably make money selling AI images just like you can have a restaurant feeding people microwaved food, but that way you aren't really doing anything that your customers can't just do themselves, there's no real value and no meaning.
@@RobertScholten Art is much more about the process, learning and skills of the artists which give value to the art pieces themselves, than the finished product. Even if it’s better it’s soulless money-making shit, there’s no evolving in there
@@RobertScholten art made by humans can evolve regardless of other humans. Art made by ai cannot evolve without ANY human input. not the same, at ALL. one is guaranteed to hit a brick wall without the help of its creators, and the other gives us new valid perspectives just by LOOKING at it.
Seeing these AI accounts trying to pass as artists is so disheartening. I want to be a Character Designer after I’m done with uni, but now every time I look at my art… I just don’t feel motivated to create mostly because I always think “my style is bad” or “undesirable”. I’m trying to be as optimistic as possible, but it’s just so hard.

Unfortunately I’m going into my final year of Uni this upcoming semester, so I’ll have to start job hunting soon 😅
The last time I felt like the art community was in its best era was literally 2000-2009 deviantART I may be biased because I felt the most community when I was there. It makes it hard to look where we are now and go, "wow, deviantart was pretty okay back then actually."
I stopped using DA regularly about 5 years ago maybe more. At some point, probably 2 years ago, I liked a bunch of gen AI not knowing it was AI (I don't keep up with internet stuff). So, a few months ago I was looking at my DA likes to find some art inspiration since pinterest was bogging me down with all the AI on there. But when I saw the harsh shift of genuine art to AI I just felt extremely sad. All except the most recent likes was genuine art, hundreds of images of genuine work and then suddenly not. I realized I can no longer just enjoy art, how even subconsciously now I comb through every piece I see and look for the signs of AI. It's exhausting, and I yearn for the days where I could just enjoy art because it was only art, none of it was this AI bull.
@@Iishoyeah, im having a hard time with Pinterest too. I ontem search images for my dnd campaign, and now ALL i fundo on Pinterest is IA crap. Dont have much time to research so... Now i have lots of NPCs made by IA and It makes Very desapointed.
Anyone else just stopped posting their art on the internet entirely? Sorry I don't want to be one day ""featured"" on civitai. Absolutely wild times we live in where blatant theft is happening and nobody cares.
I’m just posting one a week with glaze, though I don’t really know why I post. It’d be amazing to have a shop, but it seems only my friends see my posts and not much else. Making them as portfolio pieces would be cool but sharing is odd to me now. Like who am I sharing this to and why? Do I need their likes and admiration? What does that mean to me? Is this more an addictive hit then a legitimate career choice, or am I actually enjoying this or not?
I stopped posting my art ever since ai art exploded in popularity. I don’t want to feed the machine. It’s hurtful though because I spent my entire life loving art, ever since I could hold a crayon, and dedicated countless hours to learning how to draw (and I’d call my art style amateur at best). Now, when AI can spit something out that is better than anything I’ve ever made in my life, I struggle to feel inspired at all. I wish I didn’t feel completely robbed of my creativity but that is just how I feel. Now, if I’m to be creative, I’ll do it for myself and not for the random likes on the internet.
Right, and then there are these people who use AI getting all that praises and stuff, actual artists have been working hard and then they're the ones being called fake 💀
Not to mention Petra's art sold for up to 2 eth EACH after this whole situation happened. She sold a lot of pieces between .5 eth to 2 eth a pop. Insane!!!!
You should do a video about the Pokémon art contest this year. One person stole 6 of the winning slots using AI. They already broke the rule of posting more than 3 artworks. I don’t even know how that got through Pokémon’s moderation!
It’s all so fucked up… on Chinese social media, we got the same problem, a bunch of artists being asked if their artworks are ai…and even after they put out the PSD file video they are still being accused of ai. I mean…not everyone has the time or the ability to record the whole dame process and 100% got approved not AI. Even if you got the video, they can just say you hid the layer so you can fake painting it. Just wtf…they just saying you’re AI so they have great feelings and watch you being miserable and saddened. They might not even know how to paint and how everything works. How about artists that just use one layer to draw? I used to do that, keep merging and not over 3 layers to exercise and have fun.
why does all this kinda remind me of how people on amino would have like. rules in the communities where youd have to show the layers or put your hand in front of the drawing with ur username it was for entirely different reasons but im still getting deja vu lol they didnt trust ANYONE on that platform (and for good reason tbh)
Recuerdo eso, el mostrar el proceso de su arte para evitar robos, genuinamente me parece una buena idea para demostrar que alguien hizo algo y las reglas eran duras pero justas
Fr, but for communities where they're selling or trading that art, it's especially beneficial. Since it helps prevent scammers trying to get people's money from stolen art Annoying, but I can definitely see why they needed those rules
@@mintchako8079 oh you're good man! Didn't mean to sound accusatory or nothin xD Though tbf, I have seen a few people complain about the proof rules, so they're definitely out there lol
My biggest issue with the art community is the whole "I don't like the subject matter in your art it makes me uncomfy so instead of blocking you I'm going to harass you until you stop making art that I personally don't like or you deactivate" i.e Twitter and IG This is why I just stay on Newgrounds
Perfect tie-in to whataboutism and main character syndrome. People claim to be open-minded and nonjudgmental while demanding everyone bow to their ideas

What I find really sad about this whole ai situation is when I see some cool art my instincts immediately tell to look for proof if it was made by ai or a real person. I miss the days when I saw an art piece and could admire the artist without having to play the judge first...
For now it's at least obvious in most cases as many AI bros aren't artists that see what's wrong with the output. But it's definitely a problem in the long term, I think the only solution will be tightly controlled communities that don't allow AI art.
I understand people not wanting to use their real voice in their Tiktok videos, but that AI Voice in the video at 10:45 is so annoying I can hardly focus on what it's saying. Sorry, that's a little off topic, but I was getting frustrated trying to listen to it, haha. Great video! This whole AI art situation is such a mess.
Completely agree, and THANK YOU because I’ve always felt this since its been a thing. It’s nice to be in a place where you can agree I guess this is what an online art community really is. People send or show memes and I hear that and I gotta stop em and say, “dude no stop I don’t wanna hear that.” Or just tell them continually, “ew that voice is so gross I’m sorry I don’t wanna hear that no thanks.”
Omg I've disliked that ai voice for a while now😭😭 I think its overused and just it hurts my brain with its raspyness Tiktok has other ai voices that sound good, they definitely could've used those instead but its whatever 🤷♀️
Ugh it’s so frustrating. I’ve been getting the AI accusations lately too. I’ve been studying portraits HARD for the past 3 years when I decided to take art more seriously. It started with people on Reddit claiming I did paint overs. I didn’t. Then another portrait was “wow crazy how so many people us AI of these all over Instagram.” That was when AI art first started so I genuinely couldn’t tell if they were being passive aggressive. Now I get it ALL THE TIME when I post on Reddit. To the point that when people ask to see a speedpaint; I assume they’re just trying to “prove” it’s AI. And if they have good intentions, then I can’t tell anymore. I’ve tried changing my rendering style to a more sketching unblended process but it hasn’t quelled the accusations much. Nvm that all of my work is uploaded to Cara which is pretty solid at detecting AI generated images.
You could try using an insignia to work into all of your art. Like not a signature, but a symbol that’s consistently part of the artwork. AI can’t do that and it would take effort for you to at the very least keep adding it even if you did use AI. All the better if you can make a composition with the symbol or a character based on it or something. Do things that AI can’t do. And what it can’t do is have consistent details across outputs.
I don’t think there should be any complaints against people who use AI in their work if they say: “Yes, I use AI.” It's really ugly when a person tries to hide it.
Totally agree with you Mohammed, ai is destroying human creativity. Anyone using ai and claiming that they're an artist is a fool and definitely not a real artist.
Its not destroying human creativity; The people who call themselves AI artists dont have what it takes to set themselves to learning art, and those who do have what it takes will make art regardless, because its like a compulsion. What is being lost are jobs and the general public’s ability to appreciate what we artists are making with our own hands.
As someone who just reignited her love of drawing, and is now even kinda good at it, I want to share my work online. But instead of having my old worries of posting something “not good enough”, it’s now replaced (mostly) with the fear of people thinking/commenting that all the progress and work I’m so proud of is just AI. I CAN FINALLY DRAW HANDS BUT THE DAM MACHINES CAN DO THAT SORTA WELL NOW TOO WHERE IS THE JUSTICE😭
Show it. Glaze/Nightshade it first, maybe put one of those tags on saying “not made with AI,” but if you wanna show your work and it ain’t taking advantage or plagiarizing others, then do it. Show your awesome work. You can quit whenever you want. It doesn’t have control over you. And you can do as you please. I say show that love and passion if its there.
Bro. Who cares, everything changes. AI is just a sign of how shit our time is. Don't forget our current society isn't sustainable at all. Most things are based on lies too, it's all fucked. Anyone who is honest and has a clear vision will see what I mean Do what you want to do, there's no merit in anything
because a lot of those progress shots are just traced AI pictures were they edit the video to remove the parts where the reference is visible. The last artist mentioned in the video is definitely doing that, those pictures are him redrawing AI pictures
@@j.2512 i get it why people are distrustful. I've seen fakers too. My comment points at artist who had proof of not using ai, and still calling them using ai. It had happened at least once to a commentator artist on youtube (mint turquoise hair). I absolutely do not mind people calling out ai - what i do mind is artist being under the same fire _bc_ someone falsely accused them. Ran their art through an ai art checker and now think they're better. I get what you're trying to tell me. I've seen those fakes too. Heard their arguments, etc. Like I said: What I'm trying to tell is not every artist should be accused of using ai, when they clearly don't. The tedious discussion reminds me when peoole said "you can't live from digital art, bc it's not real".
9:30 As someone whose art was stolen in highschool, I feel for those trying to prove themselves. My teacher did not believe me and my other classmates did not "snitch" on who did it (it wasn't just one person from what I could tell), I have trust issues from then since. I have anxiety when sharing any art to the public.
ai slop users also flodded the search as well. Can't look up stuff like angels without some ai gen slop showing up. Since it's so easy to make, I won't be surprised if there are more ai gen posted than actual art posted on the internet.
And it will only fill up every feed even faster- since it only requires them a click of a button to start generating 4 pieces at once and for those to possibly get into someone's feed
AI can produce 1000x faster than human. We need brainstorming, concepting, revision, sketching etc etc and Ai can done it all of that under 30 seconds. Really scary.
If anyone's using Google, using -"" will exclude whatever's in the quotation mark. -"ai", -"stablediffusion", and -"midjourney" should block a few ai images. For Pinterest, go to your settings in your profile, and select tune your home page. Uncheck the images you don't want Pinterest to recommend you. Saving a few human illustrations to your pin should also help.
that Spiderman concept art... when you're too lazy, unskilled & so completely apathetic to art, that you can't even be bothered to fix the simple & obvious things the AI got wrong. is that a hotdog in a paper bag, floating on his wrist? there's missing backpack straps, leg straps that don't go all the way around, nonsensical buckles & pack shapes. even a beginner artist could fix these things in a couple minutes.
I think what’s scary about it is how companies will see this art and how its laid out like a concept art page. This could be taken as something they’d want to roll with. I’ve heard in contrary people trying to do this but they don’t have layers to ideate on or the ability to keep the same style and make minor tweaks so the turnaround is like 3 times as long and even more frustrating.
whoever tries to hire these character designers is going to have a rough time. "make this a little different" is going to be a very very hard thing for them to do, as it's not precise, and in my opinion, never will be.
Exactly. AI might get you 90% of the way there to exactly what you want. But you're still going to have to pick up a stylus pen for that last 10%. And as with many projects, the last 10% is where 90% of time, effort, and skill is spent.
some company did that and the Art director was having a tough time with them. they were useless. and just bloated the staff. i think the AI peeps got fired after.
You know nothing of the Ai the companies use. Those parts can easily be fixed with ai too. This is the worst thing about this. Forget the stupid braindeads of twitter. In the actual world, HUNDREDS of real illustrators and artists have been laid off(like me) companies in favor of ai. Its being used rn and most people dont even know it. And companies pay for Ai software, that is specifically written for that particular company so they dont commit theft. There is no point in being a commercial artist anymore😔
Nope. You can fix these mistakes easily with specifically written ai software. You need phyton coding skills but most companies pay to have a software made for them. It’s cheaper to pay for Software to generate art than to pay an in-house artist. Sincerely, one of hundreds of artists in europe being laid off
@sarasoryu That’s so sad.. though it was inevitable for something like that to happen. Can you tell me what companies are using AI for their works? I don’t want to support companies like that and if there’s enough people who say they think AI usage is gross then maybe things can change for commercial artists..?
I'm really scared of AI because I desperately want to become a professional artist when I grow up but at this rate I and many others will never get to experience that. If AI continues, everyone will suffer too, not just artists. Writers, movie directors, politicians, everyone will be affected negatively. AI honestly should just stop immediately in its tracks, but the people behind it suck so they won't stop
Please don't give up on your dreams! Writers create strikes against ai, artists wouldn't stop making art and profiting from it in some ways. There are people who would love to support real artists no matter how they "lack" speed or quality of ai. Photography didn't kill artists, nor will math smash pixels machine. Because without training material it's pathetic, and even with it, it kinda can create only pretty generic stuff and can't interpret complex ideas and draw them coherently.
Ironically it will consume them too because as they discourage real original work, they’ll have nothing new to train on. The model they’re currently using hasn’t been innovated since its inception. They’re already running out of data to use for training, which means the AI will need fresh meat. If we can starve it out for long enough, we may have a chance.
1.) you neglect all the positive aspects AI could provide (and already did). 2.) you can not stop progress. either adapt or get left behind. 3.) art is not just digital 4.) art as an occupation is not always a blessing and financial interest should never be the sole reason why you do it. 5.) you should feel privileged that one of your biggest concerns seems to be an art career hindered by AI algorithms. Idk if you see or know whats going on in the world, but I personally am much more afraid of other things atm. ;)
@@Window4503 you do not seem to know how generative AI art works. There is no "the model THEY are currently using". There are several different platforms which offer generative AI based on different algorithms and datasets, but you can also just train your own models with your own datasets. There is no "starving THEM out". There is so much art out there already which can be combined in endless combinations and with time the models will just get better and better. Many platforms like Midjourney probably added different biases, because you cant replicate the style of popular artists anymore like you could before. But when you do your own models....there is nothing that holds you back copying other artists style. And then, when you got basic art skills, you can easily fix some errors and do some overpainting/compositing and nobody would be abled to notice. No matter if you like it or not, digital art and its perception has changed...and it will change even further. And the sooner you adapt and find your niche, the better you will handle future situations.
This is so true. I just started my channel and posted my first video Monday. But for the longest I was scared to start because of the art trends and ai becoming a big thing and all the bullying in th community. But I’m entering the idc what other people think someone will like me for me and my art.
The section on Yuan and their art reminds me of the FB art groups that I'm in - a lot of stuck-up older artists believe that if it's not drawn in traditional media it's either A, not real art, or B, AI. It's so frustrating trying to explain to them that digital artists can still make art with traditional media and that a drawing tablet is just a different type of media, like how acrylic paint is different from charcoal
As someone that can't go to in person events the only way I can enjoy art is through the internet. Now I have to deal with wannabe artists stealing hard earned work from others to look good and sometimes for money. Honestly this is just disgusting. I see no nonviolent way of stopping ai so I guess it is just here to stay. and the newer generation will no longer know true art.
This war is already lost, it is very painful to say, but the ai has already been trained, on every style, it’s awful. I was in the online art community for a little while and it made me never want to come back again, there’s no fixing it. The only thing I can say is to move to the tangible world, it will eventually die too (3d printing and etc) but at least there’s some instrinsic value to whatever piece you create, just like we can have Picasso’s and Van Gogh’s prints, but the real piece is still the valuable one, because their hands held the brushes that painted those. It is the only solution I find to this problem. Unless you can live and work in the online environment, then, good luck and a hug to you 😢❤
There is no art community. Most actual artists have their own dedicated communities who they have cultivated and AI has 0 influence over that. The "art community" is just the losers on social media constantly looking for drama and someone to harass. They're just easy to milk for views. It's why UA-cam artists even bother with this drama.
@@PossibleBatThe toxicity of the online Art community directly led to the rapid rise in AI art, via Streisand Effect. I personally point to the r34 community being petty and toxic enough to create an audience of lewd degenerates. AI art does what the r34 community does but better, and they are seething and coping at their cash cow being slain.
Thank you so much for the feature in this video, I'm caitlinkoi_art! I want to clear up some misinformation, I am not one of the artists that was scraped for Petravoice's "Babes" series. In my tweets at 6:26 and 8:10 I try to make it clear that I started drawing in that style (which I call "ethereal dreamcore pop surrealism") after finding out Petra's art was AI back in May. I wanted to see that eye-candy aesthetic in a real piece of art, so I did it myself. I stand by what I said, if AI can steal from us, we can take it back. AI art is the definition of appropriation, "the action of taking something for one's own use, typically without the owner's permission." GenAI appropriates real art and we have every right to reclaim it. Fantastic video, subbed!
its gonna be interesting for these ppl who have never picked up a pencil or edited a piece of work when their clients ask them to adjust the work very minutely several times over the developmental stage of designing a subject or making a commission for someone who wants something mildly specific on top of that there's gonna be more fiddle work because they wont have a layered file to sift through to make things easier/faster
the studios are firing most of their art staff right now and just keep one illustrator to edit the AI images. I am seeing it in both big and small studios
Rant incoming but; nothing ever got me more frustrated than arguing with Ai advocates/enthusiasts. It was like talking to wall. Because no matter what you say they’ll always respond with the same insignificant response of how ‘Ai better!!! Ai better!!’ Or how ‘Artist can’t compete with Ai, it’s just a fact!!’ But refuse to listen to reason or another perspective. But what hurts even more is when some Artists agree with those Ai enthusiasts (probably to make both sides happy). Saying how ‘they understand why people would choose Ai than art made by hand’ and how ‘it’ll eventually replace us all’. Don’t feed in to their opinions on Ai, it’s not gonna make them like you, and it’s not gonna change their perspective. They don’t care for what you do or the time and effort you put into your art. They don’t care about what you make. They spend hours a day arguing how ‘Ai is superior’ but you think agreeing with them, is gonna make them give a shit about what you create. No 😭
No AI "art" would even exist without thousands of human artists. But these people don't care. It's always important to determine if someone is arguing in good faith before you waste your time.
I was questioning what an “online community” was because it seems so foreign compared to in person meet ups. But I can see now that this comment section is filled with like minded people, real artists and art supporters, who have the same disdain and frustration of this situation. There isn’t any of the people you mentioned above here, or at least none that I’ve seen. It’s nice to see so many with the same ideals. If they are a wall, or an npc, best we can do is just to acknowledge that there’s nothing to sway this person and ignore them, or do the direct actions required if they’re doing malpractice with calling them out, reporting them, and blocking them. No need for empathy with an unwavering black and white opinion with no nuance. No need to bridge the gap to keep everyone cool.
What irritates me the most is that they call themselves the artists and authors of these drawings, but all they did was type a request for a brainless program to make them a burger from pieces of someone else's work. They claim that writing what kind of drawing they want is also a lot of work, and real artists are no better than AI, because they also learn by looking at other people's drawings. This makes me furious.
AI bros, man. Here's what I've noticed. They haaaate manual artists. Yet they desperately want to be them. Before genAI, they talked mad shit about real artists, how art degrees are useless, how unlike tech, art contributes nothing to the advancement of society. But the moment they had the opportunity to create art through gen AI, they absolutely flood the artist spaces, calling themselves artists, saying stuff about how AI gave the 'talentless' the ability to bulldoze the gates that the 'talented' smug manual artists were keeping. This tells me one thing: They were always bitterly envious of manual artists, and their hatred of artists boiled down to their own perceived self-talentlessness, their own laziness or perceived lack of opportunity to practice. And that chafes my arse. Talent merely makes it slightly easier to progress. The rest is hard work. I'm not gatekeeping anything for non-artists, they're just mad that I was willing to sacrifice a lot of time, effort and 'normal, useful jobs' to hone my skill. And they call me privileged for it, and to them, AI kills our supposed privilege.
@@0uttaS1TE Yet is the key word, I'm going to be horrified the day they can. Also horrified for the day they give AI actual eyes and have them learn by seeing. Then it can understand 3D objects, and look at images like we do.
I’ve seen it with Procreate where they trace over the image but they can hide layers in the replay. So the give away is their weird ass layout and construction of characters.
There are now image generators where you can feed it 3 different types of images along with word prompts. Image prompt, style ref and character ref. So now people can casually upload various art styles and characters along with the image reference. It's getting out of hand with this ai art now showing up in digital artbooks and how-to-draw books and being sold for the amount of genuine tutorial books and art collections.
It makes me happy that when scrolling through Deviant Art, the AI creators (calling them artists is just wrong sorry not sorry) often have zero comments. They do nothing but pump out images that are very obviously AI and I think more people are picking up on it.
its horrible how some real artists are so underrated and they barely get visibility and then ai artists are everywhere. why is everything the opposite as it should be
@@Hongsebaoshi i don't know if that's something to be proud, really. As they don't really created it. Always the easy route and fast "succes" yeah? Meanwhile a lot a young artists struggle to improve their work and don't find their first creations good enough...

wait, what? at first, I thought she wasn't using AI because she showed the photoshop file...but then I went to her Instagram and she says she uses AI and on her website she even says that she has exhibitions with several galleries all over the world 😭 lmao did I miss something? Why are the AI people getting gallery showings?
I am constantly debating when, how and where to start taking art commissions. It just seems to be getting worse and worse to even start out within this field, yet I am determined to jump in this hell hole. Drawing and painting is something I purely love doing; The process of creating something fulfills my soul in a way. And I keep wanting to keep creating, challenging myself if I can recreate perfectly what my mind is picturing. I will not let AI take it away from me. AI should be put to the tasks that are chores, and annoying to do, not to make it do stuff we love doing, just so we get to do the boring stuff. To start only intimidates me, since I'd love to be lucky enough to live with that income, so the boring and draining office job could go bye bye.
I’d say in the rules section of applications of commissions, put in full caps “NO AI, NO NFT.” To show negativity. And glaze/watermark that stuff when in the process/sketch phase.
Unfortunately, Moravec's Paradox is a thing. Humans have been learning to do boring mundane tasks like catching a ball or pissing straight for millions of years, so while it's easy for us, it's hard for AI. But the fun stuff like art and writing and creative pursuits has only be developing in humans for the past few thousand years, so while it's hard (but fun and fulfilling) for us, it will be piss easy for AI. The future does not look good.
after watching this, that art was actually gorgeous which is such a shame. imagine how the ai “artists” will become in the future if they are already having this amazing quality now. its so sick. people should learn how to draw instead of js making an ai do it. learn for yourself or dont learn at all
Yup. I was struggling a lot with drawing manga-style heads, and realized part of my problem was being terrible at drawing circles. So, I got a cheap little sketch pad and started practicing circles daily. I'm up to 19 days so far and can already do near-perfect circles in less than 15 seconds. And I only practiced around 3-5 minutes a day. You really can get massive improvement over time with small consistent steps of practice.
@@eikonokitsune it really sucks that it has to be that way. i cant believe im even saying this like “maybe tracing wasnt so bad” nowadays. art is a skill theres no easy way of going about it. i wish people grow up and learn themselves. if they really want to be an artist you have to work for it
@@temuminmin Yeah, i agree but unfortunately nowadays people are looking forward to go with the most easy and lazy route to go instead of work hard to master it. 😔💨
A hill I will die on: AI images is not, and cannot be considered art. I'm no artist, and if I want something made I'll commission an artist who knows what they're doing. Not some AI that's non-consentually fed other people's work to copy.
Very disheartening to see such drama unfold. Especially for digital artists. Social media such as Instagram, Twitter and even Pinterest of all places are starting to shove A.I. generated images more often than not, making it harder to differentiate as it improves more and more. I have yet to see how it's gonna target traditional art as well.
@@hollowedboi5937 might as well. However, it's gonna be impossible to find a more prominent platform when Meta, Google and others have the biggest stranglehold on the internet entirely. And not much people (who are not well versed in art) are aware of it. Hate to sound defeatist, but the way things are going ain't pretty. And what's even sadder is that tech giants are benefitting heavily in this.
what i find disturbing is that for most people it would be very difficult to tell if a piece of work is artist beign stylish or making mistakes, vs it is the AI making it, while at the same time if it looks too perfect you might question it as well, you cant rely on human error as a signal that a human was involved. i find certain things that are flaw to have a nice value, like a card made by a child, rather than being printed or bought is much more special, but if we are getting to the point where we cant tell, then what now?
Usually if a piece looks far too realistic and too perfect, it's AI. Although some actual artists are just INSANELY good at realism, so I can't always base off of that. And unfortunately.. AI generations are also starting to be 2D as well, so it is getting harder and harder to tell.

@@DrZeddy-wo5fdso you’re not an artist huh, it’s used by lazy people who constantly insult and put down people who legitimately work hard on their art, as well as taking credit for the work by doing nothing.
I told EVERYONE! The second I saw the first mushy midjourney image, I said "this will fuck up us all". And EVERYBODY I know said "calm down it's just a tool!". AI will learn to fix the mistakes and make "art" indistinguishable from real artists. It has started to hide hands now, because it couldn't figure them out. If you see an AI image, check out the hands, it's wild that it learned to hide them. 10 years from now it will replace many artists in the concept art industry. It's just too good and too fast for companies to not use it. I hope EU sanctions the use of AI, so it won't take away peoples jobs, but I doubt it. It feel so vindicated but also so sad that I was right...
already happening, i know studios firing most of their artists and just having some guy edit AI images. ITs really bad for pre-production work like concept art because it all stays in-house, most of that art will not be shown to public so no one cares if its using AI.
It just baffles me that now, one has to carefully look at every art piece they stumble upon just to make sure it's not AI. Worse is the fact that people PREFER AI over real art, claiming that AI images can be just as much of "art" as human-made ones. And most of these people aren't even artists themselves, thus cannot understand the entire process and thought that goes into art, although I honestly find it worse when actual artists support AI This led to absolute paranoia in the art community, and it's awful. Nobody ever asked for AI to exist, especially not artists. It's not a "tool" for artists either, it was made SPECIFICALLY to generate images without learning to draw or learning photography, that's always been the entire point?? The fantasy to create images out of thin air has always existed, yet that fantasy was never on the artists, but on the people who refuse to learn art for one reason or another. Aside from that, nobody asked for or needed this kind of "tool" All in all, it's such a shame that artists cannot exist peacefully anymore. As an artist myself, I much prefer raw, human-made art, the kind of art that people put their feelings and soul into, the kind of art that has a unique emotion, feeling, "vibe", atmosphere, meaning. Even if that meaning may be just "I wanted to draw this for fun", it's still way more valuable than the soulless garbage that AI produces. It may look good on the surface, and I do admit that some images look really nice aesthetically, but I still cannot admire them, they lack humanity. Not to mention how uncanny they feel, no matter how "real" they look. If all that matters to people is the "eye candy", then what is the point of art existing in the first place?
Ai can be used as a tool. It can be used to get ideas for art, drawing, or character designs. But when it starts to take place of REAL HUMAN BEINGS time, effort, and energy? That’s just insane. I’m a young artist, how am I supposed to post any of my art with stuff like this happening all the time?
@thepedanticphoenix correct! However I’m not saying you should use ai as a replacement for your art or claim it as your own. I don’t like the idea of people doing that, because it’s wrong. Ai can be used as a tool *to some degree*, at least in my opinion.
@thepedanticphoenix Nah, the AI only averages whatever you prompt it, and on lots of different concepts and ideas and learns how to mix them together in a way that makes sense. It's not programmed to "steal" ideas but to learn patterns through tagged images. Are ideas private property now? Humans don't ask permission for everything they consumed at some point and we can make fanart of IPs too because it is protected by fair use.
@@DiegoAlanTorres96 "Learning" my ass. It has no concept for anything. Backward propagation is curve fitting base on chance and how often the same pattern keeps repeated that is extracted from its training data. It's compressed image material. Just in a way that is encrypted enough and in small amounts, that it can't be traced back to its origin..... yet. It's impressive what neural nets can do, but certainly not intelligent. Not in the slightest. Especially what Midjourney shits out is the most egregious. There is no denying it's overtrained, and memorizing. The intention is theft.
This aint the art community, this is the internet community. Get out into your local galleries, local museums, and local libraries and see some real art. Join a sketch group and draw and work with other artists IN PERSON. We need to move away from social media art critiques because it is having a clear consequence on a greater art community, forcing and focusing younger (typically more cutting edge, radically people) inside and away from each other, bending to an algorithm of hate and fast attention instead of having genuine conversations
I also was young and jealous of people who drew amazing images, keeping their secret to themselves, i realized that i don't even know my own secrets to make ilustration it just flows and it's frustrating knowing that you cannot put it in technical words to teach new people to do so
Luckily there are great artists that can teach in technical terms how to draw things like anatomy, form, perspective, color, and lighting. Marc Brunet, Winged Canvas, and Proko are the first three that come to mind.

Marc Brunet, Winged Canvas, Proko, and pikat have helped me so much, especially recently. I'm trying to get better at rendering, and understanding light and color better.
As someone who’s literally been doing art since I was little, ai gets me so angry. I mean, it shouldn’t even be called art anymore. The way I see art is something that has been created, it’s hand made, it’s unique. It takes talent, skill, dedication and passion. If an ai is just generating images, that should not be called art. It’s like a big insult to actual artists who spend day and night practicing, creating. It just isn’t the same. It’s stupid how nowadays people go online, input a prompt and return with the product labelling it ‘their art’. Typing words just isn’t art. It doesn’t hold that same meaning. Maybe this topic just gets on my nerves as an artist and computing student, but I literally can’t stand looking at ai ‘artists’ who undermine real ones 😬
As someone who admires animation and considers myself an artist as well, yeah it grates on my nerves. It's just disappointing how lazy people are getting, and agreed, just typing in a prompt is NOT art. Like.. you did not produce it with your actual mind and hands, therefore it is not even yours. Not to mention how samey AI art feels. It's all the same hyper-realistic bullsh*t (except generated anime characters, which are a bit more harder to tell), and it's been comically easy to find AI art whenever I browse on Deviant Art or Pinterest. It just looks too perfect and yet something's so off about it, it's artificial and has no flaws or anything to praise about it. There is absolutely zero skill in making AI art, because _anyone_ can type in a prompt. Which, like, the entire point of art,, other then the passion, time, care, and lengthy process that goes into making it,,,...is kinda admiring the skill that goes with it? Like there's nothing to admire about AI art, nothing to go "whoa holy crap I can't believe someone made that, that's so awesome" at, because no one made it. Edit: Actually, while AI generated prompts are not made by people, the art used to generate it IS, by actual artists who likely did not give permission for it's use, in which case is stealing.
@@paradoxtatorstudios9681 Key idea: ANYONE can do it. It doesn’t take skill, time, effort...it lacks anything and EVERYTHING that art is. It’s lazy, insulting, and serves no benefit. To anyone. All it is is producing a soulless image for people to look at. Doing it isn’t the problem. It’s then labelling it art...*your* art, at that, which annoys me. I totally agree with you on all bases here. It is just an irritating thing to do..

Im a small artist. I mostly make a pixel art fanarts and i hate that pinterest is now filled to the brim with ai. I have to spend a lot of time looking for a reference that is not ai
AI image detector is a good tool to see if an artwork is made by actual artist or AI, I tried out the Hugging Face AI Image detector using the artwork cover of the indie game Echo Generation: Midnight Edition and it was 98% AI.
And yet 8:44 this guy accused my blue demon girl of being AI, the detector gave it like a 98% probability of being AI and then I had to make that screenshare where I pulled around the layers just to prove myself. Those AI detectors may have some application but when they get it wrong it can be harmful to real artists.
For anyone wondering, I think "cutestintrovert" could have been one of the artists whose work was scalped for petra. I love her work and she's definitely produced stuff like this.
On top of AI grifters infiltrating the art community, I'm so sick of all the know-it-all AI "investigators." While I appreciate the people on pinterest who inform users in the comments when a piece is AI generated, some of them are willing to go to war to defend their argument as to why a piece is AI and are entirely unwilling to admit they may be wrong and that the "proof" found in their investigation is just human error or simplification of detailed areas. Its so exhausting. I just want to enjoy beautiful, human-made pieces.
Every time I look for reference pictures or stock pictures I see these awful AI Abominations, more than I see actual people posing. Like what the heck? Is there like a Safe Search to filter out AI stuff? It's especially terrible when I doom scroll on Twitter and on my phone I usually just like the image without clicking on it, and on my tiny phone I can't see too many details. It happened a few times that I liked a picture, and later it turned out to be AI. I really dislike the direction all this AI stuff is going.

Looks too much like A.I."
Does it, now?
Seriously? Its actual art thats targeted the mist and abused by AI. Photography can still claim that is a recording of the real thing.

I’m so sick of this AI thing for making “art”. I just found it horrible. AI is supposed to help in some way, not to screw us up
In the end we’re all screwed
Capitalism baby
I agree that AI was supposed to help in some way but as you know, people are lazy (not everyone obviously) and they use AI as a shortcut way to 'make something (not just art)' and then claim that they could do it

Google is the worst for looking for non-AI art. Bing is better, but there's still a lot of AI. You can also use a search term to exclude certain known AI generating websites. I think it's adding a minus symbol in front of the word. That works on all major search engines
Same to, this is little the worst I wish we had a way to just hide these Ai images for be more easy to find real photos and art. :
Another bad side of ai is that real artists like myself are being called fake, or in my case literally being harassed in dms and having comments on my posts, acusing me of being an ai artist. It's infuriating that we are are getting the hate that should go to these ai people.
I once saw an obviously AI generated image on Pinterest (the foot was literally backwards lol) and while everyone was calling them out there was someone saying “oh but but maybe that’s just their art style or something they do instead of a signature” 🥺

Honestly just block them. If they keep saying dumb accusations after you've explained "no", then they're not worth your time or worry.
Well that's stupid you can tell what's ai and what's not
I've heard rumors that Cara is being scraped for an AI. I would hope there's no substance to them but I don't know.
I don’t think there should be any complaints against people who use AI in their work if they say: “Yes, I use AI.”
It's really ugly when a person tries to hide it.
This is the primary reason I am so hesitant to put my art online. These issues push me away from even trying.

Dead internet is here, yay…
AI can produce 1000x faster than human. We need brainstorming, concepting, revision, sketching etc etc and Ai can done it all of that under 30 seconds. Really scary.
@@bunnyfreakz It can't.

that Spiderman concept art... when you're too lazy, unskilled & so completely apathetic to art, that you can't even be bothered to fix the simple & obvious things the AI got wrong. is that a hotdog in a paper bag, floating on his wrist? there's missing backpack straps, leg straps that don't go all the way around, nonsensical buckles & pack shapes. even a beginner artist could fix these things in a couple minutes.
Sincerely, one of hundreds of artists in europe being laid off
@sarasoryu
That’s so sad.. though it was inevitable for something like that to happen.
If we can starve it out for long enough, we may have a chance.
try finding something else, do art as a hobby, its not worth it at this point. If i was younger today i wouldn't have pursued art
1.) you neglect all the positive aspects AI could provide (and already did).
2.) you can not stop progress. either adapt or get left behind.
3.) art is not just digital
4.) art as an occupation is not always a blessing and financial interest should never be the sole reason why you do it.
Ai art is that war that will either end the art community or unite everyone against the bug giant soulless corpos
I wish I could say the latter is what we’re working towards but sadly that doesn’t look like it’s the case
Unless you can live and work in the online environment, then, good luck and a hug to you 😢❤
Now I can't stop thinking about these soulless corporations being run by giant bugs.
Fantastic video, subbed!
its gonna be interesting for these ppl who have never picked up a pencil or edited a piece of work when their clients ask them to adjust the work very minutely several times over the developmental stage of designing a subject or making a commission for someone who wants something mildly specific
on top of that there's gonna be more fiddle work because they wont have a layered file to sift through to make things easier/faster
the studios are firing most of their art staff right now and just keep one illustrator to edit the AI images. I am seeing it in both big and small studios
Multimodal models can already make any kind of change in an image by just asking the model in natural language...
It's funny because what you described basically means they became NPCs.
We gonna get to the point where we gonna have fake ai speedpaints lol
We already have fake ai speedpaints actually.. luckily though it’s pretty obvious when it’s ai
Only way to tell if it isn't AI at this point is if the artist shows them flicking through layers. AI can't produce a PSD yet.

i actually appreciate that he's calling them fake artists instead of ai artists, cause it emphasizes how they're not really artists
I'm following you just for this topic, thank you for the awareness you are giving to those not trying to make it as an artist
We all just should start to block these users one by one so noone will see their hate or "art".
It makes me happy that when scrolling through Deviant Art, the AI creators (calling them artists is just wrong sorry not sorry) often have zero comments. They do nothing but pump out images that are very obviously AI and I think more people are picking up on it.

I'd like to recommend The Art Mentor channel. He does great content about this topic.
The future does not look good.
do it as a hobby, it not only doesn't have a future as a trade, you'll hate doing it too if you try to make it a job
after watching this, that art was actually gorgeous which is such a shame. imagine how the ai “artists” will become in the future if they are already having this amazing quality now. its so sick. people should learn how to draw instead of js making an ai do it. learn for yourself or dont learn at all
Unfortunately some people are to lazy to do it, or just want to do the quick way without having the will to go learn it slowly like everyone do.

Funniest part of this video was, that at the end of it UA-cam threw at me a ad of Adobe promoting its AI tool... ironic...
Emphasis on “tool”, that’s what it SHOULD be, for reference, NOT for final
And most of these people aren't even artists themselves, thus cannot understand the entire process and thought that goes into art, although I honestly find it worse when actual artists support AI
This led to absolute paranoia in the art community, and it's awful. Aside from that, nobody asked for or needed this kind of "tool"
All in all, it's such a shame that artists cannot exist peacefully anymore.
@thepedanticphoenix I also don’t agree with most of ai in general. I’m sorry, I’m not trying to say ai is positive, it really isn’t!
@thepedanticphoenixSo?

This guy is like the Penguinz0 of the art community
I don’t even see the point of ‘making’ art if you don’t actually make it. The most enjoyable part for me? The process. There *is* no process if you type a prompt in.

@@Window4503 It's a nice idea but honestly all of this AI shit has just sucked the fun out, it's demoralizing. Sharing art online is for much braver people than me lmao
@@Window4503 Glaze is easily bypassed.
@@PongoFreake no fears. it's okay. as long as you continue making art, the skills will stick with you and humans will hopefully retain these very important skills even into the future. you don't need to be famous to keep a piece of humanity alive.
started to post 3-4 images of my art to prove i did it , hard times we live in where a signature isnt enough

It must be difficult to make a video, we appreciate you Mohammed. :D
😭😭😭😭 tysm
I actually like seeing videos of artwork that is better then mine, it's like seeing something you can achieve and will achieve If you work hard enough
At this point with how good the AI is, it's getting to the point where it became the Mandela Effect where we'd follow either a real artist, or some machine wannabe
I feel like I'd have a lot of fun using AI to create characters for a novel for example or a fanfic or just worldbuilding or even dope crossovers between two animes like someone did Pokémon x Sailormoon (I don't know if it was AI or not) but it is wrong to use it to pretend to be the artist behind the work while the style is stolen from other artists who work SO hard to live from their art
0:11 thats because its on twitter and TikTok, duh
Your videos are wonderful man. I’ve watched around 20-30 videos already while doing chores or drawing or even eating. They’re so informative and not clickbaited. Thank you for making content.
Nah, these instruments give a lot of false positives.
As a fellow artist, AI is very annoying. Especially AI "artists" who claim that its real art.
I'd rather have people accuse me of using AI and needing to disprove it, than people accepting AI generations without question.
*_be honest, what do you think about the art community?_*
war without reason
it has its ups and downs
It's starting to suck and there's so much fighting among the community
Chihuahuas barking.
its really awesome for the most part. Just another case of the toxic minority being the loudest, you guys are just pessimists
You know what is even worse. Art Universities and Colleges are teaching AI as actual course modules.
It is quite disappointing.
Right? It's embarrassing, but art college truly is a scam, I suppose. It's just sad that now more people take shortcuts like selling ai art and then gain some false ego think their the shit when they're just frauds.
I'm so glad I rediscovered you, I missed watching your videos.
bro that ending is literally so real. the process of the art is absolutely a huge part of the joy that comes from being an artist, which is something these gen AI folks don't seem to understand.
