Ah, so you saw the Bukovic video on that pedal too? If not I did, plan on getting one of those thingies, so I too can make a humbucking pickup sound like a filtertron with sustain......!
Have this pedal to add character to my clean jazz sound. It sounds so good but you can't really affect the EQ in any meaningful way besides switching modes. Otherwise, it'd be perfect.
All the demos, including this one, sound great. I’m hesitant to try this one because it lacks a tone control. I’m currently using an SD-1 as a boost and I like it a lot.
Seems like sounds you can get from the Blues Driver or a Timmy type pedal on low gain. I prefer a Rat pedal with the gain nearly off for clean boost settings.
Slightly off topic, but has anyone figured out how to set Boss pedals so they don't power up engaged? I get tired of stomping on all three Boss pedals when powering up my board.
Long ago, you made a video about using a Line 6 Helix "Preamp" Block in what seemed like a very similar manner. No need for an extra Pedal. Is that right?
I want to like this pedal, the RE side sounds just like I want........but I bought it but can't get it to sound anywhere as good as the videos on YT. Straight into a Tonex with various nice clean amps, it just doesn't have the sparkle that sold me.
Wondering what advantage this pedal would have over the Boss GE7. Buffering perhaps...? Maybe ease of use having only two knobs rather than a bank of sliders... Anyway, always nice to have options :)
I really thought this pedal was an early April Fool's joke when it came out. A Waza pedal version of the Booster Feedbacker would be much more appealing with the EQ control and the feedback feature. My FZ-2 serves as my Boost if I really want boost instead of Overdrive. It has great tone control.
I treat the options as three different EQ curves that you can select quickly to fit the room / different guitars. Treated that way, I wouldn’t say it’s a gimmick. It also has proper gain towards the clockwise end of the knob. Personally I prefer the Vemuram Budi G for something that does clean-to-actual-gain with some tone shaping, but the flick of a switch approach on this Boss is handy. Agree with you on the RC Booster - a modern classic.
You think the RC Boost is a must-have pedal, but a pedal that gives you three classic boost circuit options (6, if you include the vintage vs modern buffer switch) for the same price is a “gimmick”? That makes Zero sense.
Haugen's modes course is really helping me get a grip on modes for the first time.
Cool sounds as ever - I’ve gone back to the old faithful GE-7 for boosting / sculpting - just does everything great

Tried it the very next night & as usual , Uncle Larry has it sussed 😃
boss pedals are really great
This sounds quite good! I typically use the EP Booster by Xotic and love it, but this is really intriguing.
I have one, love it.

Nice pedal but then again @johnnathancordy can make even a gutbucket sound amazing!

Fuck yeah sounding absolutely insane, I need to get me one of these...
Kind of the same approach as the TC Electronics Spark. Not sure if the Spark has a buffer however.
I use the ce as an always on. Sounds great with my silver sky
Great sounds as usual. Makes me long for a traditional amp/pedalboard setup
I like all 3 modes. With the guitar by itself I like the RE but I have a feeling the CE would cut through a mix better
All you need is 4 Boss Pedals and an amp. BP-1, JB-2, DD-3, DD-8!!!! What's you line up.

I think that’s just how they are. Pretty sure you can’t change it.
My BP-1w powers up disengaged every time and my DS-1w
It’s just 3 pedals…😊
@@andreedipo6356 haha, good point 👍
Love mine. I only use the RE-201 setting. Hardly use the other settings.
I hope you get the Dimension.

This one is on the buy list though I already have an echoplex boost
Sounds a bit like the left side of my King Of Tone 🤔

My favourite boost at the moment is a Behringer SF300😅
have you tried a giggity pedal? strange beast. still tweaking but it's cool.
He tried my one a couple of weeks back, do a quick search

I think it would be cool to use the bp in the front of the amp and the equalizer in the effects loop!
I was waiting for you to back the Gain off a little to compare RE to CE but still at a Gain 08:15 ...
Sounds great 😎
NIce content, where is the product make as printed on the box?
Next Shiney object!

Engagement.
This is what I would call a gimmick pedal! It has features that I think I want but in the real world all I need is an Xotic RC Booster!
Yeah definitely a don’t need but want pedal

the base tone of the actual amp was a muddy mess, and the pedal just made it worse
