- Todd Chrisley and his family shot to fame with a hit reality show "Chrisley Knows Best" showcasing their lavish southern lifestyle and no-nonsense parenting style. That all ended when Todd and his wife Julie were convicted of tax evasion and fraud and sentenced to a combined 19 years in federal prison. Last week, without permission of the prison, Todd gave his only interview from behind bars, making serious allegations about his treatment in prison. Todd's daughter Savannah Chrisley is speaking out, saying she wants to create "lasting change" in the federal prison system so inmates aren't mistreated or have their constitutional rights violated.

This cant only be about the Chrisleys, prisons are making tons of money from rotted food,filthy living conditions no health care.. ect.. They are all still as human as anyone else, People that have made bad decisions and sentenced to prison . No where does the law require all this inhumane treatment of the ppl that lives there.

Look your parents are guilty of a crime. Prison is never meant to be pleasant. If it was everyone would be wanting to go there. Truth is if you do the crime you better be ready to do the time. Stop thinking you are some privileged individual you are no different than any other inmate.
So bc someone has made poor choices they should not be able to eat food that has not expired or have basic medical care. Wow you would probably do well in North Korea.
There is a thing called being human and making mistakes but the ti.e doesn't fit the crime it's freaking money it's paper and the government rips us off all the time so who the hell are they to judge we are all guilty of making mistakes in our lives but Todd isn't set to be released until 2033 that's ridiculous over so.e damn money smh . Let them out so they can pay it back . This is a excessive sentence .

Florida prisons are horrible! They cover everything up. Give the absolute bare minimum of food. Won't give sheets , towels or anything. They don't even have the basic necessities. They lie they steal they instigate seriously bad things . In my opinion the guards and the admin need to be the ones in prison and see how they like it and see how they can survive. I understand they are understaffed and underpaid in Florida (I'm so sure all around the country) but I live in Florida. I also know people in prison (most of them) did something to get there . Key word PEOPLE .MEANING WE ALL DESERVE THE BASIC MINIMUM AND THE PRISONS JUST DONT DO IT! The guards ALWAYS. Retaliate.. always.
Prison isn't supposed to be the Ritz Carlton. They should be grateful the minimum security prison they are in isn't in Turkey, Russia, or China.
We live in the USA NOT China or Russia, so the comment about how someone should feel “lucky” they are in the USA is obvious to say the least. Todd has always shown his appreciation for the rights we have living in our country. But, I still believe as a citizen of this country that our prisoners should be treated in a humane way and that means to be fed with food that is fresh and not spoiled, rodents and bugs should be kept OUT of the food and there should be effort shown that this action was attempted. The plumbing and sewage system should be working properly too. The temperature should be kept within an acceptable and set approved climate. The conditions should not be something to punish the occupants. Punishment is the confinement and separation from one’s family, the restriction placed on visitation. This is a white collar crime and these two prisoners should be having it equal to what Martha Stewart experienced. I am also so proud that their children are working to try and make some kind of permanent change. When I was a Senior in high school in Oklahoma I read the book written by a man with the last name of Brubaker and a movie was made starring Robert Redford playing the leading role. That was over 50 years ago but it was about conditions at prisons and the need for reform even back then. Reform has been way too slow and even tho’ most prisoners know they have it better in our country than some other communist country we can still demand and work towards making the system as it should be.
The chrisleys would've NEVER brought any of these "injustices" to light before now 😂😂 magically they're suffering 😂😂😂 . In all their years of reality TV nothing was mentioned about "others suffering".

Not for drinking on the job, but as a CO; the reason for no towel or sheets/blankets are for the safety of the(SNM). During the day/night depending on IM there are 15-30 minute checks to prevent suicide/rape/assults of an inmate. I apologize for that CO. We are not a**holes, some of us honor our position and follow policy and procedures. Changes do need to be changed, being a CO is one of the most physically and emotionally draining jobs due to staffing issues, long hours, mandations and equal pay. Open dialogue needed. 🙏💙🇺🇸

She is so right I have also listen to his lawyers on what they actually got sentenced for is so unfair and also because they did not plead guilty they got way way worse sentencing from what I gather she should not even be in prison perhaps a 2 week stay for hi. But 12 years it so unfair

They are NOT in jail. There is NO such thing as going to jail for federal crimes. Federal crimes. Jail is county.
I think people forget that Todd did not always live a privileged life. So he is already humble and great full for his life.
I agree with him about the food and conditions of prisons these people are still human that deserve clean food and better conditions but they are already locked up every day where they deserve to be but to have moldy bread and nasty food is not acceptable just makes them worse when they get out and I'm not saying to give them steak or lobster just clean food

Yes however they don't deserve inhumane treatment; we are humans. My son is intellectually disabled he was in a near fatal car accident he has no discernment and people take advantage of him; he thinks he's helping people then he ends up in jail; they made him plea without his hearing aids and I had to fight with the jail so he could have them; we pay for his medical care he isn't allowed to have his seizure medicine. The facility has an ADA or American Disability Act they help some; the jail has stole the thermals he buys he also complained of moldy bread; bugs water leaks; this is horrible may God help us
We need people like Savannah that has the willpower and strength to stand up and fight to make changes not just in the prison system, but the whole way the United States is being run right now.

I am supporting of her efforts on federal reform in this prison and it’s much needed. I just wanna make a remark of why the news wants to say the two have a combined prison term 19 years when it’s not combined it’s individual it doesn’t matter if it’s 19 years is not 19 years one has 12 years or 11 years the other one has like six years seven years whatever you wanna call it but it’s not combined so stop calling combined..lol 😂❤.
