All while she doesn't have to do anything except pretend to be innocent and ruin the life of Greg Smart's family. I also feel a little, not a lot, bad for the kid. He should be in jail, no question, but she definitely manipulated him, a child, to do it. He made the choice, and is responsible for it, but I still wonder, had she never been his teacher, where would he be now?

Izzy's Mom 1 yeah I can understand that. I have a little bit of sympathy for him too. I mean obviously he knew it was wrong but he was also being told by Pamela that he was abusive and whatnot. Even Gregg’s brother said he felt a little sorry for Flynn because he saw that he was completely manipulated by Pam. They also aren’t opposed to Flynn being paroled, and I agree with them on that. He did 25 years and he’s shown remorse and that’s more than we can say about Pam. I think the justice system handled this case correctly.

The central point here from a strictly legal point of view is the fact that the jury was not sequestered, amidst a tsunami of daily and wildly prejudicial news coverage. After court hours there were many cases of reporters from WMUR-TV 9 talking with jurors during the trial, and an instance after Billy Flynn's tearful confession of a reporter from CH 9 standing next to him in the courthouse holding area bathroom by the back entrance as Flynn asked him "How'm I doin?" By the norms of the US justice system and by simple logic and morality this woman deserves a commutation of sentence.

This won't be a popular opinion, but I'm throwing it out there anyway. I haven't read every word of the transcripts, but I didn't find the highlighted conversations between Cecelia and Pamela to be all that compelling. I haven't seen anything that constitutes a confession by Pamela on the wired conversations that leads me to believe that she, in fact, asked these boys (or Billy) to commit the murder of Greg. If she had, I would understand the prosecutions feeling that the evidence was overwhelming regarding her guilt, but I haven't seen or heard it. I only hear the prosecution saying that it was overwhelming, but that doesn't make it so. I believe the relationship between Billy and Pamela is what "hung her" in the eyes of most, but that relationship, as bad as it was, doesn't equal life w/o parole. Beyond that, I don't believe that she would continue sitting in prison declaring her innocence of being the mastermind, knowing that that is the one detail that keeps her from being considered for a hearing to change her sentence. Her continued denial of constructing the murder plot is what stands between her and another hearing, so what, beyond actual innocence, would cause someone to so staunchly refuse to admit something she's been paying for for thirty years? I personally believe there is much more reason to consider the idea that she was not involved in the actions of the teenagers that night. The fact that they also had months and months to put their story together pointing at Pamela, is also really concerning. Just my two cents.

Pam [Pame as she spells it] Smart would have sat by idly while her young accomplices rotted in prison for life. Pam's arrogance, big mouth and vampiric need for attention is what convicted her, but her failure to accept responsibility for being an accessory to premeditated murder is the reason why she will spend the rest of her life in prison. Pam refused to speak with Bill Spencer of WMUR when he tried to conduct an interview after her three accomplices were arrested. Finally, a break in the case and that's when Pam changes her tune. Up to that point, she was in constant pursuit of media attention. Yet, she disengages once the police make an arrest - coincidence? There were numerous red flags and nuances that alerted investigators from the beginning. Pam thought she could use underprivileged youngsters as scapegoats in her master plan. She seems like the type of person who was always out for herself and nobody else. To this very day, Pam's only concern is me, myself and I.

Right after Greg’s murder she immediately stopped talking to Billy. If she didn’t know who or why wouldn’t she have ask him if he did it . Or go to the police and say I think I know. No she was guilty and was worried about getting caught she used this kid . Just like she said on those tapes who are they going to believe a 15 year old or a professional like me. She even told a news reporter just a few weeks or maybe it was days after the shooting that it couldn’t have happened to Greg at a better time in his life. Really?? The poor guy was only in his twenties with his whole life ahead. She may not have pulled the trigger but she planted the seed and knew he was going to be killed and did not one thing to stop it. Why would they put the dog in the basement so it wouldn’t be there if she didn’t tell them. So many things pint to her guilt. And she would have let those boys go to jail and not cared one bit either. If she had gotten off. She really thought she would get off. And never shed one tear for herself or Greg. Cold hearted. I wouldn’t doubt if she hadn’t gone to prison that she would have had the next husband bumped off.

She claims she had no idea he had any involvement so why would she ask him or go to the police with his name? As for the tapes, even her friend testified Pam had gone to that meeting with Cecilla pretending she knew more in order to gain info from her. I think It's plausible that Greg knew to put the dog in the basement because he knew how much she loved the dog. As for not shedding a tear, plenty of innocent people have been the same. as Pam says she was in shock more than anything

I also believe that the police wanted Pam so badly based on publicly alone that those tapes of Pam & the girl were not 100 percent accurate and the guy looking to help Pam should interview that girl see what shell say today .The murders are out free and Pam's doing life what's wrong with this picture and as she said why should she plea to a crime she didn't commit? She never committed this murder and was not even there. The than boys are out AND proper thing to do is to let her out. People who actually murder someone or did the crime don’t even get this much time. She’s done her time enough is enough. Those than boys did it !!
