I was just searching for new exchange videos and I saw you uploaded one ! Best day ever. :) Thank you for uploading this & I'm glad you had a great time!
I plan to go to Japan in Spring 2015 to Kansai Gaidai University through Keene State College's Study Abroad Program. Anyone who is a student at the college is allowed to go as long as they pay for the costs. The costs come to about to the equivalent of US $14,928 a semester for one semester. I am learning Japanese right now. However, I have a poor memory at remembering kanji compunds.
When I have finished high school I want to study Russian. Do you advise me first to go to Moscow with AFS so that I can learn the language better? Cheers from Belgium ;)
Have you ever heard of the LABO foreign exchange program based in Japan . They host summer exchange programs for english or japanese students. To go to America or Japan. That is what i'm thinking i want to go with now. And only for $1,500 for the trip not including flight ticks though. :/ But it is the best deal i found so far! Im super excited!
I want to study abroad sooo bad I'm hoping to next summer only problem for me is money but fingers crossed aver thing works out I really want to see Japan
@LizLopezOfficial There are different organisations, that send students to different contries. Im from Denmark, and going to the us this summer! My organisation is called EF. But there are meny others: Ef, YFU, STS, Explorious, My education, AFS, Rotary, and others as well. But it depends on your own homecountry, and you destination. You are more than welcome to contact me if you have any questions! :)
For some reaons, I just want to say that all exchange or international students have strong spirit. They have the encourage to leave their comfort zones and explore new and unfamilar places.
I am from norway and I am going to Japan in 5 days and will be a exchange student to february 2 :D so I hope that I will have a good time like you had :D :D
I'm only 13 and I'm a exchange student so yeah kinda sucked at first but u know its kinda nice now I always loved Japan and now that I'm here its incredible all thought I can't wait to go home and tell my adventure old lol see u all soon
My AFS chapter was pretty bad... Actually really just the chapter president. And some rules. I absolutely adored my LP, although the chapter president got angry at him and tried to commandeer his position because he disagreed with her on something. o.O I had a sort of weird relationship with my host family, but my friends at school, in my club, the other exchange students, were all some of the best friends I've ever had. My last day of school was an enormous sob fest (and I never cry in public).
I noticed when the guy was talking about AFS's good and bad their was a lady behind him with 3 suitcases, two in her hands and the other in front of her, she was having such a hard time pushing the one in front of her.
it is a great video!!!!! I could relate to a lot of the exchange students in this video :D I was an exchange student to Perm Russia for the 2012-2013 school year :D Truly magnificent I wish i was in on that conversation :D !!!!
@garrettparson I can understand your pain. I myself have poor parents and i always wanted to go to another country. Im planning on going to the Philippines someday when im 20 or older. Right now, its not easy, with all the stress that comes with living in the ghetto streets of NY. New York is a good place, only if your living in the right parts of it and have a good job. If not, don't bother coming here. Its not worth it. All of my relatives moved from NY.
would be cool if i had this kind of thing in my country, but no, they aren't even taking us on trips to see stuff, 12 years of school and i've been on trips 3 times and i missed 2, didn't have money
Your videos are amazing! I found your channel a while ago and I´ve following ever since! Now I´m also an exchange student and because of you I have been making videos about it! Hope you can see it and that you like it! Congrats for the great videos!
I'm planning on going to japan as a exchange student this summer and my sensei said i would do well. what program would be good for me because this last march I hosted a student from Sendai and he was such an awesome kid I will never forget him. so if theres any programs you would recommend let me know because I have to start fundraising soon If i'm going
@garrettparson 12,000 dollars yikes! how long are you going? im going for 2 weeks next year and were doing disneyland the whole ball a wax and we only have to pay 2000 dollars and get about 900 dollars back at the end because of fundraising.
@kyradoodle Thats for a year.Instead I have found something much more worth the money. The school of Yamasa. When going there you can stay with either a host family or a dorm on campus. Classes are six hours a day solid japanese. The rest of the day you can do whatever you like. The prices are the cheapest I have seen and you will gain much more japanese than any other normal foreign exchange. The only down side to Yamasa that I can see is that you do not get the Japanese Highschool experience.
google rotary youth exchange! click on the one that says about youth exchange.... yeah a lot of people go to europe! :D if you have any more questions do not hesitate to ask! :D
so many ways my friend i am in russia i came with rotary :D if you live n the usa.. well there is a rotary club in almost every country you just have to find one that sends out exchange students..
I have been looking at going to Japan for a summer foreign exchange student program (2months) with the ASF program but the thing is it is to expensive for me. The price they are asking is $8,300 and I was wondering if their are any other more affordable programs? Please help!
ROTARY IS SOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!!!! they organize trips and keep you involved with the other exchagne students. i am currently on exchange in Chile from USA and it has been the best 3 months of my life so far, ive made friends from ALL OVER the world that i know will be in my life for a varry long time.
Im going hopefully spring 2012, Watching this video kinda shocked me, Im not trying to be mean to a select few people on there but if you didnt spend time trying to learn japanese why even go, or if you thought it was completely boring then what a waste. I would love to go and I have to bust my butt for im a 15 year old and to make over 12,000 dollars to go with afs with poor parents is not easy.
@elliotcarroll may i suggest something? i'm just speculating but can't you get a grant to help pay or have your parents or legal guardians sign up for a program to also help pay because that's what i'm doing because in april of 2012 i'm heading to ching for 2 weeks in my school (im 17) and that's what my mom is doing to pay for the trip since she can't pay out of pocket
Do need like really good grades to become an exchange student?? Im almost at my senior year of high school and i really want to exchange before i leave high school!
Orangetummy I have a question.. I am too late to exchange as a highschool student which I would still love to experience. but is it possible to visit a college in Japan?
I'm applying and have questions, When it asks for an adult size t shirt does it mean a japanese sized adult or american sized adult because I think theirs is a lil different, if we don't make the exchange scholarship are we allowed to try again and when? (same year or have to wait, and it asks for your passport # in the application. To get the # u have to buy a passport right? Why r u supposed 2 already have ur passport in the application if u don't even know if made it yet? thanks please help
I want to live in Japan. So I asked my mom: Me: Mom, can we move to Japan? Mom: What!? Me: Japan schools are so cool. Mom: Heck no... we live in America! Me: *puppy dog face* Mom: NO. Me: :c

i don't like when people think its like an anime ether, i mean its nice and such there but life is real haha. but life always has random times that are like anime and such mostly sense some are based off of real life happenings. yu didn't have to be upset or anything from random person say that though. shes just having fun, but i do understand what yur saying as well. just let people think as they want though is their own problem if they think that going to japan turns them into anime hahaha!

I was going to use Rotary. But, it turns out the UK Government don't let British students outside the EU. Bummer for me!
Wait, why?? Does it still apply even after 3 years because I want to apply for an exchange to Japan?
Is that one of the things you judge people on when you first meet them?
