Our first Mustang Mach e was the premium rear-wheel drive with the large battery we bought it because we wanted more range. The second one we bought because the first one got damaged a couple of times and we didn't want to wait for repairs so we bought a new one and then sold the first one after it was repaired. The second one was stumbled upon at a small dealership that had six of them lined up in front all of them were GT performance editions all of them had between 1200 and 1500 mi on them. They were demos so we didn't get the federal rebate let their Rosa 25,000 off the sticker price! We couldn't resist and while I do miss the range it is so much more fun to drive. The first time we went to pass someone on the two land Federal highway that we live off of we were doing over a hundred before we even realized it!
The non-performance GT splits the difference between the Premium and GT Performance Edition quite well. The GT has practically the same power numbers, better seats and suspension than the Premium, and can be had with the pano roof + BlueCruise for $5000 less than the GTPE.
I'd choose the long range rwd premium one for the longer range an 6 or 7 seconds to 60mph is quick enough, nice car looks good in the orange colour 👌👍🏴
Rwd premium is what is what I chose 255 miles with more then enough torque for 49,000 seemed like a steal I will get the GT In the future this is a good checkpoint for the next 2-3 years
My English Mac E was sent back after only 2 months, long range gt, but would only do 210 miles on a charge. Had 3 recalls, 1 bad glue on glass sun roof, 2 bad glue on front windscreen, but couldn’t do both at the same time? And the update for the tech, which they could not upload! Shame a nice car! But the range was rubbish!
Great comparison. Does the RWD provide any discernible feel advantage over an equivalent AWD (like ICE cars can have)? Will be truly interesting to see a comparison of the FWD, RWD and AWD Blazer EV if such differences are apparent.
Yes... at least in some cars. Like the Tesla Model 3, for example, the steering feels a little different -- heavier -- in the AWD version over the RWD. Chad actually prefers the RWD EV6 over the AWD, even though the AWD is significantly quicker because of this.
I think your comparison is disingenuous, When you are talking about hp, torque and speed, you are comparing a Premium rwd(you did not use the awd) with an awd(GT). They both should have been AWDs
What a joke. The performance edition barley performs better and in some tests has even been shown to perform worse. Certainly in efficiency. Why didn't you mention the silly 5 second limit to power on both of these? People should watch Byorn Nylands video on performance and how the Mach-E falls in its face just entering the freeway, try to do it twice or three times in a row and it's pathetic and I'm not even talking about something like an autocross event. Ever see the moose test results for this poorly built Mexican SUV? Why did you not talk about wh/mi? A lot of non EV owners don't understand how the inefficiencies of the Mach-E will cause you to be at the charger for much longer.
No extended battery life or performance upgrade can make the Mach-E any less ugly. Calling this TOAD a Mustang is the dumbest thing that Ford has ever done! Even worse than the Mustang II.

This is superb content. Well written, edited, and educational. You’ve got my sub.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much!

Very well done. Someone that actually gets EV’s and great data to support the review!

I think they have the same suspension. Only the gtpe has a different suspension.
@@mduncan1424 GT has different springs and sits lower than the Premium.
@@anthonyc8499 can you supply a link to something that shows that? I haven't seen that and would be interested in reading about it.

I’ve got 290 range on my MMEGT on a warm day. 250 on a cold day.
They both look awesome. One for weekday.....one for weekend!
Great solution! Thanks for watching!

Such a tease at the end with "unavailable" and "wait a little while longer" So - how much longer? I'm chomping at the bit!
Maybe Ford will fixed the problems before they start selling them again.

not worth an extra 20 grand in Canada.
@10:17 And I will buy a fully loadefld Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition anyway.
I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! It’s an insane ride.
