Great video! I was always curious if having an old spring re-arched was as good as replacing a set. I'll have to look up what McVeigh's charges for a pair. The rears in my 56 Fairlane are pretty sacked out. Was contemplating going to a 6 leaf (HD) rather than the 5 when I got to rebuild it. How's yours look now as far as it sits from a side view? We have Oregon Auto Spring here just outside of Portland that builds them too. They've been around for a loooong time. I had them make custom fronts for my 56 F100 and they were really inexpensive at the time compared to others. Might not be now! Times have been changing!
The front spring mount is a lot easier than the 64 galaxie's that's for sure. I replaced just the bushings on both of mine and gained about 2" of ride height since the bushings were so bad, definitely rides and handles a lot better too. When you went around a corner, did it sometimes feel like the back end of the car was going to come around to the front?
@@HotRodReverend Both of mine were so bad they were letting the rear axle move around in turns, it was a very weird feeling. I felt it as slow as 10 MPH especially if you stepped back on the gas coming out of a turn.
I do not know the 57’s like I know the 55-56 Fords. I would recommend you contact Thunderbirds Southwest. The have sway bar options for the Tbirds and sedans through 1957.
@@HotRodReverend Thanks for the recommendation. I talked to Lance and he is an absolute well of knowledge I'm going to love to tap into and learn from.
Very Very happy to watch you again Padre. 😀
Spread the word and let folks know the channel is a help!
@HotRodReverend the next video I put up will have great reviews of your channel. Thanks very kindly for your help with my 56.

You really can’t tell a difference from the side. I can just a bit from the rear. The difference is truly in the handling though!

I never felt that way but I did not take any corners more than 20-25 mph

Hey Reverend, I was looking to put a sway bar in my 1957 Ford Custom 300. It didn't come with one stock. Is there one you'd recommend that'll fit it?

@@roughseas3455 glad to hear it!
Great video. Do you happen to remember the part number and source for the springs, shackles and pads?
Thanks in advance.
