Nice fab on the box. A couple pockets in the center section for spare tires, and a pull out drawer out the back of the bed "tunnel" would be really cool.

Great job. If you are not going to regear, I found that a tuner helps a lot with shift points. My truck came with 4.10 : 1 gears. I put a 3" body lift, 1.5 " hub centric wheel spacers and 33" Mickey Thompson MTZ tires and it felt like my truck was struggling when off roading, not a lot, just more than it should. I was about to regear but decided to give a tuner a shot. It no longer feels like I am over working it. I like your wheel well cut job, it just looks right...

My 02 came with a super chips tuner. It came in handy when I switch gearing
Love how you built this. I’m just a stupid kid looking forward to buying his first truck and always getting put down by seeing cheap rusty trucks, (Minnesota), but seeing you find a truck for that kind of money in an area like mine gives me some hope, because it looks like 1 speed bump won’t split it in half.

Keeping the lift stock is always best unless you are doing extreme rock climbing. I bet it drives awesome. Doing this to my free explorer

Awesome bang for buck with this build. Not trying to critique anything but I can’t help but visualize a drawer that comes out of the space between the frame and custom bed.

Bro this is so sick! I think you should fab up the whole front end too. To make it look like a Armored out Ranger. With a windshield guard and a winch and light bars as well.

Awesome built! Get rid of the front axle and replace it with Explorer or 2001 Ranger front axles. You won't need vacuum to the hubs and it is so much stronger.

35s with stock gearing is perfectly fine especially with automatic you probably have 3:73 or 4:10s
It's do-able, I've been doing it for 3 years now, but I would never say it's a good idea lol. Soooo sluggish and the trans will hate you so much. 4.88's will make it a beast on and off road, and leave you open to 37's if you wanted.
My 2003 edge had the same parking issue, that's why I got mine for $200 as well

Hey man going thru the same problem with my 04 ranger with the 4x4 im replacing the transfer case motor tomarrow there is also a box behind the radio that went out on mine hope that gets your working. Another $400 part tho 😣

How did you tighten the shifter? Mine has the exact same problem, barely gets into park and wont start sometimes
Underneath the dash there was a screw loose check my earlier videos of the ranger build I showed how I did it

I had a 98 with the infamous 4x4 non-locking hubs. so how do you get out of 4x4?
I believe it’s not in 4x4 but the hubs are locked so it can go in an out whenever
I have a 97’ ranger with no bed and it’s on 39s and has an 11 inch lift. I absolutely freaking love what you did to this thing, and I would love it if somehow I could be in communication with you, because I’m a 17 year old and I don’t any parents to help me with this build, just myself. If somehow I could be in touch with you to get help and talk about these builds that would be awesome man

Was there a specific reason for the 4inch gap between the frame and your flatbed?
Not really just tire clearance but I could’ve added storage in the open area
I am hoping to buy a Ranger on Wednesday. I want to build a welding rig out of it so I can use it to first weld the holes in the frame and then mount the crane in the bed and then start the SAS axle swap. I am in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. Where are you?

Hey there’s 2 nuts that are loose underneath the steering wheel you could also search it on UA-cam it’s kinda hard to explain!
I had the same issue but the bolts were tight. The problem was the bushings. Ordered them on Amazon for $5 and she was good to go.

What was wrong with ur 4wd? Just a bad transfer case motor? Did you have the hi and lo lights flashing on dash? Thanks
I started by changing the t case motor then that didn’t fix it so I made free manual locking hubs

If I could get a second ranger I'd like to turn it into a off road truck, don't want to do it to my ranger that's going to be my daily. (2011 sport 4x4 4.0L v6)
I do plan on getting a lift and one step up bigger wheels and aftermarket head/break lights etc. But I want a overlander eventually as well

I liked my ranger it did really good off-road for a budget truck
3.0 liter 35" tire's how's it do on hills? I have a FX4 level ll 4.0 factory manual transmission and transfercase 4.11 torsion lock differential 31 spline 8.8 axle. 3" body lift sitting on OEM Alcoa wheels and 33X10.50X15 Super Swamper TSL's and it runs out of power on the sand hill's.

The ranger has vacuum lines to engage 4x4 but odd are there not working I made a video on my channel about it search on my channel: 4x4 fix for free

Just bought a Ford ranger and it has the same issue with it not going in park all the way what’s the reason it did that and how do you fix it
There’s two screws that might be loose under the dash by the pedals that’s what fixed mine someone made a video about it on UA-cam

As someone who didn't want to spend money on gears after switching to 35's.... spend the money on gears lol. it's much cheaper than spending money on a new trans, and the better driveability on and off road will be so much better.
I would but this ranger is just a beater for me if I took better care of it I would hhaha

It was an insane deal it was from my friend he bought it off my old boss for 300$ then he let it mould outside for a year then I bought it off him for 200$. I wouldn’t lie about it man haha
