Oh boy another episode of geega’s accent story time!
For real though this is such a bizarre niche of entertainment I didn’t know I was looking for

Yeah, her being oddly educational is part of the reason why I made this channel.

Fun fact, a nickname for 'transatlantic' accent is 'locust valley lockjaw'. I went to the locust valley highschool. For a local festival we had an old upper class guy do announcements and it was an *intense* transatlantic accent. I heard some guys hearing this going 'I know him, he's not like that when drunk'

Something similar happens in Spanish. CNN en Español and Telemundo are Spanish-speaking television channels based in the USA and their target demographic are the 22 Latin American countries and Spain.
So, the Spanish on those channels is very neutral on accent and simpler than any other Spanish used in any Spanish-speaking country, because they try to use a "common" Spanish that doesn't exist in any country.
And because they mostly hire from Hispanic Americans, and with time and new generations, they forget and don't use Spanish in the USA as often, they're also not very good Spanish-speakers and substitute words with their English equivalents.

THIS. I have seen more than one quora asking "why is Mark Hamill's Joker or Mr Burns British" and for the life of me I cannot grasp how these are mistaken for one another.

    Mid-Atlantic not Transatlantic.
Actually Australian phonetician William Tilly invented the Mid-Atlantic Accent. Tilly taught at Columbia University from 1918 to around the time of his death in 1935, introduced a version of the Mid-Atlantic accent that, for the first time, was standardized with an extreme and conscious level of phonetic consistency. Linguistic prescriptivists, Tilly and his adherents emphatically promoted their new Mid-Atlantic speech standard, which they called "World English", which was then taught in schools. Prior to Tilly it never existed.
