DIY Cottagecore Velvet Dress | Sewing My 2021 Festive Holiday Looks | Thrills and Stitches

- This is the last make in my festive wardrobe series! A chocolate brown, cottagecore-inspired velvet dress with a square neckline, long sleeves and a midi-length half circle skirt.
Sewing with velvet brings its challenges but I made it through! The dress is lined and comes with an invisible zipper in the back. The slim, long sleeves and simple neckline make for a quite minimalist design.
I actually wore the dress for Christmas Eve and it passed the test! I think this will be a timeless staple in my wardrobe which I will wear many years to come.
This is my last video before I head into a UA-cam break for January, but I will be back fresh and full of new ideas soon ♡ In the meantime, if you haven't yet, please subscribe and leave a comment if you enjoyed this or one of my other videos! Always love to hear your thoughts.

Merry Christmas, Elisa! Wishing you a lovely time at home with your family and hope you have a great break. I've loved your videos so so much this year so thank you for all of your creativity and passion and hard work! Can't wait to see more of you in the new year and hopefully see your channel grow to the size you deserve so very much ❤️
Thank you so much Chantal, this comment made my day ✨💕 Get well into the new year and thank you so much for your support 🙏
love this! I also made a brown velvet deess for Christmas 💕
Thank you Jackie! Velvet is the best choice for a Christmas dress 🎄✨
Your videos are amazing! I really love the final look.
Thank you so much 🙏
Beautiful!
Thank you ☺️✨
Thank you so much. So beautiful. I'm so glad I found your video. I'm building myself up for my first attempt to sew velvet and everything just says don't sew darts! Did you slit the inside of the day or reduce the bulk? Did you press open any seams?
So glad to have found your channel and look forward to more once you have recovered!
Thanks for watching! I think if remember correctly (it’s been a while since I made this one) I didn’t cut the darts open, but it’s something I would definitely do now! Velvet can be tricky, so taking your time to do it justice is important. Definitely baste the layers together like I did (if you have lining)
do you sell this pattern or are you planning on doing a drafting video? im in love with the dress 😭
I will be doing a pattern drafting video, I‘ve already recorded it and might be able to upload next week!
Also thank you, I‘m glad you enjoy it ☺️
