I love watching Roger drum. And this is one of those songs where he has to be so tight ... he and John create such a rhythm section, just throbbing and galloping along ... all the parts and instrument voices synch up and create this song so magnificently. I've always loved Duran's gift for arrangement. Planet Earth is a classic.
Saw these lads playing at Brisbane a couple of weeks ago...BEST live act I've seen in years. Simon's voice was brilliant, they have not lost their gloss at all, if anything are a better band these days ...play that f*cking bass John!!
I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people on 'planet earth' to love Duran so much. They continue to make and perform the best music ever written.
I’ve seen this band back in the day, 80’s, with original lineup. Just missing Andy here on this one, but this is a very good clip to show what an awesome band they are just by themselves, playing one of their old songs. This band changed a lot after 1985, but they still manage to press out some good stuff even to this day. Still....nothing as good as DD 80-85.
You are possibly correct = but arcadia, and the duran albums after had a helluva lot of dearth - some tracks on each album on their own are equal to the best on albums 1 and 2, eg palimino, do you believe in shame, american science, goodbye is forever, face for today, and a lot of others - too many to ignore that are A class.
once again a genius perfomance from an everlasting band saw them at a small venue in cambridge just b4 xmas and one of the first gigs post le bon voice probs and they were superb and got to talk afterwards they are a blast to talk to long may they stay
Roger: a master on the hi-hat and pads. New guitarist (sorry, still not familiar with his name!) lays down the line beautifully, his tone different from Andy's, yet a tribute to the song. I love the atmosphere he creates at the break: tasteful, minimal. And Simon! New technique or warming up and caring for his voice (was this post-injury?) ? Unstraining and tuneful. He holds the vowels ... it all sounds SO good!
Bop bop bop bop bop bop bop bop Questo è il pianeta terra Bop bop bop bop bop bop bop bop Questo è il pianeta terra...............................DURANIANO.
Very rough losing such a guitar monster like Warren, and then replacing him with this mediocre twiddler ?? Jeeeezzzzzz.... WTF did they find this guy anyway? (and not that Andy was a monster either)...

I agree but he's also playing with a click track in his ear. He always did because of Nick's sequencing playing in the back ground.
After 30 years, Simon's voice is still as solid as ever. And Planet Earth till holds up!
Honeythorn you're wrong
His voice has matured and is far better live
and in 40 years? still solid
Nick is so calm, Simon still has his voice! I want John's scarf, and Roger kicks ass like always.
How can they still be so good after all these years . I'm not

Duran Duran rocking it in 2020 and forever!! 💜💜💜
..some new romantic LOOOKING !! FOR THE TV SOOOOUND !!
Solid performance. Rocking it. This is why I don't like their recent collaborations.... they don't need it. This band can rock on their own.
Even after all these years, still a bloody good song
Really Truly MISS Andy !!!!!!!

Who can tell me? What did John Taylor say after Simon sang ( some new romantic looking for the tv sound)? I cannot understand English.
'switch it off' (the tv)!

Compare this to the Manchester Square video of the same song, made when they were still "just some band" looking for their big break. Time passes.

No Andy Taylor...no Duran Duran ... :(
