See a lot of remarks about the black pin stripe bordering the red and white. I watch this show every Saturday and the black pin stripe is on the car in the show.
What performance upgrades came with the Starsky and Hutch package? Or was a cool paint job some white bucket seats and a bumper guard what you got with that Starsky and Hutch package?
All the Starsky & Hutch Limited Edition cars were built at the Ford Plant In Chicago IL,, G in the vin. Built in the months of February, March, April and May 1976.You had to order the Deluxe Bumper Group $ 76.00 and the Dual color keyed R/C mirrors $46.00 to get the Starsky & Hutch paint treatment $164.20. The ford 2 B red was used on all these cars. So... All these cars have these options... The interiors would be Black or White.( Except the 20 promotional models like this one) You could order any Ford Option available. You could order the 14x7 magnum 500 wheels $178.00 or white wall , black wall tires, but not the 5 slot aluminum wheels. Most people ordered the plain steel wheels and installed the aftermarket wheels like the ones on the TV show. The popularity of the TV Show is why Ford built the Limited Edition Cars. The factory cars did not have the Black pin stripe outline on the White Stripe. Hope this helps anyone interested in these cars.
@@jpcodnia9133 Excellent. I would love to have one with the 400. I always liked that engine even though it doesn't seem to get a lot of love these days.
This is not an original Torino from the tv series. The one in the tv series had a black pinstripe outlineing the white stripe. This was a promotional thing by Ford
The elite was not a good idea as the window would certainly mess with the white stripe Plus the special body shape on the side above the rear wheels do not exist in elites and the front end looked a lot more like a '76 Plymouth Fury than a Torino really :/ Ford should have carried on with Torinos and not mess with somewhat related cars
I'm very curious about something that only Torino experts could answer: In light of the notorious popularity of the TV show that came to great extent from the famous Torino, why did Ford end production of those fantastic cars in '76 ? I could see it ending in '79 but it would have had 3 more years of production Instead they "replaced" it with the LTD II that a lot of people disliked (those who don't are probably fans of Highway to Heaven) In other words, by the beginning of season 2 of Starsky & Hutch the amazing Torino was dead :/ Stupid idea, in my opinion
rock out dude, so glad you saved her and keeping her all there.
I love Starsky and Hutch!!! I wish I would own a car!!!!
Always wanted one of these, look at that EPA Rear Gear lol, Wake it up with some 3.50 or 3.73 gears. Love that you got all the Doc's for it.

Torino Man that's an old Arkansas inspection sticker, not sure if you're from AR or not bit thought I'd throw that in
What were the engine options for these cars?
Mine had all the ps122 tags on it and the build sheet under the rear seat.

Good video, good looking car. cheers !
Cool facts and numbers.... I put gas in mine, and drive it.
The 1305 factory cars did not come with a black pin stripe.
The sticker said it came with a 351 2V? I thought they came with the 400M?

Clueless yet you posted.. Which is what he's saying it is
No black pinstripe bordering the white stripe as in the original car so this is just a replica
